"When the night was still pitch black, Lanci, driving a deer-drawn sled, finally saw the independent city-state known as ’Glatstone Castle’ along with Siegler and Talia."

This city was also the first Beastn City-State he and Siegler had visited in the past, Small Stone City.

"It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and it doesn’t seem to have changed too much from before."

Lanci had been driving for a few hours in the Land of Perpetual Night and was now about to get so rest.

"Indeed, after enduring war and reconstruction, it seems they’ve tried their best to restore it to its original look."

Siegler too leaned forward, resting her hands on the back of the front seat, peering at Small Stone City up ahead.

"I’m so hungry."

Talia rubbed her stomach and said.

After a long journey, seeing the outline of the city-state, she knew that the long-awaited breakfast ti was about to arrive.

"The specialty products of Small Stone City are quite good; after we rest here for half a day, we can buy so snacks to eat on the road."

Siegler quickly sat back down and told Talia,

"Moreover, we have a very good relationship with the Beastman Great Lord of Small Stone City, Lord Algom. That Bear Man chieftain really likes Rocky, every ti he sees him he can’t wait to cry ’Friend!’ and give him a big hug. If he finds out we’re here, he’ll definitely give us a pile of specialties."

Although she had never expected Calila to openly set out a feast, Calila’s degenerate form was quite cute, like a little animal waiting to be fed.

"The friendship forged from repairing the divine statues, right? You respect their beliefs, help them wholeheartedly, and they will reciprocate in turn. That’s how it is with a few of the Beastn City-States in the Land of Perpetual Night."

Lanci, sitting in the front, agreed.

At that ti, the Polante Empire was in a difficult situation, facing the threat of Huo Ning Empire’s large army, and they desperately needed to ally with the Demon World. At the sa ti, several Beastn City-States en route in the Land of Perpetual Night, serving as key transit points, were especially important.

So, to demonstrate the Imperial Royalty’s sincerity, Lanci, as a Royal Craftsman, repaired the divine statues most revered by the Beastn along the way and earned their friendship with his genuine efforts.

Lord Algom, the Great Lord, was the leader of the Bear Man clan of the first Beastn City-State.

He wondered how this simple Great Lord had fared in the twelve years that had passed.

"I’m getting excited."

Talia’s eyes imdiately brightened a bit, looking forward to Small Stone City with anticipation.

Darkness engulfed the city-state, with only the twilight and lanterns lighting the way forward.

Under the towering city gates, the ground was covered with brilliant white snow, reflecting a faint glow.

A few minutes later, they passed through the city gates of Small Stone City with their docunts with ease.

Right upon entering, they saw a staging post.

For a modest fee, it provided a resting place for the mounts of travelers entering the city.

Siegler skillfully hopped down from the back, entrusting the snowfield Mystical Deer and sled to the caretakers of the Holy Polante Theocracy at the post.

These seemingly newly appointed caretakers quickly fed and grood the Mystical Deer, ensuring they would be properly cared for tonight.

"It’s already seven in the morning, yet it’s still as dark as midnight; daylight here in the Land of Perpetual Night is truly a luxury."

Lanci stepped off the sled, took a pocket watch from his pocket, and looked at it with a sense of nostalgia.

In Small Stone City, even the sumr daylight hours were few and far between, to say nothing of winter.

This was also why this snowfield was known as the Land of Perpetual Night.

Previously, when he was in Northern Continent, he had traveled to Bandela City at the northernmost edge of the Protoss Empire. If he had gone further north, he would have entered a region similar to this, known to the world as ’Perpetual Night.’

Asksan ca from this ’Perpetual Night.’

If this era had a Legendary Sealing Master stationed in the Land of Perpetual Night, then perhaps no Blood Clan would dare casually step foot onto the snowfield.

Such nostalgia.

"Lausang seems to really get the better of the Blood Clan; facing Lausang one-on-one, a Blood Clan Marquis might just get eaten alive."

Talia replied to Lanci in her heart.

Ever since she understood what Lausang was, she no longer had to puzzle over Lanci’s enigmatic phrases and could join in his conversations.

"Who are you thinking of?"

Siegler seed to have noticed that Lanci had soone on his mind, but she was a bit bewildered as to who it might be.

She was puzzled.

This was the first ti she couldn’t discern the thoughts of the Saint Heir.

His mind seed sowhat chaotic.

"Soone who brought a lot of happiness."

Lanci answered, barely concealing his smile.

"..."

Siegler still couldn’t figure it out.

But she didn’t pursue the matter further.

It must be soone she didn’t know, which was why she couldn’t guess it, not that the Saint Heir had fallen gravely ill.

Back when they were in Northern Continent, the Saint Heir never did this; his thoughts were always about his teacher in South Continent.

One day she would understand the answer.

"Look on the bright side; in the Land of Perpetual Night, you can easily fall asleep at any ti without being woken up by the sun. You should get so good rest in a while—you’ve worked hard driving all this way."

Siegler, moving ahead of Lanci, started transporting his luggage, as if by muscle mory, and returned to the previous subject.

Since Lanci didn’t bring as many repair tools for the divine statues this ti, their luggage wasn’t as heavy as before, and combined with her own luggage, which was just two suitcases, Calila only had one very light carry-on case, probably containing only so spare undergarnts.

"You don’t have to carry everything; last ti, when you were but a child carrying four large suitcases by yourself, I felt rather guilty."

Lanci didn’t let Siegler hustle on her own, taking a suitcase from her hands.

One of the reasons Elm the secretary strongly recomnded Siegler then was her superhuman strength and physical stamina. She could virtually ignore the poor visibility and blizzard conditions at night, delivering her employer to the destination with utmost speed.
