Chapter 1343: Chapter 8 Bottom Line_2

“Huh?” Su He, who was strolling casually, suddenly stopped in her tracks and pulled Tan Tai over to an unremarkable stall.

Then, she picked up a hairpin from the stall.

The hairpin wasn’t an immortal treasure, rely carved from Ten-Thousand-Year Ice Jade, shaped like a sword, exuding a faint chill. Though not an immortal treasure, it was extrely well-suited for Tan Tai.

Tianyi’s hand trembled slightly.

The Immortal Sovereign was cold but not oblivious. This hairpin was clearly for won, and it matched her temperant perfectly.

Clearly, Su He had chosen it for her.

Sure enough, Su He turned around, looked at her with a pampering smile, and gently replaced the jade hairpin on her head with the new one.

With attentive care, Su He adjusted her hairstyle, softly gathering her hair till it fell gracefully near her temples.

Tan Tai bowed her head, her body slightly stiffened, wanting to stop her but ultimately said nothing. Only after Su He finished did she quietly transmit her voice, “Next ti… do such personal matters inside a cultivation chamber.”

“Arranging one’s wife’s hair ornants is a matter between husband and wife, not sothing for public display on the street.”

Even the stall owner dared not look directly at them.

Su He blinked: “Sorry… I couldn’t help myself.”

Truly, Tan Tai’s aura of Sword Intent was stunning. Changing to a sword-shaped hairpin radiating coldness made her so captivating Su He couldn’t look away.

Su He turned to the stall owner: “Apologies, I haven’t asked—how much does this hairpin cost?”

The stall owner was a young girl, sixteen or seventeen—this wasn’t just her appearance; she really was only sixteen or seventeen.

She stared blankly at the two people in front of her before snapping back to reality: “Th-thirty superior-quality Spirit Stones!”

Su He smiled: “I don’t have Spirit Stones. Can I trade this instead?”

Su He took out a peach—a peach from her own tree, far better even than those given to Thai Zu.

If a mortal consud it, they could extend their lifespan by a thousand years. For cultivators, it couldn’t extend their lifespan as easily, but it could certainly redy missing or diminished longevity!

The first-generation peaches, having ford in Emperor Luan’s Treasury, were nutritionally inadequate, with weaker effects.

The next cycle of sixty years should bear fruit with far better results.

The girl’s eyes lit up instantly when she saw the peach, her expression turning incredulous as she looked at Su He, her tone stamring: “S-senior… this item is far too precious. I… I…”

She didn’t fully understand its value, but she knew this peach was worth ten, a hundred tis more than her hairpin.

The hairpin was just a little trinket she had carved herself!

Su He laughed softly and, without allowing any argunt, pressed the peach into the girl’s hand: “A hairpin for my wife, no matter how plain, is worth the price… If your conscience feels uneasy, you could perhaps add sothing else as compensation?”

The girl imdiately found herself flustered, holding the peach as though it were a burning hot potato, unable to hold it no matter how she tried.

Su He chuckled and said, “Relax! What the Immortal Sovereign has given you, no one can take from you!”

Tan Tai looked at Su He in confusion, then glanced at the girl, suddenly understanding.

This girl looked familiar!

Eight thousand years ago, when Su He first arrived, she was teased by White Spirit and sent a ssage accusing her of “stealing her husband!” Tan Tai had chased them all the way to Dragon Turtle Di Mountain, where she first t Su He and learned of their relationship through the marriage certificate.

She had pursued them along the path White Spirit and Su He traveled.

Before Di Mountain, in a city, Su He had once taken in a beggar, imparted cultivation techniques, and sent him to the Northern Border to guard a forbidden area containing a Star Plaque Su He left behind to gather Xuan Wu’s Star Power.

The mischievous boy obeyed because the girl who escaped with him from the old hag’s clutches—along with the beggar’s family—had been mutilated and killed.

The boy still wanted to see the girl.

White Spirit personally sent that girl into reincarnation.

Eight thousand years had passed, and this girl… was that girl!

Back then, she was rely mortal, suffering torture till death and reincarnating with an incomplete Spirit Soul, leaving her destined for cultivation fraught with hidden dangers.

She would never reach the Fairy Sect in this lifeti.

Su He’s peach might nourish her sowhat.

“That beggar and the girl—are they related to you?” Tan Tai transmitted her question.

Su He grinned: “In future lives, they will be my friends! That boy is now the East Cloud Mountain’s Mountain Divine God. Though I rarely make use of him, he remains unswervingly loyal.”

Si Ze, Zong Sunye!

Looking at the young girl in front of her, Su He recalled the red-clad figure riding a black panther and a cannon-wielding girl she would et in the future.

She even teased Su He! Their uninhibited laughter once nearly got them truly beaten to death.

Of course, Si Ze had terrible luck—each eting ended with him being chased relentlessly.

This was perhaps the most peaceful encounter yet.

The girl, hearing Su He speak, nervously scrambled on her stall, pulling out an ancient zither. With both hands, she reverently offered it to Su He.

It was also carved from Ice Jade—not for its functionality, but for its incredibly fine craftsmanship.

An authentic piece of art.

This was a zither with twenty-five strings—each string resonated with a harmonious sound. Sadly, few used such instrunts in later generations.

The girl nervously presented the zither; it was the largest piece of Ice Jade at her stall and the most valuable item she owned.

Su He laughed heartily and accepted it.

This zither wouldn’t go to Tan Tai—hands skilled in swordplay likely wouldn’t be suited for string instrunts, and giving away sothing received casually might seem disrespectful.

Su He stored the zither and was just about to pull Tan Tai away when a voice interrupted.

“Is this how the Heavenly Su Gate has educated you? Offering such inferior goods to a dignified Immortal Sovereign?!”

Su He turned back, seeing a man in embroidered robes approaching on foot, his gaze shifting past Si Ze’s reincarnation before fixing on Su He and Tan Tai. He bowed deeply.

“I apologize, Immortal Sovereign, for the lack of proper guidance within the Northern Immortal Domain, resulting in subordinate cultivators selling such substandard items to the Immortal Sovereign.”

As he spoke, his eyes flicked to Tan Tai’s hairpin and quickly lowered again: “North Star Palace shall later present immortal treasures as compensation for this lapse!”

His expression was earnest. While speaking, he turned back to rebuke the young girl: “Return the Immortal Sovereign’s fairy peach imdiately!”
