The church was very old, with parts of it collapsing, and the walls covered in dust, looking abandoned for an unknown length of ti.
Weeds were overgrown, and the buildings were dilapidated, just like the crumbling, abandoned churches Austin had seen in so Western horror films in his past life.
However, the towering structure still faintly displayed its forr glory.
"Church, what exactly is this place?"
Austin furrowed his brows.
A world on the brink of destruction, a being suspected to traverse the Multi-universe, an Elental Race, and this church…
Various speculations flashed through his mind.
Yet, he found no clues.
Inside, there might be the answers I need to know.
Staring deep into the church, a feeling suddenly arose in Austin's heart.
After pondering for a mont, Austin walked forward.
Step by step, there ca a rustling sound all around.
No danger, seemingly over-cautious, yet Austin remained completely uneasy.
Passing through the shattered church door ca a long corridor hall.
Vast, and eerie silence.
An unmistakable rotten sll perated the air, as if Austin slled the scent of the end of all things.
On both sides of the corridor stood angel statues.
But these angel statues were broken, their wings behind shattered, heads and feet missing, full of cracks, as if smashed by a hamr.
These broken statues were arranged very neatly, almost letting one see through the river of ti the majesty of their glorious past.
"Where exactly is this place?"
With deep curiosity, Austin slowly walked forward.
This path was filled with darkness and solitude, accompanied only by the statues of fallen angels, seemingly endless.
He did not know how much ti had passed,
Finally, the scene before his eyes opened explosively, becoming spacious.
This was the end of the Divine Hall.
There, an old priest was kneeling on the ground, confessing to a half-destroyed statue of a Divine on the high platform.
The old priest was very old, even turning his back to Austin, he could see the skin wrinkled like tree bark.
A beam of light shone from the top, enveloping the figure of the old priest.
The whole Divine Hall gave a feeling of warmth and harmony.
Anyone who saw the scene before them would feel a genuine sense of peace.
However, Austin indeed felt a chilling sensation rise from the bottom of his heart.
Because the figure of the old priest was illusory.
Just like a beam of light's projection.
But Austin knew that this world should not yet have holographic projection technology.
So, the old priest should be a ghost, a specter.
The old priest seed completely unresponsive to Austin's arrival, continuing to confess to the collapsed Divine statue on the high platform in the Divine Hall.
The whole hall echoed with the old priest's calm, reassuring voice.
This slightly comforted Austin, feeling that even if it was a ghost, it might be a benevolent one.
Austin remained silent, and the old priest ignored him.
He did not know how much ti had passed, just as Austin could not help but speak.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh…
Suddenly, the sound of wind ca from all around.
It seed like sothing was quickly approaching!
Austin's gaze sharpened, only to see black figures seemingly flowing out from the darkness, like Asura phantoms, with grinning faces flying from all directions.
Darkness, darkness devouring everything, like shadows peeled off from the darkness, with unsettling grins exposed.
Faintly amid the wind, Austin seed to hear sothing singing.
Like devilish whispers full of seductive allure, darkened Divine Souls.
"What is that!"
Looking at those ink-black figures surging from the dark like a tide, seemingly about to engulf him along with the entire Divine Hall.
A heart jolt for Austin, inside his body the Thunder Law instantly activated, moving the Thunder Elent through the void.
Crackle!
Bolts of thunder were born in the void, sweeping across like tearing space apart, those shadows under the thunder's strike vanished like sun-lted snow with eerie howls.
He did not know if hundreds or thousands of bolts of lightning exploded at this mont, the entire Divine Hall illuminated by the lightning flash.
The ink-black shadows like tides around were smashed into ash by the thunder strikes, and the distant ones seeing this seed so scared, dispersed imdiately like birds and beasts.
Serenity returned all around.
The aged priest was still confessing.
If not for the faint feeling of being watched by sothing from the dark, Austin might have thought everything just now was a hallucination.
"Old father, what were those just now?"
Weighing his words, Austin asked.
"...Divine Abominations."
Unexpectedly, the old priest stopped his confession, his ancient scratchy voice echoed in the air.
That feeling, like a puppet about to wind down, producing the final sound, seed full of a sense of bygone history's weight.
"Divine Abominations?"
Austin slightly frowned, this term he seed to have not heard before.
"Just as stars shining in the starry sky may fall… the almighty Lord… can also fall… once the lambs' faith collapses… seduced by the devil… they beco Divine Abominations."
With the old priest's residual soul's hoarse voice intermittently echoing in the surrounding silent space, it nearly stirred up stormy waves in Austin's heart.
What do these words an?
Could it be that the lofty Divines would one day fall to death from the exalted sky?
This is simply unimaginable!
Astonishnt filled Austin's heart.
Suddenly, he recalled the bizarre state of this spatial world, with an incredible suspicion arising in his mind.
"Could this be the forr Divine Kingdom?"
The dense voice erged from his mouth, Austin stared ticulously at the phantom of the old priest ahead.
The old priest did not respond, continuing to silently face the collapsed Divine statue on the high platform, looking repentant.
Silence is the best answer.
Indeed, this was once a Divine Kingdom, now a fallen Divine's domain!
Only in a Divine Kingdom, would there be Elental Lords and nurous Elental Races.
Because only the tiless, endless Divines would have ti to capture countless Elental Lives to adorn the glory of the Divine Kingdom.
Only in a Divine Kingdom, would there be such a grand church Divine Hall, almost an entire space world built around it.
The shadows outside the Divine Hall were likely once countless Heroic Spirit Warriors who battled for the Divine.
They were once fervent believers of the Divine, granted eternal life in the Divine Kingdom after death.
However, when the Divine fell, the faith sustaining their hearts collapsed in a single mont, ultimately degenerating into Divine Abominations wandering in darkness!
Just what kind of upheaval happened for even the seemingly immortal Divines to eventually fall?!!!
