anwhile, at the venue of the International Vanguard All-Around Competition.
July Quinn was just about to return to the room that Thomas Grant had arranged for her to sleep in, but near the room she encountered a woman with a bleeding ankle, sitting on the ground and crying loudly.
The woman had black hair and yellow skin, looking like they might share the sa roots.
Thus, her cries tugged at July Quinn’s emotions, causing her to stop.
"What’s wrong?"
The woman heard familiar language and quickly raised her head.
When she saw July Quinn’s pretty face clearly, the woman was montarily stunned and quickly wiped her tears away.
"July Quinn?"
She spoke the sa language as July Quinn.
"You know ?"
July was a bit surprised.
"Not exactly, but I watched your shooting contest just now. It was amazing."
Since she was also a participant in the International Vanguard All-Around Competition, the woman could easily enter and exit the arena to watch the competition.
July Quinn smiled, "Thank you. What’s your na?"
"I’m Claire Quill, serving in the official Vanguard Corps, sent by the officials to participate in the boxing match for this event." The woman struggled to stand up and reached out to greet July Quinn.
Once she stood up, July noticed how different she looked from her delicate face and na.
Tall!
Claire Quill was very tall.
At least 1.8 ters, with muscles all over her body, extrely fit.
July Quinn shook her hand, "Pleasure to et you. But how did you get injured? This wound looks deep."
While greeting, July examined the bloody cut on her ankle.
The wound was deep, appearing to have been caused by a sharp object.
"When I was leaving the shooting range just now, I ran into an old rival and his friend..."
Claire Quill got injured by them in a place without surveillance, because she was highly likely to win a dal in this competition.
"I was too careless and got ambushed by them."
July Quinn had heard about such things happening in competitions, but didn’t expect reality to be even more shocking than rumors.
She crouched down to examine Claire Quill’s injury and clean the wound.
The ointnt that Roman Kidd had given her earlier was still in her pocket, and July took it out to apply to Claire Quill’s wound.
Claire Quill watched July Quinn skillfully bandage her wound and apply dicine, and asked in surprise, "You can treat external injuries too?"
"Just a little bit," July replied.
After bandaging Claire Quill’s wound, July continued, "The wound will heal in three days. But since they cut your tendon, you can’t do intense activities for three months, or it will cause tendon rupture."
"But I have a competition in three days."
"No, with your current condition, there’s no way you can compete. You can ask your official dical team if you don’t believe ."
"But I’m the most promising among the official vanguard here this ti. Our task is to definitely bring back a dal. If we don’t, our whole team will be punished."
Claire Quill knew that July Quinn was not joking with her, and her condition was truly unsuitable for competition.
From the mont she got injured, Claire Quill knew this was no ordinary wound and could greatly affect her performance in this competition; otherwise, she wouldn’t have cried so sadly.
"I can’t let my carelessness drag down the whole team."
She planned to fight with her life to bring back a dal.
"But you know, if you compete in this condition, the injury might never heal properly, leaving you with a permanent limp."
"I know, but I can’t drag the whole team down, can I?"
Claire Quill continued, "One must take responsibility for their actions. Since it’s my mistake, I’ll even sacrifice a foot to make ands!"
Perhaps moved by the determination in Claire Quill’s eyes, July Quinn pondered for a mont before saying, "I’ll compete in your place and bring back a dal."
