When Roman arrived in the living room, he saw his mother, Lisa Shepard, walking toward the sofa with the butler’s assistance, limping.
"Mom, what happened to you?"
Roman hurried forward.
"Madam twisted her ankle earlier, it looks quite severe."
"I’ll call the family doctor right away."
Roman quickly fetched the family doctor.
After so urgent treatnt by the family doctor, Lisa’s foot was not much of a problem anymore.
However, the family doctor said, "Madam, it’s best if you stay at ho and don’t move around too much these days, so the sprain can heal faster."
But Lisa said, "It wouldn’t matter on usual days, but tomorrow is the opening day of The Hawthorne Family’s Stillwater Resort. I promised the couple I would help them with the ribbon-cutting."
"Butler, call and cancel it later." Roman instructed, expressionless.
The butler looked at Roman, then at Lisa, not saying a word.
It was Lisa who retorted, "No way. I’ve promised the couple long ago. How can I stand them up at a crucial mont? Where would they find soone to replace tomorrow?"
"But your foot is like this, how can you help them with the ribbon-cutting?" Roman asked.
"Why can’t I? At most, I’ll have the family doctor put on a couple more layers of bandages."
"This isn’t a problem that can be solved with a few more layers of bandages either."
"Even if it can’t be solved, I still need to help them with the ribbon-cutting."
The mother and son were at odds, while the family doctor and butler didn’t know who to support.
In the end, Roman compromised.
"I’ll handle the ribbon-cutting for you, just stay ho and rest."
After saying this, Roman turned and walked back to the study without another word.
Once his figure completely disappeared from the doorway, Lisa smiled.
"Isn’t it bad to distract him like this, when he finds out later?"
The butler was a bit troubled.
"I don’t care if it’s bad or not, I just want to hold a grandson as soon as possible. Look at the sixth child’s family, their kid is almost in elentary school, and he’s five years younger than Roman."
Indeed, despite being the Vice President, Roman’s reluctance to marry and have children worried Lisa a lot.
She recently planned to pair Roman up with Gia Zachary, the fourth daughter of The Zachary Family.
She ntioned it to Roman a few tis, but he always used not having ti as an excuse and never t Gia once.

"Of course."
The butler agreed but then asked, "But how do you know if he’ll click with the Zachary’s fourth daughter when you plan the eting?"

But Lisa said mysteriously, "No need to worry, I’ve got it all arranged."
