Howard Lynch proudly declared, "That’s my cousin. She stayed with us for a while and I personally taught her speaking skills."
Indeed, Howard was convinced that the one receiving praise from the examiner was his cousin, Joy Quinn.
After all, only she had received his personal training.
So, her being praised by the examiner brought honor to Howard as well.
"So it’s Chairman Lynch’s cousin, no wonder your family has great genes, not only looking good but having language talents that are difficult to surpass."
"I heard soone scored full marks in the written test, it must be Chairman Lynch’s cousin."
"Yes, with Chairman Lynch’s cousin having such a great speaking skill, the gold award in this contest is certainly hers. She will definitely be the one accompanying our association to study at ridia."
Howard loved hearing these flattering words, his vanity being satisfied to the fullest.
After Howard inquired about Joy Quinn’s performance and left the multipurpose hall, he coincidentally saw July Quinn still accompanying Shelly Cole.
July Quinn had just finished her assessnt and was pulled aside by Shelly Cole for her final speaking training.
This ti it was Shelly Cole answering the questions, so July Quinn didn’t need to speak.
Therefore, Howard was quite surprised to see July Quinn there.
"July Quinn, why are you here too?"
July Quinn looked up at him, her expression unchanged, "If you can be here, why can’t I?"
"I’m the president of ridia’s Language Association, just checking the status of the language contest. And you? A wild country girl from town, don’t tell you’re here to take part in ridia’s language contest?"
Howard’s condescending tone made Shelly Cole sense sothing was off.
Initially, she thought Howard looked promising, assuming he wouldn’t act like Joy Quinn.
But now, it looked like Howard was also a person who couldn’t see the outstanding talent beneath July Quinn’s stunning appearance.
"Unfortunately, I am here to compete."
Unlike Howard’s condescending tone, July Quinn’s remained flat throughout, showing no emotions.
"With your level of culture, you’re entering the contest, aren’t you afraid of being laughed at?"
Howard beca more agitated, "Even if you’re not afraid of embarrassing yourself, don’t waste our ti here."
However, his words didn’t anger July Quinn but made Shelly Cole and classmates who had just finished the assessnt, including Victor Hawthorne, unable to stand it.
"How is July wasting your ti? With her understanding of ridia’s language, she could be your ntor!"
"Exactly, if it weren’t for our class, July wouldn’t want to participate in this lousy contest. If you ask , you’re the one wasting her ti!"
"Claiming July has low cultural level? How high is yours, even back when you were wearing diapers, our school sponsored you?"
They all ganged up against Howard.
Howard didn’t expect so many people to stand up for July Quinn, targeting him directly, and beca furious and ashad.
"Each of them fooled by her, dare to challenge ? I’m the president of ridia’s Language Association, how could she be my ntor? That’s wishful thinking."
Yet, just as Howard finished speaking and prepared to call the next group of students for the speaking assessnt, the examiner peeked out and, upon seeing July Quinn still by the examination room door, exclaid joyfully, "Quinn, you’re still here!"
