July Quinn sneaked into the old Kane Family house and slipped into the hall.

Everything was going smoothly until she encountered a golden retriever in the hall.

One person and one dog faced off, stuck in a stalemate.

The golden retriever thought July was an intruder and began barking.

A voice from inside the house called out, "Momo, what are you barking for?"

Soon after, the old person walked towards them.

As the footsteps approached, July wanted to slip away.

But Momo, the golden retriever, wouldn’t let her, holding onto her coat and refusing to let go.

July thought her reputation might be ruined by this golden retriever.

Just as she was about to be caught by the golden retriever and its owner, July suddenly fell into a familiar embrace.

Imdiately, the golden retriever biting her coat was patted on the head, instantly comforted, releasing its grip, wagging its tail happily.

"Momo, what’s wrong with you?"

The old person seed to be walking with a cane, the footsteps sounding unusually heavy in the dark night.

"Nothing, Grandpa. I got up to drink water, Momo probably mistook for an intruder."

Kyle Keaton held July’s waist, nonchalantly making things up.

ntioning the word "intruder," he pressed July’s waist mischievously.

July was extrely annoyed, but she didn’t dare to move.

If she were discovered sneaking into soone else’s house at night, her reputation would truly be gone.

"Silly dog! Probably getting old, eyesight isn’t good anymore."

The old man’s voice ca again.

Momo the golden retriever didn’t realize it was being called an old dog as it continued to roll around on the floor, acting cute.

"Okay, Grandpa, you continue to rest. I’m going back to bed."

Kyle turned with July, separating the golden retriever that accidentally rolled against July’s leg.

Even if it’s an aging dog, in Kyle’s eyes, it’s still a male!

Since it’s a male, it shouldn’t be too close to July.

But Momo didn’t understand that this man was overflowing with jealousy, thinking he was playing with it, wagging its big tail happily.

"Alright, you sleep soon too, it’s almost dawn."

The old man seed to be heading back.

Kyle adeptly hooked July’s waist, taking her back to his room.

Once they entered the room, Kyle imdiately pinned July against the wall.

"What are you doing here in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"

The tone was full of suspicion, as if he was really displeased with her late-night visit.

But if he truly was as displeased as he seed, why did his hand slip inside her coat after taking it off?

"I just stumbled in accidentally, don’t overthink it."

July pulled his hand out, not wanting to let this two-faced man take advantage.

But instead of stopping, the man grew bolder.

The more July avoided, the more he pursued.

Pressing her down, his gaze slightly wicked, "Do you really expect anyone to believe you accidentally stumbled into our house?"

Yes, he concluded, she had purposely co to see him.

But July pushed him away.

Because she suddenly rembered Liam Monroe’s saying: the one who falls in love first loses.

She was too worried about whether he’d really be angry and ignore her in the future, neglecting to consider if her impulsive visit made him realize she couldn’t help loving him, and that he’d act recklessly, thinking he could always exploit that.

"If you don’t believe , then don’t. I’ve realized I ca to the wrong place, so I’m finding the right one now."

Having thought it through, July decided to stop while she was ahead.

But the man suddenly restrained her, whispering in her ear, "Do you plan to go sowhere else looking like this?"

July looked down to find her loose V-neck sweater had its collar pulled askew by Kyle...
