Jimmy and Misa imdiately took over the whole investigation and sent ho everybody who was not part of the DSA, and the work began. They put away every evidence that could connect Joseph to anything, they deleted all the CCTV footage, as well as literally stripped out the dashcam and bodycams of the officers, putting them into bags that only purpose was just to go into storage and be there until they can use it or maybe fabricate another cri with it.
Then next ca the harder part... to gaslight the shit out of people that what they saw was not Joseph Cassian but soone else. Now, this was almost an impossible thing to do, and of course, it was because they saw it with their own eyes... but the DSA had so technique to actually do it, which was manipulation and threats, and it was understandable to everyone that if they ever spoke out about it, then shit was going to go down, they suddenly disappear with all of their families, but still, it wasn’t a technique that worked fully, but they are the DSA.
Would the public believe in an agency in the governnt or so ladies, security guards who were in shock, frozen down... well, maybe yeah, those who don’t trust the governnt... so there ca the last sparkle.
Reconnect the dots in a way that they are brought in evidence that are from a whole other investigation, maybe from soone who is already in jail... but it worked flawlessly and the reason for it was the bigger picture.
Three leaders died, drug empire leaders who had their hands in many businesses, with many connections... so nobody would be surprised if they had connections to, let’s say, a big ti smuggler who was arrested. In this way, they can fabricate a story that he was arrested because Trevor or one of them gave information about him, so in retaliation, he sent a hit team to kill all of them.
It could work, no, it will work, because the general public just wants to live in peace and comfort, and when the information would co out about what exactly happened, that it was a drug empire and gangster hit, then even though all the information is a lie, a fabrication, manipulation, they will not give a fuck about it, but be happy that, gangsters died, and once again, the city beca safer, for them, for their children, for everyone.
So that’s what they were exactly doing, though there were legitimate questions in their minds.
Why did Joseph act this fast and this brutal? Why is he reckless letting himself be captured by caras, letting himself be seen by people? What is he exactly going to do after it?
Well, even though the first and second question seed to be a mystery, the last question answered it all.
It was obviously retaliation for what they have done to him, but the most important of it, it was his first steps to start building up the family.
"What next?" Pablo asked as they were nearing the family house.
"The structure of the family." Joseph said as he looked at him. "We need a hierarchy, we need to make a system, to work flawlessly and start making money."
Pablo once again felt an urge of excitent in him, finally, they would really look like a mafia family, because what he had done thought that ten years was nothing... like literally nothing.
Though he had very good reasons for it.
The first one, and most obvious, was that he was a DAG operative and the manhunt was, and still technically ongoing and the worst part of it, it’s on an international level, not just a national one.
So suddenly popping up and starting a mafia family would have been the worst idea ever.
The second reason for it was that he nor the others wanted to create a mafia family that is in operation.
The reason for it was that they didn’t know how he was, he never gave back an answer, they only heard by the guard who said he looked skinny and didn’t really talk, so there was a chance when he cos out he would do nothing, a ntally ill person, soone who lost reality... the other reason was that if he was even sane, then coming from a mafia that’s already built up cos with trust issues, you just take a throne that sobody else built up.
And third, they had no idea if he would even go with them, if he would take part in all of this or just walk away from all of this bullshit... he had all the right with his past but no... and finally, they are on the way to really start it all.
"You said we have nothing, just the house, so cars and weapons yeah?" Joseph asked again.
"Yeah, that’s it, we didn’t really do anything else, just gather people who are capable of carrying out whatever you asked them for."
"Are they that capable?"
"Yeah, everybody in the family cos with so kind of background." He looked at Joseph. "So yeah, they are very capable of well... murdering people." He smiled, though it just brought up more problems in Joseph’s mind.
"What about the money? Who’s handling it?"
"." Pablo quickly said, which was understandable why they were going broke. "We have accounts all over the world who can launder our money and of course banks too that take any amount without question."
Without a question... but for us that will be impossible to do...
"We need to deal with the laundering dostically, maybe a shell company, or a firm that specializes in it, because we will receive large amounts of cash. Not just that, we need a fairly hidden building where we would store it and count it, a Piggybank." He looked once again at Pablo. "Money counters, protection, and trucks, maybe cars to move the money when it is clean... but first we need drugs, connections, smugglers, dealers... a lot of work."
"I thought we... like taking what’s ours..." Pablo said in a kind of hesitant way, which just confused Joseph, cuz they took it back, the money hundred of millions.
"What do you an?"
"Well... Trevor’s warehouses and even Vincente’s, it is packed with drugs, so maybe we should rob it."
Silence for a mont, they just stared at each other, like if Pablo said sothing genius or sothing... well, in so way he actually did say sothing genius, because in Joseph’s mind he was building up everything from the bottom, what he thought about was connection to smugglers to bring in drugs, or even start their own laboratory and fields... for not even a second he thought about robbing those he killed.
"Ohh... yeah we should." He said as a smile curled up on his lips, because with this everything just quickstart.
Yeah not just the business but the war too. A war that from this point on is inevitable.
