Chapter 294: A Moonless Night for Killing

So people collapsed to the ground while running.

This startled their companions behind them.

Just as they were wondering what had happened,

a sudden sharp pain pierced their foreheads.

In the next mont, they fell lifeless to the ground.

"This technique is truly effective!"

Li ng walked leisurely along the city wall.

Every adventurer in his sight beca his target.

Once seen by Li ng, the adventurers would be instantly killed.

Although the technique was effective, its power was relatively weak.

It had no effect on king-level fighters.

King-level swordsn could envelop their entire bodies in an aura barrier.

King-level mages, sensitive to magical fluctuations, would trigger defensive magical items to automatically activate.

The chaos outside did not disturb the revelry inside the castle.

Every adventurer Li ng saw fell to the ground without a chance to raise an alarm.

After killing everyone outside, Li ng slowly entered the castle.

Inside, the darkness faded away, replaced by bright light.

The walls of the corridor were lined with elegant magical lamps.

Suddenly, a man and a woman appeared from around a corner.

The man, an adventurer in leather armor, had a flushed face.

He laughed loudly while holding the woman, occasionally planting kisses on her face.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!"

The man, focused on teasing the woman, failed to notice Li ng approaching.

Both were drunk, their faces flushed red.

They bumped into Li ng, only to feel like they had hit a wall.

The recoil caused them to lose their balance and fall to the ground.

The man looked up, cursing angrily—only to be t with a gaping, monstrous mouth.

"Ah!"

The woman's scream echoed in the corridor.

She sat paralyzed on the ground, horrified at the scene before her.

The man beside her had been devoured.

"Don't... don't eat !"

The woman turned and crawled away in terror.

Before she could get far, a sudden "bang" rang out.

A bloody hole appeared in her forehead, and she collapsed, her wide eyes frozen in shock.

Blood poured from the wound, pooling beneath her.

"Who's there?"

Another man and woman appeared around the corner.

They arrived just in ti to witness the horrifying scene.

The two, though drunk, instantly sobered up.

"Slash!"

Two streaks of water-blue magical energy flashed in the corridor.

The heads of the pair exploded like shattered waterlons.

Curious, Li ng walked to the corner and glanced down the other corridor.

He discovered that it led to a large hall.

The hall was lively, filled with music and the noisy chatter of adventurers.

Tonight, the Brotherhood Thieves' Guild was hosting a banquet.

"Killing them one by one is too troubleso. I'll drown them all."

Looking at the hall at the end of the corridor, Li ng thought to himself.

He stepped out from the corner, walking leisurely toward the hall.

The next mont, water-blue magical energy surged.

A massive wave erged, originating from Li ng and rushing toward the hall.

The thunderous roar caught the attention of the adventurers in the hall.

"What’s going on?"

"What is that?"

The adventurers nearest the corridor noticed the commotion.

When they looked down the hallway, their faces filled with terror.

It was water—a massive torrent rushing toward them.

"Boom!"

Before screams could erupt, the torrent crashed into the hall with a deafening roar.

The adventurers inside were swept away like ants by the raging waves.

"Ah!"

Screams echoed endlessly.

The once-lively hall beca a scene of hell.

The raging waters resembled a water dragon, engulfing the entire hall.

The glass windows shattered under the force of the torrent.

Adventurers caught in the water were slamd against walls.

A sickening "crack" signaled the breaking of bones and limbs.

So adventurers were shredded into pieces by the whirlpools within the water.

The hall soon turned a pale red as the water was stained with blood.

"What... what happened here?"

Adventurers on the upper levels stared in shock at the hellish scene below.

How had the festive banquet turned into such carnage?

Where had all this water co from?

"It’s magic! This is elental water!"

The upper-level adventurers, all mbers of the Brotherhood Thieves’ Guild's leadership, numbered several dozen.

They included various professions: human mages, swordsn, and subhuman warriors and sages.

The mages and sages imdiately sensed the dense water-elental magic in the flood.

Elental water?

Their faces darkened.

If this was elental water, it ant an enemy had infiltrated their stronghold.

A burly man rose from the main seat.

He had golden eyes, a patch of small scales on his forehead, and two crimson horns, one of which was broken.

Grinning ferociously, he picked up the massive axe beside his chair.

"Interesting. Tonight’s fun never ends, hahaha!"

He laughed loudly, pointing his axe toward the hall.

"If you’re here, why hide? Show yourself!"

His roar echoed deafeningly.

By now, the hall had settled.

Most of the water had flowed out through the windows and doors, but a ter-deep pool remained.

Corpses floated on the surface, making the hall resemble a scene from hell.

So adventurers were only unconscious, their bodies still twitching, but soon fell still, drowned.

"There he is!"

An upper-level adventurer pointed toward the hallway entrance.

All eyes turned to see Li ng stepping out, walking on the water’s surface.

As he entered the hall, the rippling water instantly stilled, becoming as smooth as a mirror.

The eerie sight made the upper-level adventurers of the Brotherhood Thieves' Guild uneasy.

Who was this man?

Why was he dressed so strangely?

At first glance, he looked like a clown performing on a stage.

"Who are you? I’ve never seen you before. Why have you intruded on the Brotherhood Thieves’ Guild's stronghold?"

The burly man, still seated above, wore a grave expression.

He felt an invisible pressure emanating from this strange man in the hall.

Li ng halted, standing atop the water.

He looked up at the adventurers above.

"Co at all at once. My goal tonight is to annihilate all of you!"

This place was excellent, and Li ng did not plan to destroy it.

Thus, he would kill them gently.

Though there was another path—forcing them to surrender and pledge loyalty to him—Li ng rejected the idea.

So people would never willingly submit.

Forcing them would only plant a ticking ti bomb.
