Chapter 274: Adventurer Squad

Li ng ignored the criticisms of the passengers on the deck.

He knew all too well the nature of humans—a bunch of barbaric monkeys.

Li ng turned and walked towards the rear deck.

"Are you heading to the nearest city, or directly to the Papal State?"

Li ng, who had ascended to the helm deck, walked up to the helm.

After observing the helm for a mont, he gripped it with both hands.

The five mbers of the Adventurer Squad exchanged glances.

Although this man’s attire was indeed a bit strange,

as adventurers, they had seen many odd things in their ti.

They had encountered people dressed even more strangely.

Therefore, they wouldn’t look at the man in front of them with the sa prejudice as those on the deck.

After thinking for a mont, Kain made a decision in his heart.

"Head directly to the Papal State. We’ll take turns steering. You just need to give us the directions!"

Li ng turned the helm three tis to the left.

The airship flying in the sky imdiately turned 30 degrees to the left.

"What are you doing? You should consult everyone first, not—"

The fat man in the crowd shouted again.

Kain, looking helpless, had no choice but to walk down to the deck to calm the crowd.

"Everyone, he is a passenger on this ship just like us. He has nothing to do with those slave traders. I can vouch for this. Disperse, everything will proceed as usual. We’ll arrive at the Papal State soon!"

The fat man looked up at Li ng, standing in front of the helm.

He raised his chubby hand and pointed at Li ng.

"Make him take off that clownish outfit. If he refuses, it proves he’s hiding sothing and must be in cahoots with those slave traders. They must have disguised themselves when things went south. You’re all young; don’t be fooled by him. Those people dared to fly the Adventurer Guild’s flag while committing cris. There’s definitely a spy among the passengers. If he takes control of the airship, who knows where we’ll end up?"

The fat man’s words caused an uproar among the passengers on the deck.

His suspicion wasn’t entirely unreasonable.

Better safe than sorry.

Reasonable suspicion was necessary.

After all, that man was indeed very suspicious.

Kain frowned, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes.

If his companions weren’t here, he would’ve loved to punch that fat man.

Such pointless troublemaking was truly infuriating.

But he couldn’t. As a hero, he had to maintain his image.

Just as Kain was considering how to calm the crowd,

Enzos suddenly shouted angrily.

"Shut up! You people, who can’t even protect your own lives, should just stay quietly in your cabins. If you don’t want to stay on the ship, jump off—no one will stop you!"

As a Sword Saint, the aura Enzos released was overwhelming.

The passengers on the deck imdiately looked terrified.

They felt an invisible pressure weighing on them,

making it hard to breathe and causing their hearts to nearly stop beating.

The faces of the guards beside the fat man changed.

One of them quickly whispered sothing to the fat man.

The fat man, about to explode with anger, suddenly shrank back.

His face turned sour as he walked into the cabin.

Damn it, why are there so many powerful people on this ship?

Seeing the fat man leave, the other passengers on the deck also began to disperse.

The departure of the deck passengers made Enzos and his wife breathe a sigh of relief.

Although the lives of those passengers had nothing to do with them,

they were still innocent ordinary people.

They couldn’t let them die over baseless suspicion.

"Thank you. If you hadn’t spoken up, I wouldn’t have known what to do!"

Kain approached Enzos and thanked him.

When he looked at Oriana, a flicker of admiration crossed his eyes.

He had never seen such a beautiful and mature woman before.

The purple robe couldn’t hide her alluring figure, brimming with mature charm.

The faintly visible curves under the robe only added to her appeal.

"I’m Kain. It’s a pleasure to et you, sir, madam!"

Enzos nodded and introduced himself.

"I’m Enzos, and this is my wife, Oriana!"

Kain was about to introduce his companions,

but he noticed they hadn’t followed him up.

Instead, they were talking with the strange man at the helm deck.

"I’m Swordswoman Lily, this is Priestess Patty, Mage Marina, and Archer Ivy!"

Lily introduced her companions to Li ng.

Li ng’s gaze swept briefly over the four won.

Among them, only Ivy wasn’t human.

Ivy appeared to be a half-elf, with long green hair.

Although her ears were pointed, they weren’t as long as a forest elf’s.

Elves weren’t rare in human society.

Most of them operated as adventurers in human cities.

Aside from Ivy, the other three won were around twenty years old.

Becoming a king-tier combatant at around twenty was impressive—a sign of talent.

"I’m Silver Mask."

Silver Mask?

The four won looked him up and down.

The na indeed matched the person.

In the following ti, the five of them engaged in casual conversation.

Over the next few days, the passenger airship continued heading northeast.

With Li ng’s navigation and guidance, the six of them took turns at the helm.

Through their chats, Li ng learned more about the Adventurer Squad.

Although the five had the identities of adventurers,

they were likely under the command of the Papal State.

Lily, Patty, and Marina all ca from high-ranking noble families in the Papal State.

Only Ivy had joined the squad purely as an adventurer.

That night, the full moon hung high in the sky.

The silver moonlight draped the sea of clouds in a silken veil.

The passenger airship sailing through the cloud sea ford a stunning picture.

"Silver Mask, have you noticed that fat rchant?"

Tonight’s first half was Li ng’s turn at the helm,

navigating the airship toward the Papal State.

Lily was also on the helm deck with him, leaning against the railing, gazing at the moon.

"Let the Temple Knights investigate when we arrive at the Papal State."

Hearing this, Lily turned to look at Silver Mask.

"It seems you already noticed sothing!"

"In situations like that, the one who shouts 'thief' the loudest is often the thief."

Although it was just a guess, it was probably correct.

Lily smiled, stretched her arms, and arched her back.

"Is it okay to just let them be for now?"

"It’s fine. With you all here, a few mid-tier swordsn can’t stir up much trouble."

The fat man and his guards were mid-tier swordsn.

The fat man himself was strongest, only a step away from becoming a high-tier swordsman.

A life-or-death battle might allow him to break through.

Lily smiled and silently agreed with Silver Mask.

Though they knew the fat man was suspicious,

they had no evidence.

The passengers were already in a state of panic.

There was no need to provoke further unrest.

Let the fat man continue to believe he was hiding well.

Lowering her head slightly, Lily glanced at Kain and Marina below, who were chatting happily by the railing.
