Chapter 543: Chapter 542: Maybe It’s Ti
Thinking about what Senior Yannis had said on the phone, he would never return to the Griffith Family. So, had he been alone all this ti? Now that he’s no longer the president of Griffith, what does he usually do? Staring blankly by himself? Watching TV alone? Or endlessly smoking by himself?
After all, she was the one who had torn down the advertisent for the apartnt.
Or maybe, he had always co back to live here?
Cherish Turner held the key in her pocket tightly and whispered, “William Griffith, the apartnt key…” She paused and lowered her voice, “Or just leave it with . If I have ti, I’ll clean it for you. It won’t take
much ti, and you did ask
out to dinner today.”
All these things were paid for by him anyway. Wasn’t it simply a fair exchange?
William Griffith took a puff of his cigarette, still staring at the TV screen, and said indifferently, “As you wish.”
But she hadn’t noticed that he unconsciously smirked.
Cherish Turner released her grip, the key still in her pocket felt so reassuring. “I’m going to bed. Goodnight,” she said, and headed towards the entrance to leave.
“Thirsty,” William Griffith muttered, his gaze slowly shifting from the TV screen and finally sweeping over her. His stare seed casual, but it was intense as he spoke in a low voice.
Thirsty? As expected, Cherish walked to the water dispenser and poured him a cup of warm water.
William Griffith stared at the cup of water she handed him, frowned and said, “I don’t want this.”
Cherish was stunned, but he awkwardly said, “I want water with a flavor.”
Flavored water? Cherish held the cup of water, frozen for a full three minutes. When she ca to her senses, she almost burst out laughing.
Good heavens, how could this man be like this?
Just say you want apple juice, not ‘flavored water.’
Cherish Turner put down the cup, hurriedly ran back to the loft, and returned with a few bottles of apple juice. She placed one bottle in front of him on the coffee table and the rest in the refrigerator. With laughter in her eyes, she said softly, “I’m going to bed now, goodnight.”
He acknowledged with a hum, staring at the clear apple juice on the coffee table.
The night sky was like blue velvet, filled with stars.
Standing in front of the loft window with her wet hair, Cherish Turner stared at the seemingly close yet distant stars. Suddenly, she thought that the distance between two stars might not be as far as she imagined. At least from her own eyes, it was only about one centiter apart.
Perhaps…
Maybe it was ti to tell her about Lewis. After all, so things must be faced.
If the situation in the United States can stabilize, he would tell her everything. They already had a ho and a child together.
–
Unknowingly, it was already May, and sumr was approaching.
At noon, the temperature in the office was noticeably higher. A few male colleagues who couldn’t stand the heat decided to turn on the central air conditioning. The cool breeze ca in, and the heat dissipated a little. This led to so female colleagues who couldn’t stand the cold protesting and causing a commotion.
“Harris! You’re treating us to afternoon tea! How dare you set the air conditioning temperature so low! Do you want to freeze us delicate girls to death?”
“Yes, yes, Harris must treat us!”
Harris stood up and raised his hands to gesture for silence, “OK! I’ll treat! One cup of milk tea per person!”
“Everyone, clap!” soone yelled, and the crowd applauded in unison.
Cherish Turner looked up and smiled at everyone. Suddenly, her phone rang.
