William Griffith suddenly stepped in front of her, his large hand gripping her wrist tightly. Ignoring her cries and struggles, he hoisted her over his shoulder and carried her back to the apartnt. She pounded her fists on his back to no avail. Carrying her with large strides, he walked into the bedroom and roughly threw her onto the bed.
“What are you doing!” Cherish Turner scread violently, more intensely than ever before.
William pressed her down in an instant, his hands propping on either side of her body. That anger was barely restrained as he stared at her and questioned, “Cherish Turner, what are you really angry about? Are you still so concerned about Daniel Peacock?”
“You don’t understand at all!” Cherish cried out in grief and indignation, tears welling up in her eyes.
Her moist eyes were so poignant that it made him even more agitated.
William’s chest tightened, and he gritted his teeth, asking, “How can I understand if you don’t say anything?”
“Even if I tell you, you still won’t understand!” She blurted out. His once focused gaze suddenly beca scattered, with a hint of loneliness. She tried her best to hold back her tears, stubbornly not wanting to cry in front of him. But with a blink, the tears fell, rolling down one after another.
William carefully embraced her, trying to not hurt her as he said in a deep voice, “Stay by my side, Cherish.”
His faint tobacco scent was so intoxicating.
His warm, broad chest provided a sense of security and peace.
His deep, slightly hoarse male voice echoed softly in her ear, swirling around her.
