Chapter 481: Chapter 482: His Ho, Lights On
They drove in silence, with only the faint sound of their breathing.
By the ti William Griffith and Cherish Turner arrived at the bar, everyone else was already there.
Hailey Griffith, Yannis Griffith, Edward Smith, and Grace Harper were sitting on the sofas in the private room at the bar, drinking. Seeing William and Cherish co together, no one was too surprised, except for Yannis. Cherish walked up to Grace and sat down beside her, while William went off to sit alone on the other side of the room. Their little act left the uninford Hailey and the others puzzled, thinking they were just having a fight.
“You…” Hailey looked at Cherish and suddenly shouted, “Got a new hairstyle!?”
As the won started talking about hair, Cherish unconsciously touched her own hair, wearing a slightly shy smile.
William noticed her subtle expression and couldn’t help but imagine who had held her and kissed her, perhaps complinting her new hairstyle, or even doing more intimate things with her. His brows furrowed and his entire deanor turned cold and gloomy, like a stormy sky. He picked up his glass and took a swig without looking up.
Hailey dragged Cherish over to the bar to pick out so fruit liquor. Yannis approached her and whispered in Cherish’s ear, “How co you two ca together?”
“It was a coincidence,” Cherish whispered back, as Yannis handed her a glass of lemon-flavored juice.
They spent the rest of the evening in a haze, and the farewell party had a sowhat sad atmosphere. Soone played a mournful song that made everyone’s hearts ache. Hailey got up to go to the restroom, and Grace and Cherish followed. In the restroom, Hailey asked, “Sister-in-law, what happened between you and my brother? You two seem weird, did you have a fight?”
“Did you?” Grace chid in, a suspicious look in her eyes.
As the water ran and Cherish washed her hands, she finally continued the conversation from earlier, “We broke up.”
“What?” Both of them looked at her in shock.
Cherish wiped her hands with a paper towel, remaining perfectly calm.
When they returned to the private room, Hailey and Grace wore strange expressions. Grace took Cherish by the hand and said to Yannis, “Yannis, can you take us ho?” Giving him a aningful glance, Yannis understood.
“I’ve been drinking, so I can’t drive. I’ll call a cab for you,” Yannis replied cheerfully, as he hailed a taxi by the roadside.
Cherish and Grace waved to the others and got into the cab.
William stood behind them, lighting a cigarette without sparing a glance at the taxi. Only when the car drove away did he mutter, “Let’s go,” and turn to leave.
He wandered around for a while before eventually returning to Cherry Blossom Garden, the building where he had bought both the 9th and 10th floors. In truth, he hadn’t been back to this apartnt in a long ti, and his car had been parked there untouched. He feared that he wouldn’t be able to resist his desires. recently, he’d received a call from Oscar Winston about so trouble in the United States. If things didn’t turn out well, he could end up in prison.
This was the debt he owed the Turner Family, but if he couldn’t provide a stable and warm ho for Cherish, he couldn’t afford to relent and have her stay by his side.
As he approached his apartnt, he noticed the lights were on inside – soone was in his ho. Who could it be? William realized his heart was pounding violently, filled with both anticipation and fear. He was afraid that if he got his hopes up too high, he would be disappointed. And if it was her, he didn’t know if he had the resolve to let her go.
