Chapter 429: Chapter 430: The Taste of Love
On a beautiful weekend afternoon,
Cherish Turner wandered alone in a bustling bookstore filled with n and won. She had originally planned to spend the weekend with him, but early in the morning, William Griffith received a phone call and hurriedly left. At the ti, she was preparing breakfast and had just ward up the milk. He hung up the phone, quickly changed his clothes, and was obviously about to leave.
When she asked him what was wrong, he said, “Emma Hall is going to the airport, and Benjamin has to appear in court. They want
to take her.”
So it was that Miss Swan? Cherish felt a mont of confusion before she instinctively understood.
William lowered his head and kissed her cheek gently, his deep eyes filled with tender laughter. He nodded and said, “She really is just Benjamin’s wife.”
Before leaving, they agreed to contact each other by phone after sending Miss Hall off.
Cherish had no choice but to eat breakfast alone and head out with a backpack. She took the bus to the downtown area, intending to see if there were any good things to buy and wait for his call. At this mont, she was standing in a corner of the bookstore, browsing through books aimlessly. The gentle image of him suddenly surfaced in her mind and she couldn’t help feeling a little inexplicably jealous.
Hey, Cherish, that’s Lawyer Solomon’s wife. He and Lawyer Solomon are best friends, could you really be jealous?
Cherish shook her head, brushing away the undeserved jealousy. She picked up a book out of boredom and began to browse through it.
It was only then that she realized it was an illustrated book.
Legend has it that in the Western Paradise, there is a fragrant and beautiful flower called the Mandala flower. The flowers fall continuously from the sky, filling the ground with color.
The white Shore Flower is also known as the Mandala flower, and the red Shore Flower is known as the Red Spider Lily.
It is a plant that grows year-round in the wild, between desolate ridges and tombs. Although dazzlingly beautiful, it is cold, solitary, and carries an infinite sense of desolation. A single flower blooms to its eventual decay, only then growing leaves. Despite sharing the sa root, the flowers and leaves never et throughout their entire lives, thus, gaining the na Shore Flower.
“Shore Flower, blooming for a thousand years and falling for a thousand years, the flowers and leaves never et.” Cherish read the black characters in the book, her chest tightening. A lonely, gorgeous flower whose petals and leaves never et.
“Buzz buzz—” Her cell phone vibrated in her pocket, pulling her out of her thoughts.
It was a call from William, asking where she was. She hurriedly told him her location, and he said he would be there soon. She couldn’t bear to put down the illustrated book in her hands, so she decided to buy it. She put the book into her backpack and stood outside the bookstore, waiting quietly for him. She was afraid he wouldn’t be able to find her at first glance and would worry.
“Cherish?” A surprised woman’s voice suddenly sounded behind her.
Cherish turned her head in amazent and saw her mother; she hadn’t expected to et her here. “What are you doing here?” Mother Turner asked curiously, “Alone?” She looked around and saw no one else.
Cherish shook her head gently and smiled, “I’m waiting for soone.”
“Who are you waiting for?” Her mother was nosy. She had co to buy so insurance-related books and sat down to chat with her daughter.
“I…” Cherish was about to speak when a car stopped across the street. The sound of the horn attracted attention.
The black car shimred with a blinding light under the sun. Both of them looked over to see the window slowly rolling down, revealing a handso face. William saw Cherish and, of course, Mother Turner too.
William imdiately got out of the car and walked over to Cherish, putting his arm around her shoulder. He glanced at Mother Turner and said, “Auntie.”
Mother Turner stared at them in astonishnt, montarily speechless.
