Chapter 422: Chapter 423: She’s on His Mind and in His Heart

Everyone stopped in their tracks, naturally asking about Cherish Turner’s wellbeing. She nodded with a smile, surrounded by her colleagues. Looking up, she saw a man already far away at the back of the crowd, glaring at her angrily. He had a cold, handso face, and his gaze shot straight through the crowd, fixated on her, as if soone had owed him money and not paid it back.

Cherish narrowed her eyes, her gaze t his in the air before she quickly looked away. She approached William Griffith and Chief Editor Sally, softly calling out, “President Griffith, Chief Editor Sally.”

“Assistant Turner, let’s talk in the office,” Chief Editor Sally said hurriedly, feeling an icy coldness from the man by her side.

Cherish followed Chief Editor Sally to the office, silently walking past William Griffith.

As soon as she entered the office, Chief Editor Sally motioned for her to sit down and chatted warmly, “Assistant Turner, if you’re not feeling well, take a few more days off. Don’t worry about work at all. How about I give you a few more days off?”

“There’s no need, Chief Editor Sally. I’m fine now, and I’d like to get back to work today. I’m sorry for causing you trouble,” Cherish said apologetically.

“No trouble at all, no trouble. How could it be trouble?” Chief Editor Sally hurriedly said, her attitude incredibly kind and friendly. She laughingly promised multiple tis, “If Assistant Turner feels tired or uncomfortable, you can take ti off to rest whenever you like. It’s not trouble at all, not the slightest bit of trouble.”

Naturally, Cherish knew why and could only sigh silently.

After reporting to Chief Editor Sally, she got up and left.

As soon as she left the office, her phone rang.

Without checking the screen, she knew who it was from. On the other end of the call, his tone was brusque, “I’m in my office, co over right away.”

Hanging up the phone, Cherish had no choice but to go to the Vice President’s office.

Thankfully it was lunch break, so the colleagues had gone to eat together, leaving few people around. She smoothly walked through the corridor, past the secretary’s office, and knocked on the Vice President’s office door. As soon as the door opened, William Griffith embraced her and walked towards the sofa, “Didn’t I tell you to rest more and not run around?”

Had this woman started disobeying him?

Cherish sat down on the sofa, finally saying, “William, I’m fine now.”

William Griffith looked at her coldly, his lips pursed but said nothing.

He was angry!

Cherish was one hundred percent certain!

“The company needs manpower, and I don’t like staying idle at ho. It’s boring to be alone. And…” Cherish said a lot of words, hurriedly opening her pocket, taking out one of the carefully prepared lunch boxes, opening it, and bringing it up to him. She said shyly, “And I wanted to have lunch with you.”

William’s eyebrows raised, and the tense sternness on his face eased a bit. He slowly turned his head, his gaze shifting from her face to her hands, glanced at the exquisite lunch box, then looked back at her, lightly breathed out two words, “Hungry.”

Cherish looked at him nervously, and hearing him say that, a smile blood on her face.

“Shall we eat?” She put down the lunch box in a hurry, taking out a few more, “William, I made your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs and tomato soup. I also have these that I love to eat. Can we share and eat them together…”

Cherish continued talking, unaware of the gentle smile on William’s face, a touch of infatuation in it. William’s eyes and heart were filled with her, almost overflowing. He wished he could just keep looking at her forever like this.
