Chapter 417: Chapter 418: Not Leaving

Cherish Turner had never thought that one day, a man would buy sanitary pads for her. But after laying her down on the bed, he turned and left. He only said three words without looking back, leaving her astonished and amazed, “I’ll buy them.”

In Cherish’s mory, her father was a good man, a good husband, and, more importantly, a good father.

But even Father Turner had never done such a thing for her mother. Perhaps her mother had taken care of everything at ho so well that her father had never bothered with housework or trivial matters, including… a small package of sanitary pads.

Cherish quietly lay on the bed with the fan blowing, her gaze drifting towards the sky outside the window.

It was still so blue.

Had he ever bought them for soone else before?

After so ti, William Griffith finally rushed back hurriedly. The mont the door opened, Cherish woke up. She turned her head to look, seeing his handso face tense, his expression sowhat unusual, but no discernible emotion. In his hand, unbelievably, he was holding a large bag.

The bag was full of sanitary pads of all shapes and sizes – with wings and without wings. My goodness! There were so many pads, enough to last her a whole year, right?

Cherish was dumbfounded. Originally wanting to speak, she now found herself speechless.

William walked up to her and put the bag on the table beside the bed.

“Why did you buy so many?” It took a while for her voice to return, and Cherish asked curiously.

William’s handso face was somber, with a suspicious blush spreading, and he solemnly said, “I didn’t know which kind you use, so I grabbed one of each.”

Pausing for a mont, he added indifferently, “I’ve never bought them before.”

Cherish stared at him, her lower abdon still aching faintly, but her heart ached even more. She gently turned her face away, not looking at him. Yet tears suddenly welled up in her eyes, streaming down her cheeks and wetting the pillow.

William stood by the bed, looking down at her, catching sight of her suddenly shedding tears as she turned away. Did she think that by turning her head, the tears pooling on the pillow would go unnoticed? A strange mix of anger and distress wrapped around his heart, but pity prevailed.

Thinking that she was crying because of her stomachache, he leaned in and asked in concern, “Cherish, does it hurt a lot?”

As if finding a legitimate reason to cry, Cherish sobbed like an animal and nodded while whimpering.

William, feeling helpless, hurriedly suggested, “Should I take you to the hospital?”

“No, I’ll be fine after I sleep for a while.” Cherish shook her head, tears falling as she raised her hand to wipe them away, trying to stop herself from crying. After lying on the bed and resting for a while, her abdominal pain had improved significantly. She forced herself to sit halfway up.

William quickly reached out to support her, helping her to the bathroom.

Her clothes had been stained with blood as well. After changing into pajamas, Cherish felt much better. Stepping out of the bathroom and opening the glass door, she saw William waiting outside. Again, he helped her back to the bed to lie down, his movents so natural and without any awkwardness.

Cherish lay down, and he covered her with a small blanket.

That night, William didn’t leave.
