Chapter 412: Chapter 413: So Painful

William Griffith carefully held her as he got into the car, and then he also climbed in.

As soon as the car door closed, Thomas Harrison hurried back to the driver’s seat and stepped on the gas, speeding away.

Everyone who witnessed that scene just now was stunned.

Wasn’t that man… President Griffith?

This explosive news instantly stirred up a storm in Griffith Corporation, with people discussing it everywhere.

On the way to the hospital, William Griffith held Cherish Turner tightly, allowing her to rest on his chest. He lowered his head to look at her. Her originally fair face was pale, making people’s heart ache. She was even thinner than before, her cheeks hollowed out, her eyelashes covering her eyelids, hiding deep shadows. She seed exhausted and anxious as if she was worried about sothing.

William reached out to touch her face, only to find that her temperature was frighteningly high.

Cherish Turner’s lips parted slightly, murmuring sothing.

Her voice was very soft, and William lowered his head even more. His black hair fell on her cheeks, making her look even more fragile. He leaned in to listen, and her voice beca sowhat clearer as it faintly echoed by his ear, intermittently and struggling to form words. She said sorrowfully, “William… it hurts so much…”

For a mont, William’s heart clenched, aching.

He suddenly raised his head and commanded in a deep voice, “Drive faster!”

“Understood, Young Master Layman.” Thomas Harrison responded and sped up the car even more.

“It hurts…”

Seeing the needle being inserted into the delicate veins on the back of her hand, William, sensing Cherish Turner’s pain in her unconscious state, glared at the nurse and asked coldly, “Do you even know how to administer an IV?”

The young nurse was indeed new and was startled, stamring, “I…”

“Leave imdiately!” William’s voice rose a few decibels, and the nurse’s face turned red as she froze in place.

“Sir, please don’t be angry.” An older nurse imdiately stepped in and administered the IV for Cherish Turner.

The nurses quietly left the ward, and Thomas closed the door.

William stood where he was and fell silent for a while before approaching the bed. He looked at her weak face, and his anxious heart felt suffocated. He sat down on a chair and stared at her quietly. The IV was in the back of her hand, and he hesitated before reaching out to hold her hand.

But as soon as he lightly held it, her eyebrows furrowed in pain, as if he had hurt her.

He quickly let go, carefully holding her fingers instead, avoiding the back of her hand.

Cherish Turner slept for a whole day and night and finally woke up the next afternoon. She opened her eyes in a daze, feeling exhausted and weak as if she had no energy. Looking at the unfamiliar ceiling, she saw a delighted face appear in front of her. The woman leaned down and asked, “Assistant Turner, do you feel better? How are you feeling?”

Cherish’s consciousness gradually returned, and she recognized her.

It was her co-worker, Jackson.

“What happened to ?” Cherish Turner asked in a hoarse voice.

“Assistant Turner, Editor-in-Chief Davis is too busy, so he asked

to stay with you. You fainted during the eting. The doctor said you were overworked, which led to a weakened immune system, causing a fever. You also have a bit of anemia. You must pay attention to rest; otherwise, your body won’t be able to take it.” Jackson reminded her.

Cherish Turner nodded and asked softly, “How long was I out for?”

“A day and a night.”

That long?

Cherish herself was taken aback as she had never been unconscious for such an extended period.
