Chapter 408: Chapter 409: Should I Tell William Griffith
The gauze curtain fell, and there was a beam of light slanting across the table between the two curtains.
With a notebook, books, and a pencil case, the bespectacled girl was drinking coffee while diligently studying sothing. It wasn’t until soone pulled the chair across from her that she slowly looked up, catching sight of the newcor, and smiled.
It was Benjamin Solomon and Emma Hall.
This was their second eting since Emma Hall’s return.
Emma was Benjamin’s Achilles’ heel. Over the years, the two had tangled, married, and divorced, causing quite a stir. Nevertheless, Benjamin couldn’t live without Emma.
Even if they spent their entire life arguing with Emma, it seed like an inseparable relationship.
Sure enough, as soon as he found out Emma was back, Benjamin shalessly went up to her.
Emma also had Benjamin in her heart. But is now the right ti?
However, she did not avoid him on purpose. William Griffith’s words did have an effect on Emma.
“What are you writing?” Benjamin asked curiously, snapping his fingers at the waiter, “Iced coffee.”
“Hold on, almost done,” Emma lowered her head to finish copying the rest of her notes and then smiled. “I didn’t have much to do lately, so I chose a course to study.”
Benjamin glanced at the book cover and read it, “This is a world-famous novel, are you reading this?”
“What’s wrong with
reading this? Can’t I?” Emma raised her eyebrows.
“Go ahead, read it. As long as you’re happy”, Benjamin naturally had no intention of stopping her. He took a sip of the coffee that had been served. After all, whatever Emma liked, he liked; there was no saving him. But even though the two were like friends now, there was still a barrier between them in terms of their past feelings.
After writing the last few words, Emma contemplated for a mont and whispered, “Today I went to the hospital and t soone.”
Benjamin did not respond, waiting for her to continue.
“It was Miss Turner. William’s girlfriend.” Emma looked up at Benjamin and said, “She went to the Obstetrics and Gynecology departnt.”
Benjamin was taken aback, his handso face suddenly serious.
At one in the afternoon, Emma had practice, and Benjamin gave her a ride. Then he turned the car around and headed sowhere else.
Was now the right ti to talk about this with William? It seed like the relationship between the two wasn’t that great. And now that William’s little brother was involved too, how could this situation be okay?
Benjamin suddenly thought of another person, Hailey Griffith. Hailey was a senior and had already moved out of the dormitory. Sotis when she went out to intern, it was more convenient.
When Benjamin appeared at the bottom of Hailey’s apartnt, she was clearly surprised. “What’s the matter?” she asked.
As a child, Hailey had been bullied by Benjamin, who was very close with her older brother. Among a group of children, Benjamin had been a bully from a young age. He was only obedient and submissive around Hailey’s older brother.
“I’m thirsty, pour
so water,” Benjamin saw there was no one else in the apartnt and relaxed a little. He went to sit on the sofa.
“Pour it yourself,” Hailey said through gritted teeth, her eyebrows furrowed.
Benjamin looked at her for three seconds before getting up and walking towards the fridge to pour a glass of ice water. Hailey sat on the sofa, staring at him and asking, “What is it that you want?”
“Is Cherish Turner your sister-in-law or second sister-in-law? Anyway, she went to the Obstetrics and Gynecology departnt.” Benjamin suddenly said, his voice muffled by the gulping of water.
“What?” Hailey was startled.
