Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Would You Consider, Staying by My Side

Her silence made William Griffith sowhat anxious, and he asked again, “Cherish, are you listening?”

Cherish Turner ca back to her senses, her eyes looking at them again, and replied: “Yes, I’m listening.” But her tone at this mont was already tinged with coldness.

William Griffith was a sensitive and composed person, so he easily noticed sothing amiss with her emotions. “What’s wrong?”

These days, due to Chloe Turner’s condition, he had been unable to find the ti to have a proper conversation with Cherish, missing her terribly every day. Yet, he forced himself to limit his calls, fearing that hearing her voice would make him impulsively rush to her side.

But he couldn’t do that now; for him, the promise and responsibility he made to Bob Turner regarding Chloe was paramount.

Cherish covered her lips and shook her head. As she watched the scene outside the window, she tried to restrain herself and adjust her emotions. She may not have been the poised daughter of a wealthy family but an ordinary girl, her family situation strained, and she had to work hard to live. In matters of the heart, she couldn’t afford to be weak or submissive.

She deeply despised unclear relationships between n and won and hated being treated like a fool.

Being a fool with Daniel Peacock was more than enough.

So with William Griffith, she didn’t want to be a fool again.

“Your voice sounds off.” William’s expression beca serious; just thinking that she might be upset with him made his heart ache.

“No, the weather has been cold recently, and I think I caught a cold, so I’m a bit congested. Since you’re busy, I’ll hang up first; I’ve got to go to class.”

As Cherish was about to hang up, William stopped her.

“Wait, don’t hang up yet.”

With just one sentence, Cherish willingly obeyed but, upon realizing her compliance, she felt annoyed. Cherish, can’t you have so backbone?

“This weekend, I’ll co to Japan, and I have sothing to tell you.”

Cherish listened attentively, her eyes empty.

Sothing to say? Was he going to open up about their relationship?

No matter what, Cherish couldn’t decide at this mont. What she could be sure of was her own heart;

She, too, had sothing to say to him.

“Fine, this weekend, I’ll wait for you, William Griffith. I also have sothing I want to tell you.” Clenching her phone, she hung up first, determined not to lose her dignity.

William’s heart suddenly seed to convulse; as if by a sixth sense, he felt that sothing was amiss. As astute as he was, he quickly tried to open the app to track Cherish’s location on his phone, but Cherish saw it.

The next second, she decisively turned off her phone, making it impossible for him to locate her.

William searched around the central fountain, feeling a strong sense that she seed to be nearby. Was it just his imagination? He knew that it was impossible for her to be in Sea City now.

Cherish hurried back to the floor-to-ceiling window, and her tears finally fell uncontrollably at this mont.

Tanigawa Kenichi, who had just picked up Chloe’s discharge papers, caught a distant glimpse of Cherish standing in a corner, covering her mouth in a sob. Running to her side, he naturally saw the figure of a man by the fountain.

At that mont, Tanigawa took Cherish in his arms, burying her face in his chest, not wanting her to bear witness to this heart-wrenching scene.

She continued to cry, but as his hand attempted to touch her and comfort her, he hesitated, fearing her rejection. Instead, he asked in a careful yet sincere manner: “Cherish Turner, from today on, would you like to consider staying by my side and letting

protect you?”
