Chapter 139: Chapter 139: New Supervisor
“Grandpa, that’s not fair to say. If you put it that way, Grace Harper is from an ordinary family too, even an orphan. By your standards, she shouldn’t be allowed into the family either!” Yannis Griffith blurted out, trying to defend Cherish Turner. He didn’t realize how hurtful his words might be to Grace until they left his mouth.
Grace’s face turned pale, and she didn’t dare to look at her grandparents or Yannis’s parents. At that mont, she felt utterly embarrassed and restless.
“Grace… I’m sorry, I didn’t an it that way, I just…” Yannis stamred.
“Yannis, I understand. You’re right. I’m not a lady from a distinguished family….” Grace’s voice sounded heartbroken, as if she was on the verge of tears. The Griffith family mbers looked at her with pity.
“How can you even compare Grace to Cherish? Grace is carrying the Griffith’s child! She’s already part of our family. Even if her background is lacking, don’t you understand that a mother’s status is elevated by her child?”
Although the grandfather’s thinking was old-fashioned, many wealthy families seed to value having children above all else.
Yannis didn’t know what to say to his grandparents and was thoroughly disappointed in them.
He stood up to leave, and Grace tried to go with him. But as she got up, her vision went dark, and she fainted in Yannis’s arms.
“What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and help her upstairs, and call the doctor!” Robert Griffith yelled, tapping his cane. Yannis had no choice but to carry Grace upstairs.
Even though Cherish used to think that Grace was nice; now, it seed the girl only brought trouble to the Griffith family.

Cherish’s visa to Japan had been approved, and she would be leaving soon after the New Year. Ti was running out.
She didn’t know how to break the news to William Griffith since she would be in Japan for quite so ti. She knew she would miss him deeply when she was there, but she wondered if he would miss her while he was back in Seaside City.
It was Monday, a workday. The Demon Manga Club office was buzzing with the news of her relationship with William. Thankfully, her coworkers treated her well and didn’t ostracize her due to jealousy. Even if they did, they wouldn’t dare to act on it due to William’s influence.
Yara King’s attitude had softened sowhat, and she wasn’t as confrontational with Cherish as before. Cherish wondered if William had done sothing behind the scenes. In any case, her work environnt had improved.
There were so changes in the Demon Manga Club, though. She heard that a new manager had joined the company. As the West City Ani Town plan was set to launch, several manga clubs, including Demon Manga, were collaborating. Editor-in-Chief Davis was delighted.
“Everyone, gather up, I have an announcent to make.” Editor-in-Chief Davis urgently called everyone to the hall as soon as he arrived at the office.
“After the New Year, the second quarter will see the start of the Ani Town project. Our Demon Manga Club is involved in this project, and we’ve signed a partnership agreent with Kyoto City Group. So, I’d like to welco our new manager for this project, Miss Johnson. Let’s give her a warm welco!”
So, it was Abigail Johnson! Wasn’t she Daniel’s fiancée?
Would Cherish have to work with her from now on?
Cherish hid in a corner, unnoticed by Abigail. However, she saw Abigail and didn’t want to be involved with anyone related to Daniel Peacock again. But it seed that she had no choice this ti! Just thinking about it gave her a headache!
