Chapter 124: Chapter 124: She Forgot

Cherish Turner felt that William Griffith seed particularly sad today, even in his gaze. Sohow, his sadness had infected her. As she looked at his eyes staring at her this way, Cherish even felt like crying, but she didn’t know why this emotion was overwhelming her.

She helped William up and let him lean on the sofa, watching him.

“Although I don’t know what’s wrong with you, maybe it’s because of Lewis’s mother, right?” She muttered to herself. At this mont, her heart felt uncomfortable, but she didn’t argue with William. Leaning against him in the dim light, she suddenly realized that sotis, even the dazzling CEO was not omnipotent.

William didn’t know if he was drunk or sober, but he answered, “Yes, it’s Lewis’s mother.”

His gaze was unfocused, looking at the light.

He had never directly faced her, never ntioned this to her before, and speaking of it now made Cherish sowhat nervous.

She was afraid that he would say sothing she didn’t want to hear because she didn’t know when it began, but she was already so concerned about William.

“When I was with Lewis’s mother, she was seventeen years old,” he said weakly, yet his eyes were particularly gentle, so gentle that Cherish wanted to be jealous of that woman.

Cherish leaned against his shoulder, listening to the story, sitting side by side with him, accompanying him, and teasing him, “When she was 17, she wasn’t even an adult yet, and you, boss, were ruthless in destroying her…”

William smiled, “Yeah, I really was ruthless.”

Cherish looked closely, was he really drunk, or just pretending? But his eyes didn’t look sober.

“You must have loved her very much, right?” Cherish could tell from his eyes that only when soone truly loves a person would their eyes reveal such sadness.

Suddenly, Cherish’s jealousy turned into envy because she had a feeling that no one could replace Lewis’s mother in William’s heart.

No wonder he said she wasn’t a substitute, not anyone’s substitute. Perhaps he had decided to start anew, be sincere to Cherish, but she could never take the place of Lewis’s mother in his heart.

His silence, Cherish understood as consent.

Then, she laughed bitterly a few tis, asking, “Is she gone?”

As she asked, William suddenly propped himself up and looked at Cherish.

Under the light, she looked so beautiful, so sweet and serene, it made his heart ache.

“She has forgotten ,” he said with a smile, his eyes giving a suffocating feeling.

Cherish suddenly felt a pain in her heart, and dared not make eye contact with him. Then, a huge sense of loss overwheld her. Why was it like this?

Why did it feel like she wanted to cry when he talked about it?

“Is she still alive?” Cherish deduced from his words and suddenly wanted to know what kind of deep love could make soone not go find her, yet still remain unable to forget her.

“Alive.”

Upon hearing this, Cherish suddenly stopped asking, knowing that asking further would only make her feel sad.

“It’s getting late. I’ll help you get so rest. I have to go in a while, Sam is still waiting for

to bring him his laundry,” Cherish said, her gaze sowhat evasive.

She had to admit, she was jealous.
