Due to the urging of the Griffith family elders, Cherish’s identity card was at William’s place so she went there. She didn’t expect to see Yannis’ mom at Griffith’s.
Last ti at the Griffith ho, Cherish had definitely noticed the strange atmosphere between Yannis’ mom and William. Today, seeing her here, speaking honestly, Cherish felt uncomfortable.
But considering the relationship with Yannis, she thought maybe she was just being too sensitive and petty.
Grace happened to be coming down from the Vice President’s office and saw Cherish at the reception desk.
From a distance, she called her, “Cherish!”
Cherish saw her too and responded.
“Sister Grace, you’re here too?”
“Yeah, my in-laws wanted
to rest and focus on my pregnancy, but I can’t stay idle. So I begged them to let
work. The baby is still young, there’s still a long way to go until delivery, and I can’t just sit around. So, I asked big brother to let
help out at the company.”
Grace looked at Cherish with enthusiasm and, while talking, took Cherish’s hand.
“We didn’t get to talk much last ti, Cherish. Now that we’ve t again, let’s have a good chat. You’re not busy, are you? I’m free at the mont, too. Why don’t we go to the café across the street?”
Cherish wanted to say that she was actually quite busy. After submitting the materials, she still had to go back to the manga company.
“Don’t say no. You know I don’t have many friends in Sea City, and I have a good impression of you. Why don’t you keep this pregnant lady company for a while? I promise it won’t take long.”
Since Grace had already said that much, it would be rude for Cherish not to accompany her, so she agreed to go.
The Peninsula Café across the street had a classic and elegant decoration, and the aroma of coffee lingered in the air.
Grace couldn’t drink coffee, but she liked the sll, especially since she had to be careful with her diet now.
The conversation between the girls naturally revolved around the usual topics: bags, clothes, and n. Grace wasn’t so vulgar, but she couldn’t help praising Yannis and even asked how Cherish and William had t.
Cherish honestly told Grace about the inflatable doll incident, which made Grace laugh so hard she couldn’t close her mouth.
“Is it really true? I didn’t expect big brother to be so interesting. Lewis is amusing as well. Big brother must be delighted to have such a son!” Grace said, sipping her juice and laughing.
Indeed, William’s attitude towards Lewis could attest to that.
Cherish nodded noncommittally.
“But Cherish, you’re really open-minded to accept William’s child. After you get married, you’ll have your own children, and Lewis is still young. When he grows up, he’ll definitely want to find his biological mother. Have you asked William about Lewis’ mother? She’s actually quite pitiful.”
Grace’s words struck a chord with Cherish, and she imdiately reacted, asking, “Do you know anything about Lewis’ mother?”
