"Gods of Egypt?"

Link flipped through the scripts on his desk and found one titled "Gods of Egypt: Eye of Power," a screenplay brought over by Summit Entertainnt. It tells the story of a mortal thief nad Baker who is favored by the gods, assists the Egyptian god Horus in his revenge, and ultimately becos a benevolent ruler.

The production departnt thinks that historical mythological movies have done well at the box office in recent years, such as "Sleeping Spell," "Snow White and the Huntsman," "The Hobbit," etc., so they are planning to adapt this screenplay.

The production budget is estimated at 140 million US Dollars.

After reading the screenplay, Link rembered that there was a movie that resulted in a huge box office loss, causing an estimated 20% drop in Lionsgate Films' value, and it seed to be this "Eye of Power."

Knowing this, he naturally wouldn't fall into the sa trap again.

"The production cost of Gods of Egypt is too high, and such historical mythological films generally carry greater risks. My suggestion is to reduce the budget to below 100 million US Dollars or abandon the project entirely,"

Link said.

Ms. Stacey Schneider listened without objection, as Link was the big boss of the company. His word was law at Lionsgate Films, and any film project he was involved in assessing generally did well at the box office, while those without his participation tended to be diocre.

As this happened more often, Link's influence in the company significantly grew, and the senior executives at Lionsgate had learned to follow his opinions rather than go against him.

"Also, there's no need to split 'Allegiant' into two parts like 'The Hunger Gas' or 'Twilight.' The box office performance of this series has been diocre from the start, and dividing the finale into two films will likely worsen the results,"

Link picked up the 'Allegiant' script and said.

Seeing that 'Insurgent' had decent box office returns, the production departnt planned to follow the successful model of 'The Hunger Gas: Mockingjay Part 1' and 'Part 2' by splitting it into two parts. However, they forgot that the 'Twilight' and 'The Hunger Gas' series were successful because the original books were bestsellers with a strong fan base, and the movies were of high quality with excellent production values.

Because the movies were well-received, fans had the patience for the franchise, and thus, splitting the finale into two parts was sothing fans could tolerate.

However, the 'Divergent' series had been diocre from the start. Dividing the ending to shoot two parts hoping to earn more money might irritate the audience and lead to box office losses.

He rembered that the third movie in the 'Divergent' series perford very poorly at the box office, forcing Lionsgate Films to announce that the fourth part would be turned into a TV movie and broadcast on television to reduce advertising and promotion costs.

"Alright, I'll inform the production departnt later,"

Ms. Stacey Schneider said.

Link then discussed with her about several movies in production, including "Joyful Noise," "Escape from Escape Room," "The Shape of Water," "Phantom Thread," "Wonder," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and others.

So of these movie projects were brought to Lionsgate Films by the screenwriters or directors themselves, such as Jordan Peele, who is also one of the lead actors of the cody TV show "Key & Peele," the writer and director of "Escape from Escape Room."

So were excellent projects that Link picked out from a pile of screenplays - "The Shape of Water" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" were such cases. Others were recomnded by the production departnt of Lionsgate Films - "Joyful Noise" and "Wonder" were screenplays pushed forward by the departnt.

Then there's Palm Beach Films, which has two promising film projects this year, "Lady Bird" and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" - both female-centric movies. With the influence of the ' Too' movent, this genre of female-centric films looks promising.

After seeing off Ms. Stacey, Link set the screenplay aside, stretched his back, walked to the counter for a glass of ice water, and then saw Ivanka walk in with a beaming smile, dressed in a professional ladies' tube dress, looking very nice.
