Domination in America, Starting from being a Boxing Champion Chapter 623 - 458 New Album Leak3
Link shrugged his shoulders, indicating he was powerless.
Link's music video "That Girl" released on YouTube had reached 120 million views within a week.
The music video, in which Link himself starred alongside supermodel Eileen Hesterton, quickly went viral on major video platforms around the world.
There was also a "Captain Arica" version of "That Girl" whose views were no less than the original.
This official video released by the Captain Arica account mainly features a love story between Captain Arica and Agent Carter, and the plot was even more touching than the original music video.
It garnered over 100 million views in just ten days.
Apart from the initial success in sales and high viewer counts of the music video, the song also received high praise from the dia. Professional outlets such as Rolling Stone, Village Voice, and Billboard, among thirty others, rated it above 85, with other dia giving scores above 70, resulting in a combined score of 81.
Rolling Stone magazine awarded it an impressive 92 points, making it the sixth song this year to score over 90 points by the magazine.
The song was described as the freshest among all of Link's songs thus far, with a tone that was lancholic but not sad, like a young man experiencing the bittersweetness of first love.
It was noted that for a playboy like Link to write and perform a song with such a fresh and natural flavor was highly comndable and could easily make one doubt his public scandals if they weren't known to be true.
Due to the strong performance and reception of the first promotional single, dia predicted a significant chance for Link's fourth album to surpass the third in North Arican sales and even possibly match Adele's "21," with annual sales exceeding five million copies and continuing as the chart-topping album of the year.
The situation looked very promising.
However, at that ti, sothing bad happened.
Just three days before the formal release of the fourth album, the digital album was leaked.
All twenty songs from the album were published by a hacker group called Swagsec on iTunes' free download channel.
After releasing the tracks, the group also hacked Britney Spears' Twitter account, posting a tweet that said, "Sounds great, all good songs, I regret doing this, hhh," and included a link to download the songs for free.
After receiving the news, Link Music imdiately contacted Twitter and the iTunes music store, requesting the imdiate removal of the links and free tracks.
Although both platforms acted swiftly, it was revealed that between 11:24 PM and 12:12 AM, the album was downloaded for free a total of 358,000 tis.
Calculated at the price of $19.9 per digital album, the loss for Link and Link Music amounted to over seven million US dollars.
"Why did this happen? I told you to pay attention to the security of the album's sources, how could this still occur?!"
In the chairman's office of Link Music, Ivanka sat behind her desk with a cold expression, angrily glaring at several company executives.
"Chairman, after the hacking incident earlier this year, we imdiately strengthened the security of our online music library, completely isolated the internet from the intranet, and the network at the recording studio was not connected to the company's network; there isn't even internet access there. I consulted cybersecurity firms, and under these circumstances, it's impossible for hackers to penetrate our music library," explained George Capal, president of Link Music, wiping his sweat.
"But the tracks have been leaked. If it wasn't for hackers breaking into our music library, how else would the tracks get out?" Ivanka asked icily.
George Capal, Bob Harrison, Graham Goodall, Scott, and other executives of Link Music frowned and remained silent. Several executives, under Ivanka's scrutinous gaze, began to sweat on their foreheads.
Link, standing to the side, watched for a mont before saying to Ivanka, "Let's leave the hacker matter to the cybersecurity firm to investigate, and right now, we need to think about how to recoup the losses and minimize them as much as possible."
On hearing his words, Ivanka's expression gradually softened, and she coldly assigned tasks to the heads of each departnt.
The publicity departnt carried on with the original plans to promote the new album.
The legal departnt contacted the police and the FBI to investigate the leak, and based on the findings, they would determine the liability of the involved parties.
They also monitored various music platforms and websites, pursuing legal action against those who spread or sold the free digital album without authorization.
"Alright, Chairman!"
Relieved by Ivanka's deploynt of tasks, all executives rapidly accepted their assignnts and hurriedly left the office.
