Chapter 893: 892 Like taking sothing out of a bag

Chiefs Special.

A thought flashed through Donald’s mind, a chilling terror and shock surged from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, exploding in the depths of his scalp.

His entire body went numb.

Donald was completely frozen, losing even the ability to think, as he collided with Li Wei, rolling to the ground.

A breath stuck in his throat, unable to swallow yet impossible to cough out.

“It’s over.”

Donald’s mind went blank, extinguishing every thought and idea.

Mahos handed the football to Li Wei, silently retreating consecutively, moving out of the radar range of Donald and his teammates from the left side.

He gracefully navigated the at grinder where the offensive line and defensive line were entangled, effortlessly crossing the two-yard line and quickly cutting into the end zone.

At this mont, the Los Angeles Rams were entirely convinced that the Kansas City Chiefs would opt for a ground attack, pushing wave after wave into the central territory; only a small handful of players surrounded Kelsey.

No one noticed Mahos.

The quarterback, ghost-like after leaving the pocket.

Adjusting, turning.

Mahos saw the football flying in an arc over the line, extending his arms and effortlessly drawing it into his embrace.

Catch, control.

Standing firm.

Effortless.

Mahos stood in the end zone, holding the football high, scanning for the referee, silently inquiring with his eyes.

“Are you sure you’re not going to stop this group of crazies from wrestling before ?”

Everything, like taking sothing out of a bag.

It was so simple, so easy, so smooth that even Nantz was montarily stunned.

“Oh, the conversion is complete.”

Just that?

Nantz took half a beat to react.

“‘Chiefs Special’!”

“Wow, who would have thought? The Chiefs Special showed up here, catching everyone completely off guard—including Tony and —but this precisely captures the essence of trick plays.”

As he talked, the shock washed over him.

Even though today had already witnessed a series of classic monts, it was impossible to hold back emotions at this very mont.

“Reid and his team have done it again.”

“Faced with the attacking attempts of the Los Angeles Rams, faced with the lingering spark of hope from the Rams, faced with the Rams who refused to surrender or compromise, they shattered the Rams’ last remnants of resolve with the smartest yet toughest, cleverest yet boldest approach.”

“Wow!”

“The Kansas City Chiefs have practically replicated last year’s Super Bowl’s ‘Philly Special,’ a running back throwing a pass, a quarterback catching the ball, completely shaking up offensive formations.”

“Effortless yet thunderous in their dominance over the Los Angeles Rams, completing the two-point conversion.”

“And this ti, it was Li Wei passing, Mahos catching—and sohow, that scene doesn’t seem strange to at all.”

“With Li Wei and Mahos connecting for the second ti, Li Wei has likely made history again. He’s beco the first running back in history to have consecutive Super Bowl passing records.”

“If this ‘Chiefs Special’ had resulted in a touchdown, the history Li Wei has created would’ve been even more unbelievable. But even as it stands now, Li Wei deserves all the applause.”

As these words were spoken, the rcedes-Benz Do finally regained its composure—no longer cheering wildly but a full-blown celebration filled with laughter, applause, and whistles surged forth.

Who would’ve thought that the Super Bowl would offer such a ‘lighthearted mont?’

Was this Super Bowl exciting?

No. At least not in the traditional sense, nowhere near comparable to last year’s Super Bowl or even this year’s halfti showdown.

But simultaneously, this Super Bowl was indeed exciting—it highlighted the importance of defense, showcased the intricacies of the offense-defense chess match, and, of course, featured Li Wei’s remarkable performance.

One thing was certain: it certainly wasn’t boring.

“Now, the Los Angeles Rams may face a daunting challenge.”

“From the score perspective, ’18:0,’ there’s still a three-possession gap, and the ga has plenty of ti left—anything is still possible.”

“But the real challenge now for the Rams lies in how they can regain their composure, shake off their slump, and believe they can still win.”

“When they returned after halfti, the Rams did seem to possess such faith. But after enduring successive waves of pressure from Kansas City Chiefs on both offense and defense, how much team spirit does this rcenary squad still possess? How much energy can they still unleash? That’s an open question.”

“But.”

“Let’s wait and see: after all, McVay’s team made it all the way to the Super Bowl—not due to re luck. They’ve proven themselves. Now, they need to continue proving themselves.”

As rough and blunt as Nantz’s words might be, the truth was undeniable—this team of rcenaries was hastily thrown together during the offseason, hired to get the job done. They would try hard and fight hard, but it didn’t an they had fully integrated with the team.

Moreover, let’s not forget: the team’s leader, Goff, is only in his third year—still young, still raw.

Under these challenging circumstances, can Goff rise up to shoulder the burden? Or perhaps Gurley and other players can rally the team together?

Inside ESPN’s studio, it was dead quiet—everyone lost in their own thoughts, even forgetting to poke fun at poor Buck.

Even though the ‘League insiders’ overwhelmingly believe Kansas City Chiefs have the upper hand, given the breathtaking halfti showdown, audiences collectively expected the Super Bowl to deliver an intense clash with sparks flying.

However…

The Los Angeles Rams’ performance failed to et expectations—the offensive group remained sluggish up to this point; anwhile, the defensive group had brief monts of brilliance, with Donald burning himself out trying his hardest. But a single Donald wasn’t enough to turn things around—not when faced with a Li Wei on the opposing side.

The balance of victory and defeat was repeatedly overturned and disrupted by Li Wei’s precise and exceptional punches, throwing the situation completely off its trajectory.

The atmosphere in the studio was subtly awkward.

But when the cara accidentally glanced at Buck, his despondent, soul-crushed expression was genuinely amusing enough to cause suppressed laughter to escape.

Buck, with a face full of despair, was now absolutely certain:

He and Li Wei were fated to be incompatible, and it seed the two of them could never reconcile. Today, Li Wei was purely here to wreck things—even though the two teams were evenly matched, it was just Li Wei.

Damn Li Wei.

“Blair…” Lawson spoke up, his face sincere, hesitating out of sympathy. “How about we call off the bet?”

Buck’s eyes widened, and his face flushed red in an instant, looking almost ready to explode:

The bet, yes—there was a bet he had made in desperation. If this guy hadn’t brought it up, he might’ve nearly forgotten it existed. Bringing it up now was like hitting the sore spot.

A breath was caught in his chest.

“No way, I stick to my bets. It can’t be called off.” Buck squeezed out words through clenched teeth, spelling them out one at a ti as if he were gnashing his teeth to pieces.

“The ga isn’t over yet. The Los Angeles Rams might still co back—three possessions are nothing. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions so soon.”

“Heh.”

Buck grinned, forcing a smile that looked worse than crying.
