Chapter 697: 696 Fisheries Managent
He looked at it sideways, then upright, studying it from all angles.
In Li Wei’s hands, the phone seed like a Rubik’s Cube, constantly being flipped and turned.
Mahos knew instantly that Li Wei was deliberately mocking him.
Mahos took a deep breath, “Laugh then, just laugh if you want to.”
Li Wei’s face was serious, “No, I’m just surprised, I thought you preferred the Rihanna type.”
The woman in the photo was about thirty years old, wearing a leopard print bikini, displaying her graceful curves, her voluptuous chest, and a wasp-waisted figure that ford a moon bridge.
...
What was most special was the pose.
She lay on her back on the bed, curved her waist, raised her legs against the wall at the head of the bed, lifted her head, and looked backward.
The phone cara was positioned at the foot of the bed, instantly capturing the layers of undulating hills and endlessly extending legs, her black pearl-like skin shining beautifully, making it difficult to see her facial features clearly.
Still, one could discern the playful eyes and nose on her lon-seed face.
Li Wei couldn’t help but admire that the professionals were indeed different.
Mahos’s cheeks turned crimson red, “Li Wei!”
Seeing that Mahos was about to explode, Li Wei finally put away his joking mindset, “Last month?”
“So it was after you were nad the Arican League’s Best Offensive Player for the second ti?”
Mahos paused, thinking carefully, “Yes, that’s right!”
Li Wei, “It seems she might be managing a fishery, and you are just one of the little fish in there.”
Mahos, “Ha, what do you an?”
Li Wei, “How do you know it was leaked that night at David’s Garden?”
Mahos, “She sent a picture, from that night, I was in the garden.”
Mahos didn’t delve deeper, but Li Wei’s speculation was nonetheless confird—
That garden was a secret, no one wanted what occurred there to be revealed, including David Beckham himself who wouldn’t want Victoria to know.
Just imagine a rookie like Mahos, unexpectedly seeing his own photo in the garden, how guilty must that have made him feel?
Once Mahos replied to the ssage, it ant the fish had taken the bait.
Li Wei nodded, “I think she must have taken countless photos that night and kept backups, managing them like a fishery.”
“Before that, you were just a backup quarterback and a freshman, not worth much, so no one launched an attack on you.”
“With the new season starting, you beca the starting quarterback and won the Arican League’s Best Offensive Player several tis, many think you’re the MVP candidate for the regular season.”
“Now, you have value.”
“So, the fishery manager knows it’s ti to try and reel in the net.”
“She sends you so photos to see how you react, and your response confirms her speculation, so she starts the next part of her plan.”
Mahos gawked, hardly able to believe it, “But I didn’t reply to anything.”
Li Wei shook his head, “You replied with one line, ‘Who are you?’ That gave away your nervousness and naivety, a real veteran wouldn’t have responded like that.”
Mahos blinked his eyes, “Then how should I have replied?”
Li Wei, “If you were interested, you would have directly asked for an address, that would be a one-ti deal, you get what you want, she gets what she wants, and if both parties are satisfied with this trade, maybe it could turn into a long-term partnership.”
“If you’re not interested, you wouldn’t reply at all, because you know what it implies, and you know any response could beco evidence. More accurately, you should have deleted the photo right away.”
Mahos: …
He stared with his mouth slightly open, not even worried about flies flying in.
Li Wei looked at Mahos, “You didn’t delete the photo.”
Mahos knew that all the little thoughts inside his head couldn’t escape Li Wei’s eyes; he grabbed his hair in frustration and let out a disheartened howl.
“I just…”
“Rookie, I’m just taking a look. You know, this photo is great, the lighting and angle are perfect, I’m just using it for my personal collection.”
“Like a romance film, right, just like a romance film, it’s not a big deal.”
Li Wei shook his head gently, “No, Sherlock, it’s definitely not the sa thing.”
Mahos, “Why?”
Li Wei, “Erotic films and Rihanna are alike, they’re both a fantasy, a projection that one shouldn’t co across in ordinary daily life, at least that’s how Brittany sees it; but this is different.”
Li Wei showed his phone to Mahos.
“She’s within reach.”
Texts, of course, there were more than one.
The model had sent a torrent of texts afterward, photos from different angles, poses, and styles, as well as a variety of suggestive conversations—
Of course, Mahos hadn’t replied to any of them.
But the texts were not deleted either.
It must be said, this model really knew how to take photos, even without exposing too much skin, she could easily stir up desire, knowing what n want and then only revealing a bit while hiding much more.
Brilliant!
Moreover, that’s not the point, what the photos show or what the texts say doesn’t matter; the real killer blow was the last text.
The ti was a week ago; the content was an address.
An address in Kansas City.
If Li Wei’s radar wasn’t wrong, that address was on their way to the training base, sowhere they would pass by every morning and afternoon.
This is the crux—
She’s not Rihanna, but she was just a turn of the steering wheel away from Mahos.
“Sherlock, this is what Brittany cares about.”
Mahos froze, his brain crashed, grinding to a halt.
Then Mahos began to howl, “But, nothing happened, really, Rookie, you have to believe .”
“Okay, I admit, a few tis when I passed by, I really was tempted; and once, I stopped across the street from her apartnt building.”
“But just for a minute, just one minute, then I left straight away.”
“Nothing happened.”
Mahos held his head, despondent and tearless, his eyes filled with despair.
Li Wei was helpless—
Even an upright official finds it hard to settle dostic disputes, emotional matters are just not that simple.
Not to ntion actual cheating, how should emotional infidelity be quantified?
How should one draw the line between fantasizing about Rihanna and fantasizing about the next-door neighbor? Regardless of who the fantasy is about, if nothing happens in real life, then how do you define whether it’s actual cheating?
The rationale is there, but there are countless possibilities for each specific couple and specific situation.
Not to ntion outsiders, even the people involved can’t simply determine.
So that’s how it is with matters of the heart, they can’t be cut off or resolved easily.
Mahos sat down irritably, “So, what should I do?”
“I love Brittany, truly. I’ve never considered other girls, not once.”
“I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity, I want to propose, I don’t need to wait or consider anymore, I believe I’ve found the girl I want to be with for life.”
“But now…”
Mahos sank into the sofa, love lost, “Rookie, what should I do now? What if Brittany wants to break up, what do I do?”
