Capítulo 1633: Chapter 1632: Adding Fuel to the Fire
Humiliated. Stifled. Dim. Curled up. Squirming.
O’Brien’s cheeks burned with a sting, an indescribable mix of emotions destroying rationality, a string suddenly snapped without warning, his chest erupted like a constant volcano, and despite all efforts to suppress it, his tense muscles began to slightly tremble.
When the Houston Texans united to throw themselves fully into the ga with victory as their ultimate goal, little did they know that their actions, their efforts ant nothing in the eyes of the Kansas City Chiefs, resembling children playing or monkeys performing tricks; their struggle had beco a joke.
What’s worse is… JJ-Watt.
The Watt before him seed to have completely transford into a mber of the Kansas City Chiefs, thoroughly abandoning the mories of his days with the Houston Texans, joining the fervent wave at Arrowhead Stadium, dancing ruthlessly on O’Brien’s tattered dignity.
A slap, fiercely hitting O’Brien’s cheek.
His teeth almost grinding, O’Brien barely managed to control himself. He would prove he was right; he’d prove he was the only victor. He’d redeem himself by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs and humiliating Watt, making the whole world cheer and applaud him.
With a turn, O’Brien walked toward Watson, his gaze dark and profound, locked on the young man.
O’Brien saw the flas in Watson’s eyes, burning intensely with rage. Even though O’Brien was right in front of him, Watson’s gaze remained fixed on Li Wei’s back. Words were unnecessary to deeply feel the tumultuous emotions churning in Watson’s chest and mind.
This was good.
O’Brien simply needed to add fuel to the fire, “They don’t care about you.”
“They don’t believe you can counterattack; they don’t believe you can win. They are ignoring your presence and belittling your abilities. They think you’ll surrender like a coward; moreover, they’re ready to laugh at your failure and throw you onto the trash heap.”
“Because, in their eyes, you’re nothing but a piece of garbage.”
Watson hardened his fists, thrusting forward fiercely, his eyes bursting with murder, almost devouring O’Brien, “I’m not.”
O’Brien remained unyielding, staring dead straight at Watson, adding more fuel. “In JJ-Watt’s eyes, you’re just a caged little rabbit.”
Watson opened his mouth wide, furiously shouting back, “I! Am! Not! Grass!”
O’Brien responded with a decisive bump, “Then prove it to . No, prove it to yourself, so this damned stadium shuts up.”
Watson, “Ahhhhhhhhh!”
Screaming, roaring, full of passion.
O’Brien knew Watson was ready. He believed Watson was the future of the Houston Texans, and the next Super Bowl Champion, but now he needed Watson to step up and prove it. They could not wait any longer—
It must happen this season. Must!
This scene evidently caught the attention of the live broadcast as well.
“We believe… in fact, we know that at this mont, the entire League’s eyes are on this ga. No one wants to miss the opening of the new season.”
“More importantly, no one wants to miss the reenactnt of the Arican Conference final between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans.”
“The Kansas City Chiefs show an impressive competitive state, quickly adjusting to the rhythm, relying on tactical false passes and runs to lure the enemy in, creating opportunities through route run coverage and breaking gaps, and the final performance lies with the Professor.”
“Still the Professor, of course the Professor, undeniably the Professor, just like the opening ga of the 2017 season, where the Professor made a kickoff return touchdown appear out of nowhere. This ti, the Professor completed an eighty-five-yard long return touchdown, establishing a lead for the team in less than thirty seconds after opening.”
“Evidently, when the entire League inside and out anticipates the return of Football, the three-ti defending champions share the sa sentint. Despite the lackluster anticipation or empty feeling after creating history, the desire for championships and victory grows wildly during the long wait and tough situation. This difficult period instead becos a journey for the Kansas City Chiefs to settle down calmly, regain their fighting spirit and awaken their original intentions.”
“Then, it’s all released in the first offense, proving their strength and desire through action. That fiercely burning fla hasn’t disappeared; on the contrary, it seamlessly connects to the beginning of the Super Bowl, continuing that spirit and will, awakening the dormant Arrowhead Stadium once again.”
“Amazing!”
“Undoubtedly, the Kansas City Chiefs still hold promise; next up is the response from the Houston Texans.”
“From the defense aspect, JJ-Watt’s departure forces O’Brien to adjust the defensive frontline’s tactical manual, expecting linen to play more roles. But such attempts lack deterrence in front of the Beast, exposing a series of flaws, posing a challenge for O’Brien.”
“So, what about the offensive group?”
“Last season, Watson embraced transformation and growth, becoming one of the League’s most anticipated young quarterbacks. Yet, re anticipation isn’t enough; during the Arican Conference final, Watson’s performance was unsatisfactory. If the Houston Texans wish to progress further, Watson needs to demonstrate calr and tougher performances at critical monts, bearing the team’s offensive duty and proving he is the quarterback material for winning the Super Bowl.”
“During this offseason, Hopkins’ departure causes Watson to lose his most reliable, strongest passing target, aning the heavy responsibility on Watson’s shoulders increases further. O’Brien should already have a Plan B ready. Now is the ti for him to showcase his ability.”
“Honestly, I don’t expect anything from the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense, because we all know the abilities of Mahos and Li Wei, the iron triangle ford by Hill, Kelsey, and Hardman won’t disappoint. A new season with a fresh atmosphere, but the Kansas City Chiefs remain the familiar Kansas City Chiefs.”
“What truly excites is the Houston Texans’ offense, whether O’Brien and Watson can perform magic, turning the situation around from last season.”
“Now, finally, the answer is about to be revealed.”
Rubbing fists, itching to try—
The attitude in the live broadcast represented the League’s top-down attitude as well. From Mahos to Jackson, in the past two seasons, new-generation quarterbacks continuously erged with strong presence, both threatening Li Wei’s position as the League’s First Man, joyous and inspiring, sparking cheers for the birth of superstars.
So, is it possible for a new-generation quarterback to lead the League for the third consecutive season?
Garoppolo? Josh Allen? This year’s draft top pick, Joe Burrow?
Or perhaps… Watson?
In such anticipation, Watson led the Houston Texans offensive group onto the field, becoming the spotlight, the center, drawing attention, reaching a new peak, and through the TV screen, the boiling heat from all directions of the North Arican continent can be felt, crazily enveloping Arrowhead Stadium.
