Chapter 1198: Chapter 1197: VIP Treatnt
A brief greeting, Weisser made a gesture of invitation, stepping aside to welco Li Wei.
It wasn’t until this mont that Hamilton had a chance to step forward and greet Li Wei, “Where’s the promised cloak?”
Li Wei looked down at his T-shirt and jeans, a smile forming on his lips, “Left it at Hogwarts Magic School.”
Hamilton hadn’t expected such a response at all and burst into laughter, glanced at Weisser, and said in a low voice, “Looks like they have sothing they want.”
Li Wei seed a bit surprised, “I thought you were a driver for rcedes-Benz.”
Hamilton shrugged lightly, “I drive for them, doesn’t an I sell my soul to them.”
Li Wei laughed out loud but quickly regained his composure, while Weisser in front turned around as Li Wei and Hamilton exchanged glances, their mouths curving into a slight uncontrolled smile.
Weisser seed to not notice their conversation at all and continued leading the way, “I hope you don’t mind our arrangents, the Marriott Hotel’s location is not in the heart of the city. Since this is your first ti in Austin, we thought you’d be keen to experience the atmosphere of the city center.”
“Like having to stay next to Central Park when going to New York.”
A beat later, Li Wei realized what was happening, his mouth curving into a faint smile, “Sorry, I might need to contact Marriott Hotel’s legal departnt.”
Pfft!
Low laughter rippled around them.
Li Wei spread his hands, “I guess I have no choice, I need to make a complaint, I know nothing.”
The offhand humor lightened the atmosphere completely.
So, what were they discussing?
Ritz-Carlton, Li Wei is their spokesperson.
As the most luxurious resort brand under Marriott Group, the collaboration between Ritz-Carlton and Li Wei has indeed caused much discussion within the industry.
Logically speaking, Li Wei should be staying at Ritz-Carlton during his travels—
Austin doesn’t have a Ritz-Carlton.
Naturally, Li Wei should stay at a Marriott Hotel, but that’s not the case. Ritz-Carlton and Marriott are different brands under the sa group, with Li Wei signing with Ritz-Carlton but having no connection with Marriott, so there’s no need to worry about endorsent conflicts.
Clearly, rcedes-Benz is well aware of this. Their legal departnt probably handles such situations often.
So, when Li Wei ca to Austin, rcedes-Benz arranged another hotel for him.
Austin is an oasis that emphasizes harmonious coexistence between city and nature, with a central city that features a Palm Park, a Waller Creek, and a Lady Bird Lake, where natural scenery perfectly blends with the urban skyline.
On the surface, it looks the sa as New York but is more natural and harmonious. Even in the heart of the city, you can feel the traces of nature everywhere.
Understandably, living in this city center is quite a different experience.
Marriott Group also has hotels in Austin, more than one, but none of them have the advantage in location or area to grab the pri spots.
Li Wei turned to Weisser, “So where are we now?”
Weisser couldn’t help but laugh, “You don’t know where you are?”
Li Wei shrugged lightly, “I hope you’re not planning on doing a ‘Breaking Bad’ and finding a place in the desert to bury , just silently praying.”
“No, we won’t,” Weisser answered seriously, “We’re worried about a reversal of fortune.”
Hamilton, “Hahaha.”
Weisser, “We’re at the Fairmont, in the heart of Austin, to be precise, in the Fairmont Resort area near Lady Bird Lake, offering a disturbance-free oasis for our VIPs.”
Li Wei also nodded seriously, “I’ve heard its na in movies.”
Hamilton burst out laughing again, mainly because of Li Wei’s tone and expression, which expressed sheer sarcasm, and realizing his faux pas, quickly explained, “Li Wei, you’ve been corrupted by the SNL shows.”
Fairmont, a resort brand on par with Ritz-Carlton, is even a competitor, no wonder Weisser pointed it out specifically.
Classically elegant, with a wide view, it feels like an ancient Roman bathhouse. Although it’s already late November, inside the hotel, it’s still warm as spring, with bright but not glaring light wrapping gently around you, keeping the outside cold and bleak at bay.
The room rcedes-Benz arranged for Li Wei was, to put it mildly, like a villa; Li Wei barely had ti to tour all the rooms—
He didn’t know why he needed four bedrooms while staying alone.
The entire starting lineup of the Kansas City Chiefs could fit in and it would still feel spacious.
Looking out of the window, the sparkling pool, lush green trees, and ivory-white and light brown marble create an elegant building, with palm trees, beach chairs, and hot spring water that dazzles you. Clearly situated among modern skyscrapers, it feels like traveling through ti back to ancient Ro.
It’s not just the space; the lighting and layout create an atmosphere that completely relaxes you.
Taking his gaze back, Li Wei said with a serious face, “I finally understand why the dia always says my apartnt is like a monk’s cell.”
Hamilton lost it again, his smile blossoming, “You really should find a new place to live.”
Weisser remained humble, “Very pleased that you like it here.”
“Tomorrow is practice day; we have a special car ready to take Mr. Li Wei to the racetrack; there’s one thing we need to remind Mr. Li Wei about.”
“There might be a film crew accompanying you, including a caraman, a lighting engineer, a sound crew, etc., with a team of about five to seven people.”
Li Wei raised his chin slightly, signaling that he was listening.
As expected, Weisser wasn’t finished, “Currently, Formula One is working with Netflix on a docuntary, which was hugely successful in its first season last year, and thus a second season is being produced this year. We’ve signed a collaboration agreent with Netflix, and although they can’t film in our garage, we still need to cooperate with them to shoot so footage.”
“Having learned that Mr. Li Wei is coming, Netflix is very interested. They don’t have a detailed plan yet, but they would like to follow you to capture so footage for profiling.”
“What does Mr. Li Wei think?”
Next to him, Hamilton sneakily made exaggerated facial expressions at Li Wei, looking like he was having a facial spasm.
But Li Wei imdiately nodded without hesitation, “No problem.”
Hamilton couldn’t believe his ears.
Weisser was also very surprised, montarily stunned, as the rumors suggested Li Wei was particularly difficult, and he was ntally prepared for a tug-of-war but didn’t expect it to go so smoothly—
Just like that?
Seeing Weisser’s expression, Li Wei’s smile blossod completely, yet he didn’t further explain, “That’s it?”
Weisser finally ca to his senses, unable to decipher:
Is Li Wei foolish or clever?
His gaze lingered on Li Wei once more, trying to discern sothing, yet he found Li Wei facing his scrutinizing gaze with open composure.
Calm, straightforward, poised, with a slight hint of smile in his eyes.
The answer was as clear as day.
