Chapter 1160: 1159 Spiritual ntor

Since Mahos has known Li Wei, Li Wei has been playing the role of a leader, guiding them, inspiring them, helping them move forward shoulder to shoulder. Gradually, they got used to Li Wei’s all-knowing and all-capable nature.

However, they forgot that even Li Wei sotis needs help. Relying on him alone to bear the weight of the entire team, eventually they could not beco the complete Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, it’s their turn to help Li Wei.

But, how should they help?

In Mahos’ view, liking is liking, not liking is not liking, it’s the simplest thing in the world, why hesitate?

Mahos has never doubted or wavered in his feelings for Brittany; for him, things have always been simple and straightforward.

Of course, entering the Professional League for the past two years, their positions and states have changed, causing Mahos and Brittany to face so difficulties. Things began to gradually beco complicated. Yet revisiting the tis during school, the sweetness and happiness were vividly clear.

Mahos looked at Li Wei, “So, do you like Thalia?”

Li Wei was taken aback and did not answer.

Mahos didn’t hide his confusion, “I’m not that smart, but I know that liking, like sneezing, cannot be hidden.”

“Perhaps, you’ve had the answer all along, you’re just afraid to admit it.”

Li Wei breathed out softly, “Sherlock, things aren’t that simple.”

Mahos shook his head, “I disagree.”

“In this world, the truly difficult thing is to et soone I like who also happens to like . More often, liking is one-sided and unreciprocated, eventually just passing by each other helplessly; so people must hide their affection, always unable to let the other know.”

“So, when encountering mutual feelings, why hesitate?”

“Liking is just heart-pounding.”

“Seeing delicious food, the first thought is that Brittany would also like it; seeing a fun movie, the first thought is to watch it with Brittany; experiencing happiness, the first thought is to share it with Brittany.”

“When facing sothing, I think of Brittany’s feelings; when encountering difficulties, I long to share them with Brittany. She has always been in my mind.”

“That kind of emotion can’t be hidden or ignored, it’s that simple.”

“The last ti unexpectedly seeing Ariana at Arrowhead Stadium and today unexpectedly eting Thalia at the airport did feel different, right?”

“So, what’s the answer?”

Buzzz, buzzz, buzzz.

The airplane engines roared against the eardrums, the constant noise and increasing pressure slowly brought the world into a vacuum, and Mahos’ voice seed to grow distant, harder to hear; but his gaze was always conveying a steadfast ssage, leaving Li Wei no escape.

Thump, thump.

The heart, raced uncontrollably, the answer already on the tip of the tongue, ready to burst out.

However, in the end, Li Wei swallowed it back down.

Mahos watched as Li Wei was about to speak but stopped abruptly at the last mont, unable to hide his disappointnt.

“Rookie, things really aren’t that difficult.”

Li Wei exhaled a long breath, “But what if Thalia isn’t yet an adult?”

Mahos: …

A breath caught in his throat, then Mahos saw the bitter smile at the corner of Li Wei’s mouth; aningful, beyond words, hiding too many indescribable complexities.

Then, Mahos slightly leaned in closer and raised his voice in Li Wei’s ear.

“Then it’s just perfect.”

“Give yourself so ti, and give her so ti, let ti provide the answer.”

“You know, in our youth, everything cos so fiercely and intensely, quickly co and go, sotis even before we can notice, it’s already flipped everything upside down.”

“Only through the sedintation and test of ti can we see our true emotions.”

“Perhaps, it’s just a montary impulse, boiling with youthful fever, short-lived affection that cools down after a few months, then she quickly turns to like another boy; maybe, you’re just troubled for a mont, confused by her candor and straightforwardness, but once you calm down you can see your true heart.”

“Of course, maybe there is another possibility.”

“So, there is no need to worry, just let it be, the answer will naturally erge.”

Li Wei turned his head towards Mahos, revealing a hint of surprise and astonishnt.

Mahos nudged Li Wei with his shoulder, “Rarely do I get to be your life ntor, huh, feels really good, how about it, do you feel a bit of admiration for ?”

That smug and arrogant look instantly shattered the life ntor image he had just built up.

The corners of Li Wei’s mouth gently lifted into a smile, his mood lightening again, he didn’t expose Mahos but nodded slightly with a face full of admiration.

“Professor Mahos, so, when’s your next TED talk scheduled?”

Mahos rubbed his hands excitedly, triumphantly leaning back into his chair, intending to show off with a deliberately exaggerated posture propping his foot over the other, then his knee hit the back of the chair in front:

Thwack.

The air suddenly went silent.

Li Wei: …

Mahos: …

That knee was right on the spot Sam had just recovered from an injury.

That single sound left both Li Wei and Mahos stiff in place, the blood drained from their cheeks, their hearts stopped beating.

Imagine the news headline:

“Mahos flaunts too much, knee injury relapses, misses the London Bowl”.

Who knows how the Kansas City Chiefs fans would take that news.

Just in a second, Mahos quickly rubbed his knee and let out a long breath, “It’s fine, fine, there’s no special feeling, everything’s normal, this indeed proves it’s healed.”

Li Wei turned to Mahos, “Are you sure?”

Can’t bla them for making a mountain out of a molehill.

Only players who have truly experienced injuries can understand that wariness, anxiety, unease, and fear of repeat injuries—deep inside there’s always a knot holding the reins, stopping them from letting go to run freely.

Mahos bent to move his knee, perford a simple stretch, confird once more, finally showing complete relaxation.

“Sure!”

The smile climbed back onto his face.

Then Mahos turned to look at Li Wei, exchanging a glance, recalling their earlier absurdity and tension, unable to hold back as they both burst into laughter.

Mahos waved his hands continuously, “Upon arriving at Wembley, we need to prepare for warm-up and training properly, otherwise we’ll be in trouble during the actual ga playing half-heartedly like this.”

Li Wei, “One step at a ti. With injury recovery, not only the body needs ti, but the mind does too. Don’t worry, the team has us.”

Mahos looked at Li Wei aningfully, “Our captain is facing growing pains for the first ti, huh.” He couldn’t finish without breaking into laughter.

Li Wei spread his hands, “Grab the opportunity, once we reach Wembley there won’t be ti.”

Mahos’ smile froze at the corners of his mouth, instantly unable to laugh, hurriedly clearing his throat, holding onto his knee muttering as if checking it, yet his occasional glances at Li Wei betrayed him.

It seems, even the most upright Mahos in the team was influenced by them for the worse, and from such perspective, Brittany was right–

They were leading Mahos astray.
