Juho stood with his back against the bar, a glass of Negroni in his hand. His attention was on his phone, tapping a checkmark beside the last na on his to-do list.
He was at Club D, a gentlen’s club perched atop a luxury hotel in downtown Z City.
It was Monday, and making sure his n had distributed enough supplies to cover the week at every hotspot in the network was part of his routine.
"Soone’s already in the lounge?" he asked casually, taking a sip.
From where he stood, he could see the doors to the private VIP room upstairs were shut, with two n in black suits leaning against the balcony railing. Several more had been stationed outside the club’s upper entrance when he arrived ten minutes earlier.
Not the club’s security, but the underlings of whoever was inside that room.
"Yeah, VVIP," the bartender replied from behind him. "It’s unusual. He never cos this early. Who hits a club when it’s barely six? And on a Monday? But he’s a regular. Guess he really likes the place."
"Or the guy just doesn’t have a life," Juho remarked blandly, opening a ga on his phone as he waited for his n to finish the delivery in the back kitchen.
As his gaze dropped to the screen, a lovely blonde woman in a sultry black mini dress approached, her hand settling on his chest.
"Leaving so early, handso?" she teased, stroking him lightly. "You haven’t replied to my ssages since our last ti together. I thought I’d never see you again."
His cold eyes narrowed slightly at the red nails pressing into his white shirt, before he rearranged his expression into a charming smile.
"I’ve been busy, dear," he said smoothly. "Aren’t you supposed to be in the lounge? You’re the prettiest flower here. Don’t keep your VVIP waiting."
A pout blood on her lips as she wrapped both arms around his waist, her mouth brushing boldly near his ear.
"No VVIP could drive wild the way you did," she whispered, her voice thick with seduction. "I’ve been waiting forever to feel your big, hard cock inside again, darling. Co with . We could have so fun in one of the lounges before the guests arrive. You have to wait for your n anyway, don’t you?"
The smile vanished from Juho’s face.
The blue eyes blinking up at him were bright and full of hope.
A week ago, they would have been a pleasant sight to look at. Now, all he felt was his blood running cold.
Another pair of blue eyes slipped into his mind. Deeper in shade, sharper, more brilliant, and far more painful to think of.
"I was only in love with the version of you I imagined in my head, not who you really are, Juho."
She’d stared up at him with those eyes when she said it, her voice as cold as her gaze.
The corner of his mouth twitched upward.
What the hell had she been talking about anyway? He didn’t even know who he really was.
He tilted his head away from the lips brushing his ear, his attention returning to his phone. "What a sha, dear," he said calmly. "I have no interest in ravaging you today. Please leave alone."
The girl’s face twisted with hurt, teeth sinking into the red lipstick she had just reapplied before approaching him.
Her lips parted as if to spit a few curses back, but the ice settling over his handso face warned her off. Knowing better than to embarrass herself further, she stepped back and stord off toward the staff door, heels clicking sharply against the floor.
"Your reputation precedes you, bro," the bartender clicked his tongue, wiping the glasses briskly behind the counter. "I’ve never seen a guy walk into this place and still be able to say no to a face like that."
"Uh-huh," Juho replied absently. "Then tell her to go find one of those guys."
Just as he was about to start a ga, footsteps echoed from the balcony above.
From the entrance, a group of n dressed in casual clothes walked in. Behind them followed a girl in an oversized black high-collared jacket.
Juho’s eyes widened instantly.
She was hidden behind sunglasses, a mask, and a hat, but after observing her so closely during their photoshoots, after his brain had morized her fra and those unmistakable honey-golden locks spilling down her chest, it wasn’t hard for him to tell who she was at all.
"You said the guy in the lounge is a regular, didn’t you?" Juho asked casually, though his gaze stayed fixed on the way the n guided Kaija toward the private room. "Any idea who he is?"
"Ever heard of the Kosonen Group?" the bartender replied. "Not Charles Kosonen, but his older brother. Na’s Max, I think.
"He always cos here with so gorgeous woman, or sotis just snatches one of the girls working here and leaves with them. He’s even got an executive suite permanently booked a few floors down to spend the night.
"The room service staff gossip about his place all the ti. Say he’s got all kinds of kinky shit set up. Whips, cuffs, butt plugs, clamps. You na it. Man, you have no idea, he even got caras and tripods around his bed!
"Looks like he’s found a new one today. First ti I’ve seen soone walk into this place covered up like that, though. Guy’s definitely got wild taste."
The bartender laughed as he shook his head.
A laugh escaped Juho as well, but there was no humor in it.
Ice settled over his handso features, green eyes sharpening with sothing close to murderous intent at both the na, and the disturbing details spilling from the bartender’s mouth.
Kaija was inside that room now, with Max Kosonen, who obviously had a taste for violent sex, and... filming himself during it?
He had zero idea why Kaija was seeing that man in a place like this, at this hour. But when he caught glimpses of Max Kosonen at the judges’ table last night, he could already tell the man was soone far more formidable, if not more dangerous than the infamous Charles Kosonen sitting next to him.
The two guards in black suit had followed Kaija in after she entered, the four escorting her taking their place to guard the doors.
For so reason, not only did Juho have a bad feeling about it, but that burning irritation had flared back to life in full force under his skin.
The kitchen door swung open, and four n stepped out, all dressed in white shirts and long black pants like Juho.
"Young Master," one of them said, approaching. "Supply fully loaded and checked. Ready to leave whenever you are."
"Go back first and tell my father everything’s done," Juho replied coolly, slipping his phone into his pocket. "Tell him I’m staying for a few more drinks, maybe picking up a girl."
"As you wish, Young Master," the man said. "Shall we leave the car for you then?"
"Good idea. Go find soone nearby to co pick you up."
"Yes, Young Master," the man answered with a bow, the other three following suit.
They headed upstairs and out through the entrance, leaving their young master lingering by the bar, downing the rest of his drink in one go.
"Another Negroni for you, bro?" the bartender asked.
"No," Juho replied with a faint smile, sliding a S$500 bill under his hand and extending it over the counter. "How many spare waistcoats like the one you’re wearing do they have in the back room? Go get one, and et in the restroom. And keep your mouth shut about it too, bro."
