Shen Yanchen booked a flight ho from abroad at the last minute, disregarding his work over there, and went straight to the hospital as soon as he got off the plane.

He thought Miaomiao was sick and had a high fever that wouldn’t go away. When Gu Qimiao called him a few days ago, she told him not to worry, but today when he called her to ask about the situation, he could clearly hear her choking back tears. She was obviously very worried.

"Honey? Why are you here?!"

Shen Yanchen, looking a bit exhausted from his hurried journey, imdiately walked to the bedside. He wrapped his arm around the petite Gu Qimiao and looked down at the child on the bed, asking, "How is it?"

Gu Qimiao, her eyes red and full of worry, said, "The fever hasn’t gone down yet. The doctor said that if it doesn’t go down soon, there’s a risk of brain damage..."

Shen Yanchen took a deep breath and looked at the child on the bed, feeling helpless. He could only comfort her, saying, "It will be okay. Don’t worry. Go get so rest for a while."

Seeing the bloodshot eyes she had, he guessed that she hadn’t slept well in the past few days.

However, given Miaomiao’s dire condition, there was no way she could rest peacefully.

The child was also suffering and hadn’t slept well. After a while, he started crying loudly. Shen Yanchen gently picked up the child and rocked him softly. The child had cried so much that his voice was hoarse, looking extrely pitiful.

"The child cries, and you cry too." He held the child in one arm and pulled Gu Qimiao into his embrace with the other, soothing her by stroking her head.

She had probably been enduring alone for too long. When he wasn’t there, she was strong and shouldered everything herself. But whenever he was around, she would release her hidden emotions, which was why he had to rush back urgently.

When he heard her suppressed sobs over the phone, it felt like a knife was carving through his heart.

At night, the child’s temperature lowered a bit, but it fluctuated again during the night. Neither of them slept much. Both were worried about the other but refused to rest. As dawn approached, Gu Qimiao finally fell asleep lightly on his shoulder, waking up at the slightest sound from the child.

After staying in the hospital for two consecutive days, Shen Yanchen had to go with He Ye to handle so urgent matters at the company. Before leaving, he reassured her multiple tis that he would be back soon.

In the afternoon, Shen’s mother went ho after checking on the child to prepare lunch for them. Suddenly, a nurse wearing a mask ca in and told Gu Qimiao to go downstairs to get dicine for the child.

Gu Qimiao didn’t think much of it. Given the child’s special condition, it seed normal for the doctor to urgently prescribe so dication. Thinking it wouldn’t take long, she took the prescription and went downstairs.

There weren’t many people at the window at that ti, only four or five in line. Just as it was Gu Qimiao’s turn, a voice from behind called out to her, "Miaomiao?"

Gu Qimiao turned her head and saw Lu Jinxi, giving a faint smile. This ti, he did not call her "Yinyin."

"Why are you at the hospital?"

Gu Qimiao didn’t explain, she only said, "I’m sorry I didn’t go to see you, knowing you were back."

"It’s okay. I didn’t rember you a while ago either. I had amnesia. It was only in the past few days that a lot of mories ca back. There’s also sothing I need to tell you..."

Just then, it was Gu Qimiao’s turn. He stopped speaking, waiting for her to get the dicine. Once she was done, he said, "I have always felt sorry for mistaking you for Yinyin before..."

Gu Qimiao smiled and shook her head, "It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re alright. I’m really happy to see you again."
