The winter snow had frozen the river surface, and the village on the island was covered in a blanket of white.
"Yinyin."
The girl turned her head, looking at the man standing under the bare tree, a smile curved on her lips, she walked towards him with the basket of vegetables in her hand.
"Where’s Ah Ma?"
The man reached out and took the basket from her, saying, "Ah Ma asked to co and find you."
Huo Nanyin looked at the man walking beside her. Although his face was familiar, his personality was completely different, but she could be sure that he was the one.
Three years ago, a fisherman from the neighboring village fished out a person, and she happened to pass by with Ah Ma at that mont. When that familiar face appeared in front of her, she couldn’t believe it was him.
Even though they had been apart for so many years, she could still recognize him at a glance.
At that ti, he was sent to the village clinic. His injuries were severe, nearly fatal. She visited him every day, stayed with him, even though she almost lost her life because of him once. But inside, she still loved him, not wanting him to leave this world.
When he opened his eyes for the first ti after many days, she stood far away from the crowd, looking at him expectantly and anxiously. But his gaze swept over everyone, including her, with bewildernt and unfamiliarity.
Clearly, he didn’t recognize her. That mont, her heart was filled with unspeakable disappointnt, thinking that the person she had been missing all along had already forgotten her. Later she found out he had amnesia.
He didn’t know why he appeared here, didn’t rember what had happened before, even forgot his own na.
Now, he was no longer called Lu Jinxi, but "Ah Shui", because people said he ca from the water.
She never ntioned anything about his past, even though she knew it all, she never uttered a word.
Later, there was a village eting about his living situation. She voluntarily suggested letting him stay with them. Ah Ma was old and said that having him around could be helpful. Ah Ma had a kind heart and didn’t object, always treating both of them as her own children.
The current Lu Jinxi had completely lost the gloomy deanor of the past. His eyes were full of tenderness as he looked at Huo Nanyin. He reached out and gently brushed the snow off her head, grabbed her hand, and walked quickly towards ho.
Here, there was no city noise, no restless hearts, just simplicity and cleanliness. She wished she could live like this with him for a lifeti, even though he had forgotten who she was.
"Yinyin, Ah Ma took to a blind date with the young girl from the Huang family today."
Huo Nanyin smiled and said, "That young girl has always liked you."
He furrowed his brows, looked at her, and said, "But I don’t want to marry her." He put the basket on the ground, stood in front of her, turned her around and said, "Yinyin, you’re not my real sister anyway. Let’s get married. I think it’s great to be with you."
Hearing this, Huo Nanyin smiled gently, took his hand off her shoulder slowly, and said calmly and softly, "Brother Ah Shui, did you forget? Don’t you want to find your past? What if you had soone you loved before? What if they co looking for you soday?"
Lu Jinxi shook his head, "I don’t rember, and I don’t want to look for it. I just want to live here with you, it makes happy."
Huo Nanyin smiled gently at him, but her gaze was sowhat distant. It turned out, even without the past, they could fall in love again...
