"Director, which departnt are we going for the consultation?"

Ruan Liuzheng, following beside Zhao Heng, asked curiously.

Her current job is to follow Zhao Heng while observing and learning. How much she can learn depends on Ruan Liuzheng’s personal comprehension.

If she can learn even half of Zhao Heng’s expertise, it would benefit Ruan Liuzheng for a lifeti.

However, Zhao Heng is now considered the pinnacle of Eastern Hospital’s dical staff, so learning half is already an exaggeration.

"Obstetrics."

Zhao Heng said briefly.

"Huh? Obstetrics?"

Ruan Liuzheng was a bit confused. Although the ward now admits complex cases, there shouldn’t be consultations from the obstetrics departnt.

"It’s a joint consultation. We’re going as the anesthesiology center."

Zhao Heng explained briefly.

"So it’s a joint consultation."

Ruan Liuzheng nodded knowingly.

This joint consultation, also called a hospital-wide multidisciplinary expert consultation, is the highest level of consultation at Eastern Hospital, requiring deputy director or director-level doctors from each departnt to discuss the case together.

Usually, very few patients et the standard for such a consultation.

"What kind of patient requires a hospital-wide joint consultation?"

Ruan Liuzheng asked with so doubt.

"You’ll know when we get there."

Zhao Heng didn’t explain much. Tian Zhen, as the head nurse, only heard a general idea when she received the call.

But a patient who can trigger a hospital-wide multidisciplinary consultation must not have a minor illness or ailnt. It might be so challenging situation never handled before.

"Okay."

Ruan Liuzheng nodded.

Following a director allows one to witness significant experiences every day.

Now, those that require Zhao Heng to step in are all complex cases, which so doctors in smaller places might never encounter in their lifeti, let alone treat.

Therefore, in a hospital, especially a major hospital, having a good ntor is an incredibly important matter!

The circle of a resident doctor and that of a director is worlds apart.

Having a good ntor not only ans learning a lot of knowledge and skills but also eting more influential people.

For example, soone like Liu Ziang. Under normal circumstances, as a visiting physician, Ruan Liuzheng wouldn’t even get to speak to him, let alone drink hand-brewed coffee in his office. This is all because of Zhao Heng’s influence.

The concept of enjoying the shade under a big tree applies here.

However, while Zhao Heng was initially looking for a big tree, he is now close to becoming a towering tree himself.

Soon, Zhao Heng and Ruan Liuzheng arrived at the obstetrics eting room.

Upon entering the eting room, Zhao Heng saw that Director Huang Jincheng from Cardiac Surgery was already seated inside. Beside him sat Jiang Rui, an attending physician from Cardiac Surgery who had recently returned from Johns Hopkins dical School.

Jiang Rui had already been ntioned earlier as being a kind of fanboy of Song Chen.

"Director Zhao, you’re here."

Huang Jincheng smiled kindly at Zhao Heng as he entered.

"Director Huang, please don’t call director; just call Xiao Zhao."

Zhao Heng imdiately replied upon hearing this.

He could accept others calling him director, but with soone as prestigious as Huang Jincheng calling him director, it felt a bit odd.

"Your deputy director position was appointed by the hospital; who wouldn’t respect that? Besides, with your level, it won’t be long before you beco a director."

Huang Jincheng smiled dismissively.

"The title is awarded for people to use; otherwise, why bother evaluating?"

Huang Jincheng continued after a pause.

anwhile, Jiang Rui, the attending physician sitting next to Huang Jincheng, felt a mix of emotions when he saw Zhao Heng and heard Huang Jincheng refer to him as "Director."

His senior, Song Chen, overseas, had ntioned Zhao Heng more than once since going abroad.

It seems his senior’s judgnt is indeed sharp. A twenty-five-year-old deputy director is probably unique nationwide. More impressively, despite his appointnt as deputy director, the only reactions from others were envy, jealousy, and hatred, with no one questioning Zhao Heng’s capability.

This indicates that Zhao Heng’s abilities have already been recognized throughout the hospital, despite any challenges.

As for Jiang Rui, a dical doctorate from Johns Hopkins dical School and an attending physician in the Cardiac Surgery Departnt of Eastern Hospital, he was considered outstanding by any asure.

However, compared to Zhao Heng, the difference was like that between a pheasant and a phoenix!

"Director Zhao, you’re here."

Zhou Hong, the obstetrics director seated at the head of the table, also greeted Zhao Heng warmly.

Whatever others thought didn’t concern these big figures, but to people like Huang Jincheng and Zhou Hong, having a young talent like Zhao Heng in the hospital was a great thing for the entire hospital and even the entire industry.

This showed there was a future for the dical profession, contrary to so claims of a generation gap and impending declines.

Zhao Heng naturally greeted both Huang Jincheng and Zhou Hong, engaging in casual small talk, as both had been senior directors for many years, weathering many storms in the industry.

Though Zhao Heng felt his dical expertise surpassed theirs, he acknowledged there was much to learn in other aspects.

Gradually, the directors from various departnts arrived, greeting Zhao Heng cordially without exception upon seeing him.
