Two days later.

Ten o’clock in the morning.

Deputy Director’s office of Neurosurgery.

Zhao Heng was resting, when suddenly Liu Ziang called him over, mysteriously not saying what it was about.

"Is it for a consultation? Where’s the patient?"

Entering Liu Ziang’s office, Zhao Heng asked with so confusion.

"There’s another good thing today."

Liu Ziang said mysteriously.

"Another good thing?"

Zhao Heng was still a bit puzzled.

"A paper, the one you wrote, have you forgotten it?"

Seeing that Zhao Heng was still looking confused, Liu Ziang couldn’t help but say.

"Published?"

Zhao Heng asked, sowhat in disbelief.

It’s important to know that such papers aren’t published easily. Submitting to highly specialized journals involves a rigorous process, with step-by-step verification from submission to review and then publication.

In many cases, it can take several months; at the very least, it takes several weeks.

How did it get published in just a few days?

"I told you, leave it to . Your paper got published in both neurosurgery and anesthesiology journals, each with impact factors above 7.5."

Liu Ziang said with a smile to Zhao Heng.

The reason the paper could get published so quickly was partly due to its high quality and cutting-edge nature, and partly due to the significant effort Liu Ziang put in.

After all, he was a big na in the industry and had a wealth of connections to utilize.

This highlights the importance of networking. If Zhao Heng had handled it alone, the paper’s quality would ensure publication, but certainly not this quickly.

"7.5?"

Zhao Heng’s mouth was agape; he hadn’t expected such a high impact factor for his paper.

He initially thought that having an SCI impact factor around 5.0 would already be pretty great.

This way, when he applies to Professor Huang’s graduate program, he would already have both the project and the paper in place, which would save him a lot of effort.

As for attending classes, it was totally unnecessary. The instructors might not even be as skilled in anesthesiology as Zhao Heng.

It’s important to know that Zhao Heng’s anesthesia skills were directly gleaned and combined from a towering figure like Professor Huang!

"Yes, and both journals’ editors recomnded it for the main issue. Soon, you’ll make a na for yourself in the academic circle."

Liu Ziang said with another smile.

He had never been this attentive to anyone other than Zhao Heng.

The academic circle is an odd place. Getting in doesn’t necessarily an you’re that skilled, but career advancent and many intangible aspects rely heavily on one’s status in the academic circle.

"Senior, it all feels like a dream."

Zhao Heng murmured.

Being able to publish in the main issues of journals in two fields marks his entry into the mainstream academic world, which is a crucial step.

Many plans must be based on this step.

Of course, this can be considered a teoric rise.

There are many doctoral students who face delayed graduation repeatedly because they can’t publish in the main journals of their field.

Without recomndations from a publication powerhouse and academic giant like Liu Ziang, this wouldn’t have ended so perfectly.

"This is just the beginning. When you get papers published in journals like ’Cell’, ’Nature’, or ’Science’, that would truly be a dream co true."

Liu Ziang set a very high standard. ’Cell’, ’Nature’, and ’Science’ are the world’s top journals, and publishing in them is usually a sign of potential for a Nobel Prize.

"Those journals are too far away for ."

Zhao Heng waved it off.

Even with his skill-gleaning ability, Zhao Heng’s reach was limited. Though he could learn and combine skills from top-notch doctors and professors, saving himself years of work,

it also ant that the people he could access defined the heights he could reach.

If he wanted to surpass the best he could currently contact, Zhao Heng would either have to work hard later on or find another path.

Simply put, scientists capable of winning Nobel Prizes are indeed the top tier, but they aren’t the only ones. Many scientists possess that level of expertise but lack a bit of luck.

"Junior, you need to have dreams. Look, this is a great start."

Liu Ziang said with a joyful smile, seeming happier than he was when he himself published his first paper.

"Yeah."

Zhao Heng nodded.

"How about celebrating tonight?"

Liu Ziang asked again.

"Is a celebration necessary?"

Zhao Heng said.

A celebration seed a bit overly flamboyant.

At Eastern Hospital, Zhao Heng was already in the lilight.

"It’s not like we’re inviting the whole hospital, just a few of us for dinner."

Liu Ziang said with a laugh.

"Well, that’s fine."

Zhao Heng thought for a mont and said.

Inviting the entire hospital would be too extravagant and not sothing a sensible person would do.

Imagine Zhao Heng hosting a banquet in a five-star hotel, booking twenty tables, with a banner at the entrance, "Celebrating Zhao Heng’s Significant Publication!", and flower baskets on both sides, each with ssages of congratulations. That would be crazy!

As he left the neurosurgery departnt and returned to the anesthesiology departnt, Zhao Heng still felt a bit lightheaded. Just two months ago, he was just an uncertain, struggling instrunt assistant.

But now, he had published his paper in the main issues of important journals, marking his entry into the academic world.

This sense of leap forward is really hard to describe with words.

Upon entering the office, Xu Man Ni noticed Zhao Heng’s unusually happy deanor, quite different from his usual calm self, and asked, "What’s going on? Why are you so happy?"

Zhao Heng said nothing and pulled Xu Man Ni into the break room to share about the paper.

"Oh my God! You’re amazing!"

Upon hearing Zhao Heng’s account, Xu Man Ni was so thrilled that she almost jumped up and held Zhao Heng tightly.

She was genuinely happy for Zhao Heng.

After all the hardships Zhao Heng had endured, he was finally seeing the light.

Held tightly by Xu Man Ni, the warmth and softness in his arms, Zhao Heng couldn’t help but feel sothing. Coupled with his happiness, he wanted to "celebrate" a bit.

However, rembering that they were in the break room, Zhao Heng restrained himself.

Holding Zhao Heng, Xu Man Ni naturally sensed the change in him. She smiled sweetly, leaned to Zhao Heng’s ear, and whispered sothing softly.

Hearing it, Zhao Heng’s eyes lit up, and with a touch of excitent, he said, "Really?"

"Would I lie to you?"

Xu Man Ni said with a charming smile.

Even though Zhao Heng was her first, Xu Man Ni had learned a lot of theoretical knowledge. With just a small trick, she had Zhao Heng all excited.
