By the ti Jun Lii was fully satisfied, it was already two o’clock in the afternoon.
Yan Yueqing climbed out of bed in a daze, "I’m so hungry."
Jun Lii pulled her back down, "You sleep a bit more; I’ll go cook."
"Do you even know how to cook?"
"I don’t," Jun Lii admitted unabashedly. "But I can learn, shouldn’t be too difficult."
Yan Yueqing looked at his righteous appearance and smiled, "That’s exactly how I replied to Grandpa when I first learned to cook."
"And then?" Jun Lii gently caressed the corners of her lips.
"It’s ticklish." She shrank back a little and laughed, "Then, I blew up the kitchen."
"Literally?"
"Mhm, literally." Thinking about Grandpa’s expression at the ti, Yan Yueqing couldn’t help but laugh, "Grandpa asked why the lid was on the ceiling. Hahaha."
Watching her so happy, Jun Lii felt a warmth in his heart, "I probably won’t blow up the kitchen."
"That’s hard to say, a couple shares everything; it’s quite normal for you to be like ." Yan Yueqing propped herself up, "Let’s go cook together. I need to keep an eye on you—blowing up the kitchen is one thing, just don’t burn down the house."
At the ntion of "a couple shares everything," Jun Lii felt another surge of joy, "Okay, I’ll listen to you."
The two changed into a set of comfortable ho clothes and walked hand in hand to the kitchen.
The open kitchen had two or three pots, enough for the two of them to play around.
"You use those two pots," pointed Yan Yueqing, "I’ll make the hot and sour soup here!"
"Okay."
Jun Lii opened his phone, picked two dishes that Yan Yueqing usually loved, carefully noted the steps, and then began cooking.
Unlike Yan Yueqing’s single-threaded approach during her first ti cooking, his brain multi-tasked, quickly picking out ingredients, deciding what needed to be soaked and what chopped, doing everything orderly and smoothly.
Just by watching his movents, one might think he was so handso chef with years of experience!
Yan Yueqing followed the special soup recipe she had used during her pregnancy, and soon had her dish ready as well. The two of them made clanging and banging noises in the kitchen, busy at work.
Half an hour later, Jun Lii brought out the stead rice, a dish of stir-fried shrimp, a dish of stir-fried beef, and a bowl of seaweed and shrimp soup.
Yan Yueqing cheerfully scooped out her ticulously seasoned hot and sour soup.
"It slls wonderful—just like the flavor from back then." She brought it over to Jun Lii, "Here, give it a taste~~~"
Jun Lii looked at the colorful bowl of soup, unsure, "Are you certain it’s the sa flavor as before?"
"Yep~ it slls exactly the sa!"
Jun Lii picked up a spoon and bravely took a sip.
He paused, his expression frozen.
This sour, numbing, spicy sensation...
Yan Yueqing asked eagerly, "How is it?"
Keeping his composure, Jun Lii responded, "It’s very tasty."
"Really? Looks like my cooking skills haven’t changed at all~~~"
Jun Lii served her a shrimp, "Try the one I made."
While Yan Yueqing bent down to taste his cooking, he quickly took a gulp of water.
"Wow, my husband is so talented at cooking~ it tastes almost like the dishes I have at restaurants~~" she said with a beaming smile, "If you ever stop doing business, being a chef could be an option too~~"
Jun Lii took two bites of beef, barely suppressing the bizarre taste of the hot and sour soup.
His ears turned red from the spice, but his tone was casual, "Yeah, I’ll listen to you."
Yan Yueqing added, "Do you like my hot and sour soup?"
"Yes."
"Then I’ll make it for you every day~~"
Well, that’s not necessary...
Unconvinced, Jun Lii asked, "Try it again, is it really the taste you used to like?"
"Sure." Yan Yueqing took a sip, eyes narrowing in contentnt, "Mmm~~ that’s the taste, I really like it~"
At last, Jun Lii’s heart sank...
Alright then, it wasn’t a mistake in the recipe.
