A night passed, and Zihu didn’t show up for several consecutive days.
The ti dragged on so much that Jun Lii even began to wonder—had he dissipated?
But not long after, while Jun Lii was being pushed by Ah Xing in the garden to soak up the sun, Zihu’s voice rang out again.
"I might have to leave."
Upon hearing this, Jun Lii didn’t know whether he should be happy or silent.
Zihu calmly stated, "Lately, I’ve been pondering the sa question over and over."
Jun Lii knew what he was thinking, taking up his words, "Are you really ? And am I really you?"
"Yes," Zihu said wistfully with a smile, "During my travels through ti, I encountered many situations more troubleso than this. I originally thought that as long as I saw her, everything would be worth it. Now I realize... perhaps the Heavenly Dao played a big joke on ..."
"A joke?"
"It said, the most painful thing may not necessarily be parting. What I seek might change as ti goes by. At first, I couldn’t understand its aning; I always felt it was urging to turn back. Now... I vaguely understand a bit more in my heart."
Zihu seed to ask Jun Lii, but it was also as if he was questioning himself, "What do you think, are we really the sa person? And who is it that she likes now?"
Jun Lii was posed the question...
Clearly, this dilemma wasn’t only troubling Zihu.
He shook his head, "If it really bothers you that much... why not just ask Ah Xing directly?"
Jun Lii handed the initiative back to Zihu.
He needed an answer, but did he himself also want to know this answer?
Zihu took a deep breath and slowly said, "Ah Xing..."
"Zihu, I just exchanged so new fruit with the uncle next door, and he even praised the wine I made~"
Ah Xing’s voice, no matter when, was always so chirpy.
Like the sun, it shone warmly into one’s chest, bringing the most comfortable warmth.
Zihu suddenly found that he couldn’t ask...
"What did you want to ask ?"
"I..."
The girl quietly approached and pecked on his cheek, "Actually, I could guess even if you didn’t ask ."
"Guess... what?"
Zihu and Jun Lii both felt guilty at once.
"Zihu, you haven’t been around for days," Ah Xing pouted, sounding sowhat displeased, "Lately, it’s another you who has been with , right? I wanted to ask him... where did you go? But I was afraid it would upset him..."
Zihu: !!!
Jun Lii: !!!
Ah Xing pursed her lips, "You two are so awkward. You’re obviously the sa person, so why always make differentiate and decide which one I like? Both are you~"
Both n fell silent.
Ah Xing looked at the man with bandages over his eyes, wrapped her arms around him in a sowhat coquettish tone.
"You two are like two moods, two personalities of one person. One gentle and courteous, the other childish and tantrum-prone. No matter which, it’s the most genuine you! Do you think I’d like you only when you’re happy and hate you when you’re angry? Such a silly question, don’t ask it again."
Zihu wrapped his arms around her waist opportunely.
A gentle grip, frail enough to be heartbreaking.
"Ah Xing’s analogy is quite apt, we’ve thought too much," he continued in her vein, "Just two personalities..."
Aren’t they all just ?
Jun Lii still felt sowhat miffed, but Zihu had already accepted it.
"I love all of you, your past, present, and future..." Ah Xing said, pressing her cheek against his, each word touching beyond asure, "Unless you two will separate one day, otherwise, I won’t choose! I want both of you!"
"You...," Zihu said, smiling as he caressed her long hair, his voice full of indulgence.
Ah Xing was right; they were indeed the sa person.
One in the present, and one in the future.
She loved his entire being, and he loved all of her, too. Unless they were no longer in the sa body, such worries were aningless.
Zihu had co to terms with it, but Jun Lii was still caught up in overthinking.
They were one person, but what if one day Zihu separated from his body and beca a complete individual, how would Ah Xing choose then?
He ca from the future...
The things he told himself about... were situations that were distant yet familiar.
So, did he fall in love with Ah Xing because he liked her, or was it because Zihu’s influence made him like Ah Xing?
Just like the chicken-and-egg question, Jun Lii successfully tangled himself up in a paradox.
He was afraid that his feelings for Ah Xing were because of Zihu’s affection for her, and even more afraid that Ah Xing liked him just because she liked Zihu, out of a transferred affection.
In business, where Jun Lii was accustod to being in command, he felt like he was the mistress in this relationship, unworthy to see the light of day...
However, soon his struggle and pain were diluted by a trendous surprise.
Ah Xing, bringing over the supplies to change his dressing: "I think your eyes have gotten a lot better. After we take off the bandages, try to see if you can sense light?"
As the tight bandages were unwound, a rush of blinding whiteness invaded his eyes, and even without opening them, the brightness was almost unbearable.
His instinctive move to shield his eyes made Ah Xing quickly pull the curtains closed a bit.
"It seems you’ll need to recover slowly; don’t rush it. I’ll change your dicine again," she said.
As she opened the dicine, the pungent sll hit her, causing her to suddenly cover her mouth and retch violently.
"Ah Xing, what’s wrong?" Jun Lii stretched out his hand anxiously toward her direction, almost tumbling off the stool.
"Don’t move!" Ah Xing stopped him, "Stay seated, and don’t you dare open your eyes."
Jun Lii imdiately ceased all motions, his heart filled with anxiety.
After so ti, Ah Xing ca over, her voice slightly embarrassed: "Don’t worry, it’s good news."
"You’re so distressed you’re about to throw up, how can that be good news?" Jun Lii was anxious, "Did I not cook the rice properly today?"
"Silly!" She sweetly cradled his face and pressed a kiss on his lips, "I’m... pregnant."
Jun Lii was first stunned!
Then, a wave of imnse joy engulfed him completely.
"Pregnant?" He laughed so hard the ceiling could’ve cracked, "Good, good, good! That’s great! We’re having a baby?!"
Zihu calmly said, "Seems like it’s Xiao Wang and Xiao Yan."
Jun Lii, all dopey: "Don’t worry, I’ll heal my eyes quickly, and then I’ll take care of you and the two little ones."
"We’ve just conceived, how do you know it’s two already!" Ah Xing tapped his head, laughing uncontrollably.
In the following days, Jun Lii was no longer jealous nor petulant, spending all his ti obediently learning from Zihu how to care for a pregnant woman.
Their relationship beca inexplicably harmonious.
Unfortunately, this joyous ti lasted only for a little over a month.
Ah Xing ca back from the hospital, holding a report: "The doctor said it’s twins~ Don’t know if they are boys or girls? I need to seriously think about the girl’s nas, but if it’s a boy, how about calling him Xiao Yan?"
She kissed his face as she spoke: "You’re too amazing—when I just got pregnant, you said it would be twins, and now it really is twins!"
Jun Lii’s smile was very tender.
Everything Zihu said was true, it was twins, it was Su Wang and Jun Yan...
Gradually, he seed to be accepting this self that ca from the future.
He was here for Ah Xing, to change her fate predetermined by the Jiang Family to a tragic death... In so ways, the two of them were unintentionally aligned.
As long as Ah Xing was fine, what else mattered?
Zihu could do everything for Ah Xing, and so could he.
Jun Lii touched the bandages: "I’ve been less sensitive to light recently. At night, when I take off the bandages, it seems I can vaguely make out so surroundings."
"That ans you’re almost healed~" Ah Xing was very joyful.
"When my eyes are better, Ah Xing... would you like to go back to Hua Country with ?"
"Of course, I’d love to~" Ah Xing started to bound with joy, then hesitated, "But first, I need to go back to my mom! I’ve been gone for so long, she must be anxious, maybe even angry when I return."
Rembering Jiang Yu’s occasional sighs over her mischievous daughter, Jun Lii couldn’t help but smile: "Don’t worry, I’ll persuade your mother-in-law not to scold you."
Suddenly, the doorbell rang with a ’ding dong’.
