Daybreak.

Jun Yan woke up and saw his elderly father sitting by the window, lost in thought. He sprung energetically from the bed, "Dad!"

Jun Lii had sat desiccated throughout the night, his mind cluttered with entangled thoughts, leaving him in a state of disarray.

It was only upon hearing his son’s call that he seed to co back to his senses, replying indifferently, "What is it?"

Jun Yan was still thinking about the previous night’s events, "Dad, Grandpa Mu said you went to see my godmother last night! What did you go for?"

Jun Lii truly had no mory of going to see Yan Yueqing and didn’t have the heart to shatter his son’s hopes, "Does Xiao Yan want to stay here?"

"Wherever my godmother is, that’s where I’ll be." Jun Yan, having just got out of bed, spoke earnestly with his tousled black hair adding an extra touch of cute naivety to his appearance.

In the past, Jun Lii would certainly have rebuffed him.

Yet, he fell silent now...

Whether for rational or emotional reasons, he felt as if he had no grounds to oppose.

After a while, he spoke with a deep voice, "If your mother agrees, you can stay."

Jun Yan: !!!

Why is Dad being so nice today?!

A smile quickly spread across his icy little face, "That’s great, I’m going to find my godmother right now!"

Jun Lii grabbed the back of his collar, frowning unconsciously, "Going out without washing up first?"

It seed only then that Jun Yan realized it, blinking before belatedly uttering an "Oh."

Jun Lii sighed and began washing the boy.

After they were ready, Steward Yan specifically ca to invite them to have breakfast in the dining room.

Old Master Yan sat in the primary seat, looking at the simple millet porridge, "Yueqing, is it really impossible to have at?"

Yan Yueqing, who was ladling porridge for Yan Wang, chuckled upon hearing this, "Grandfather, who eats at early in the morning?"

Old Master Yan looked visibly aggrieved, "But there’s ham on the table..."

"Your stomach isn’t good, Grandpa. Drinking millet porridge is the most nourishing," Yan Yueqing pointed out while indicating the milk, bread, sandwiches, and ham, "These are prepared for Mr. Jun. Steward Yan has asked about it; their family has always been accustod to Western-style dining."

"Western-style? That’s so unpalatable." Old Master Yan grumbled with a shake of his head, "When I was young, I’ve also traveled abroad, but when it cos to food, Dahua Country is the best! You wouldn’t know, but I once encountered a dish called ’Stargazing.’ I was so eager to try it when I heard the na! But when it was served... I couldn’t eat anything for two whole days."

Tang Tang furrowed her brows, seemingly recalling an unpleasant mory, "Yes, it’s very unpalatable."

Yan Wang turned his head, "Sister, have you tried it?"

Tang Tang didn’t dare to revisit the mory, hastily gesturing with her hands, "Brother Wangwang, let tell you, in our country, the nicer the na of the dish, the more expensive it is; but elsewhere... never try anything with a romantic na, it’s too scary!"

Seeing her animated refusal, Yan Wang found his sister even more adorable and nodded in agreent, "Alright."

As soon as he finished speaking, Jun Yan ca running excitedly from the doorway, "Godmother, I’m here, I’m here!"

His thrilled tone made Jun Lii, who was following behind, a bit somber.

Upon seeing Yan Wang turn around, Jun Yan strove to maintain his cool persona!

But as soon as he saw Yan Yueqing smiling and reaching out to him, Jun Yan chuckled and dove without hesitation into his godmother’s embrace.

Ah~

So warm~

He was delighted to death.

Yan Wang: Can’t watch this...

Yan Yueqing couldn’t help being tender towards Jun Yan, "What would Yan Bao like to eat? Your godmother asked Grandma Sun to prepare a whole table of delicious food for you."

Tang Tang greeted him cheerfully, "Brother Yan, this black rice porridge is really delicious~"

Jun Yan had no interest in the dishes on the table right now, his eyes were all for Aunt Liu, his smile almost stretching from the corner of his mouth to his ears, "Aunt Liu, my dad said he’s about to return to the capital soon. The family business is busy, and he’s thinking of leaving here for Aunt Liu to take care of for a while."

Just as Jun Lii took his seat, a frown instantly ford on his brow.

This kid, he sure knows how to find excuses for himself!

Jun Yan looked at Yan Yueqing eagerly, his expression like that of a little dog about to be abandoned, "Does Aunt Liu want to take in? If Dad doesn’t want , and if Aunt Liu doesn’t either... then I’ll have to roam the streets."

Jun Lii: Hey, hey, hey! I’m still here, you know! Can you not spread rumors right in front of !

Yan Wang’s deep gaze glanced at Jun Yan, then paused on Jun Lii, the corners of his mouth lifting into a faintly cold smile.

As if mocking...

Yan Yueqing didn’t believe for a second that Jun Lii would abandon Jun Yan. Just the fact that he had left the complicated affairs of the Jun Residence to travel thousands of miles to see his son showed how much Yan Bao weighed on his mind.

With that thought, her annoyance with Jun Lii lessened a bit... After all, he does love his child.

Yan Yueqing lifted her lashes, eting Jun Lii’s gaze.

Their eye contact no longer carried the fireworks of yesterday, but instead, there was an indescribable bond.

"If Mr. Jun is willing to leave Yan Bao at the Yan Family, I will naturally take good care of the little guy."

You’re his biological mother; of course, you’ll take good care of him...

Jun Lii didn’t say much, lowering his eyes and responding lightly, "I appreciate it, once the affairs of the Jun Residence are settled, I’ll co to pick him up."

Housekeeper Mu took the opportunity to join the conversation, "Miss Yan, would it be convenient for to stay and take care of Young Master Yan?"

The head of the house has already learned the truth, and there’s nothing much to do upon returning to the Jun Residence. It’s Young Master Yan, however... who knows how much stir there will be the day he learns of his identity? It’s better to stay here!

Yan Yueqing looked up and exchanged a glance with Housekeeper Mu, instantly understanding his concern, "Convenient, convenient!"

Jun Lii went silent...

He’s about to leave, and she had no reaction; Housekeeper Mu is staying, and she even sounded sowhat eager?!

A sense of inexplicable sourness filled his chest...

But Yan Yueqing didn’t notice at all and chatted with Housekeeper Mu in high spirits.

Eventually, it was Old Master Yan who spoke to keep up appearances, "Mr. Jun, when will you be returning?"

Jun Lii finally found a sense of presence, "Tomorrow morning."

Old Master Yan nodded, "Just in ti, Mr. Jun is new to City C, and as the host, I should show so hospitality." He then looked at his granddaughter, "Yueqing, tonight your Uncle Kang’s auction house is holding an auction. The invitation ca early, but unfortunately, I cannot travel far... Perfect, you take Mr. Jun and a few of the kids to have a look, and buy whatever you like!"

Auction?!

Yan Yueqing’s spirits lifted at the na alone!

Isn’t this another chance to spend money on the kids?!

Dear grandpa!

Jun Lii subconsciously wanted to refuse, as he had not prepared any upscale gifts for the old master, and it didn’t seem right to accept a gift from the Yan Family.

But seeing Yan Yueqing’s excited face, he found himself unable to say a word...

Forget it, let’s go to the auction and have a look, and if there’s anything good, I’ll buy it all for her.

Aunt Liu sat beside Tang Tang, looking back and forth between Miss Yan and Mr. Jun, sighing deeply in her heart...

Ah, Miss Yan has so many suitors, our Mr. seems to stand no chance at all.

If Director Tang knew that Aunt Liu had requested to stay at the Yan Family to take care of Tang Tang with the intention of playing matchmaker, he would definitely not agree to it!

Wow!

How could you dare to do that?!

That’s my boss!!!
