It was just two words, but their impact made my whole body tremble.

Now, what does he want? The question, along with other negative thoughts, started to cloud my mind. For once, I thought of not going down, but the next second, another ssage chid in.

Dave.

If you don’t co in the next five minutes. I will co up.

Hell No!

I abruptly stood from my place, almost crashing on the floor. Caroline moved but did not wake up, fortunately.

I tiptoed towards the exit before wrapping a scarf around , as I did not have the ti to get caged in my brassiere again.

Slowly walking down the stairs, several thoughts ca into my mind. Why? What? How?

The mont I stepped out of the apartnt, my gaze t his. I stopped. The whole world stopped.

He stood there in the sa clothes he had worn all morning. He stood against the bonnet of his car. Both hands in his pockets.

Before he felt my presence, his gaze was fixated on one point as if he were lost in deep thought.

I took in a deep breath as goosebumps covered my body. Clenching my scarf, I tried to calm myself. He stood straight as he noticed .

For a mont, a light sparkled in his eyes. In the sa manner, when one is happy to see that special person.

I internally shook my head, not wanting to create fake scenarios in my mind.

I think I am on the next level of being delusional. Tucking my hair behind my ear, I walked to him, composing my facial expression. I folded my hands as I waited for him to say.

He ca closer, almost catching my breath, but I did not let it show on my face. He leaned in, his gaze eting mine.

My heart started to do sorsaults as he kept looking at . As if he were trying to search for sothing.

I could feel my face getting heated up when I pushed him back, "Get away from ." Putting my most strength, I could only push him by only two steps.

A frown crept across his face, clearly unimpressed with what I’d done, but he did not express it in words.

Instead, he straightened his posture. The sa cold expression masked his face, making feel slightly irritated with his uncertain actions. "What do you want?" I asked, keeping my tone firm and assertive.

I’d put up with enough unexpected appearances that now he appeared again to ruin my night, too. Narrowing my gaze, I schooled my facial expression, not letting him read like a book, which he did every ti.

I glanced at my screen as I started to tap my feet on the ground, trying to make myself more agitated so that he could just put out his words.

He stood there, still. Watching with hawk-like eyes expected to crawl up.

Sad, tonight he would not be able to see the sa reaction. Every second felt like an eternity. My patience reached the verge of slipping. A few seconds passed, but still nothing ca from him.

So, I turned my heel around, started to walk back to my apartnt, when he finally spoke, "You were right about being delusional."

His statent stopped in the middle. Recalling our morning conversation. I did not turn but stood there waiting for an explanation. I felt him walking behind until he reached just behind .

My whole body felt frozen from the proximity. His heated breath fanning my neck almost made my legs go jelly. I manifested such a novel-like scene to happen, but definitely not in such circumstances.

Clenching my jaw, I restrained myself from making any sound. His face ca near my face.

I could feel the gentle brush of his stubble against my skin, a reminder of his presence that was both intimate and comforting.. And OH MY FRIKKING GOD!

I was just a mini second away from screaming in excitent.

"Sorry for my mistake, wifey." His low voice burst several kinds of emotions inside . And Lust and Shock were on top of that list.

And this confusion and proximity beca the reason to make turn to him.

Our lips almost touched. Almost.

I looked up at him. My mask cracked for a mont from the helplessness. I opened my mouth as the question ca out like a re stutter, "What..Do you an?"

My mouth went dry as I licked my lips, which his eyes did not miss. In that mont, a flicker of sothing flashed through his eyes.

His eyes moved between my eyes and lips as his orbs started to darken a shade darker.

Could not rember the last ti I saw him from this close. Probably never.

His eyes always seed an ocean of dark chocolate, and now it almost turned a shade darker. The bitter yet silk-like chocolate eyes almost drowned in them when he replied, "I rember."

My brows knitted together, not having a single clue about what he was talking about, and he seed to notice it too as he explained further, "I rember that we are already married. That.."

He stopped as I kept looking with eyes that almost asured up to a saucer. "That..." I pushed as I felt him retreat from his words.

For once, I did not want him to turn down. I looked at him, pouring every emotion I felt in that mont.

His expressions also changed, noticing the increasing tension in the air. He licked his lips, which sent a shiver down my spine, spreading into my whole body.

He gulped down as his Adam’s apple did the up-down movent, tempting to kiss it. I did not know it was my imagination, or if he was really bending towards .

Our fastened breaths crashing with each other and becoming one ignited the fire, once extinguished by his cold behaviour.

My eyes took in every inch of his face, as this chance may never co again.

His hand lifted, hesitating in the air before brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. A touch so gentle yet so burning that it seeped through my soul.

I didn’t move. Couldn’t.

Not when his eyes, stormy and unsure, searched mine, which I could not decipher when, finally, he completed his sentence, "That you are...my wife."
