Chapter 98 Lu Xiyao’s Mom Is Here! Father and Daughter Are So Popular?
At Starlight Kindergarten, Cars pulled up one by one in front of the kindergarten as parents arrived with their children for the parent-child activity. Smiles of happiness lit up everyone’s faces.
“Oh! Haohao’s dad, Haohao’s mom, where did you get those matching white and green striped outfits? They look great!”
“Look at that! Yuan Haojie’s family is dressed as three little tigers. How adorable!”
“Zhong Shuyi! Why is your outfit different from ours?”
“This is a traditional Chinese design. I had my mom custom-make it a while ago. See, it even has embroidered red-crowned cranes, my favorite!”
“Wow! That’s amazing!”
“I’m so envious, Zhong Shuyi! Your family’s outfits are so special!”
A group of children circled Zhong Shuyi, their eyes filled with admiration.
Zhong Shuyi’s family was wearing light green, traditional Chinese-style outfits. The mother and daughter looked elegant and ethereal in the flowing design.
However, when it ca to Zhong Shuyi’s dad, the look was less flattering. With his bulky figure, square face, and prominent belly, he embodied the stereotypical image of a potbellied businessman.
Zhong Shuyi’s dad muttered with frustration, “If I’d known I’d have to dress like this for the kindergarten event, I wouldn’t have co.”
“It looks fine,” Zhong Shuyi’s mom said, though not very convincingly.
“As long as I and our daughter look good, you’re just the backdrop,” she added.
Zhong Shuyi chid in innocently, “Mom, isn’t this backdrop a little too round?”
“…”
Just then, a shiny new carmine-red Porsche Macan pulled up at the kindergarten entrance. The children, enchanted by the gleaming red car, burst into exclamations.
“Wow! Mommy, look! That car is so pretty!”
“That’s the new Porsche model this year. It’s stunning!”
“Whose family is this? I’ve never seen this car before!”
Regular parents, familiar with everyone’s routines—what cars they drove, who biked, and who had bought hos in the nearby school zone—were taken aback. The car wasn’t one they’d seen before.
The Porsche zipped through the street and ca to a neat stop in front of the kindergarten.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, the car door opened. From the driver’s seat, Shen Muyan stepped out.
Wearing an off-white T-shirt and yellow shorts, her long, snow-white, shapely legs erged first. The visual impact was electrifying, causing the nearby n to instinctively gulp as their hearts raced.
The won, srized too, quickly snapped out of it when they noticed their husbands gawking. Ears were promptly yanked. The outfit itself—casual and hoy—might not have stood out on its own. But Shen Muyan’s stunning beauty and cool, regal deanor drew every eye.
“Wow! She’s gorgeous! Is she even a parent?”
“She’s so cold and elegant, like a goddess! Even prettier than celebrities!”
“Who is she? Soone’s sister or aunt? Today’s parent-child activity just got a lot more interesting!”
From the backseat, Lu Xiyao hopped down, wearing a matching outfit. Shen Muyan walked over, took her hand, and the mother-daughter duo instantly exuded an aura of elegance straight out of a high-end fashion ad. Finally, Lu Qin got out of the car.
Clean-cut and sunny, he looked striking in the sa outfit, completing the family picture.
“Lu Xiyao!”
“Boss Lu!”
“Yaoyao’s dad!”
The crowd froze in shock before collectively gasping.
The family of three stood together, their matching bear-thed outfits emphasizing their sky-high attractiveness. They were so stunning that even passersby stopped to look, thinking they might be models shooting a parent-child outfit ad.
The n murmured, “So, that’s Yaoyao’s mom? No wonder her dad never brings her here. Who’d want to show off such a beautiful wife? Better to keep her at ho!”
Children and parents sward over. Poor Zhong Shuyi, who had been proudly showing off her Chinese-style outfit monts earlier, found her audience vanishing. Even her dad, captivated, stared openly in the new direction.
“Where are your eyes wandering?” Zhong Shuyi’s mom snapped, seething.
“Appreciating beauty is human nature,” he replied cheekily. “It’s not just —look at all the other dads!”
“Wait till we get ho!” She hissed, though he seed unfazed.
anwhile, Zhong Shuyi tugged at her dad’s sleeve, asking, “Dad, isn’t Yaoyao my good friend? Have you ever t her mom before?”
“Nope,” she replied honestly, before running off to join the crowd around Yaoyao.
Her dad, attempting to follow, was promptly grabbed by the collar by his wife.
“Yaoyao, is that your mom?”
“Wow, Yaoyao! Your mom is so pretty!”
“Why didn’t your mom ever co to previous events?”
Hand in hand with her daughter, Shen Muyan remained composed, her frosty deanor intact, though her mind raced—Is my daughter always this popular at school?
She turned to Lu Qin.
To her surprise, he was surrounded by a group of moms, all chatting animatedly.
Shen Muyan was speechless.
Looks like my daughter isn’t the only popular one.
“That’s my mom!” Yaoyao replied cheerfully. “My mom manages lots of big hotels, so she’s really busy and didn’t have ti to co to the kindergarten before!”
“Alright, everyone! Parents and kids, let’s head inside! You’re blocking the road,” Teacher Li called out, clapping to grab attention.
Before Lu Qin’s family arrived, the entrance had been orderly. Now it was chaotic. Inside, disposable slippers awaited parents while children wore their usual ones.
The first activity was family cooking, aid at letting kids experience the joys of preparing food with their parents—a rare opportunity in today’s fast-paced lives.
Families ford teams, assigned to various tasks like baking cakes, making cookies, or frying rice.
“Mommy, I want roast duck!”
“There’s no duck here. We’ve got flour, rice, pork, and carrots. How about I make you a duck-shaped bun and bake it?”
“…”
