As Aurora joined them, Lucas moved closer, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead.

Alpha Grey’s calm deanor made her frown in confusion.

She leaned toward Lucas, whispering, "What’s going on?"

Lucas chuckled lightly, his confidence unshaken. "I told you, we’d figure it out. Alpha Grey and I had an amicable chat."

Aurora crossed her arms, unconvinced. "My father doesn’t do ’amicable.’ He doesn’t talk to anyone he dislikes without—well, without leaving a mark. Chaos is more his style."

"True," Lucas admitted with a wry smile. "But I spoke to him like a son would. Showed him so love."

Aurora raised an eyebrow, skeptical of his smooth explanation. That look made Lucas sigh. "Fine. We had a bit of a... disagreent. A proper wolf fight. Claws, teeth, you na it. Even Victoria and Elizabeth couldn’t step in. But I managed to get through to him."

Her eyes widened. "And how exactly did you ’get through to him’?"

Lucas glanced away before answering, "I may have offered him a sizable piece of land from the Rossi pack."

Aurora gasped. "You what?"

"Relax, it worked." Lucas grinned, glancing over at Alpha Grey, who was now contently focusing on his golf ga. "And now he’s happy to move forward with the pre-delivery rituals."

Aurora sighed, relieved yet concerned. "Are you sure this won’t co back to hurt you?"

"Maybe a little," Lucas shrugged. "But nothing I can’t handle."

Aurora studied him for a mont before exhaling. "Fine. If we’re doing the ritual, let’s do it now."

Lucas smiled, taking her hand. "Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready."

--- Several Weeks Later ---

Aurora gripped the hospital bed sheets, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Sweat beaded her forehead as the nurse beside her encouraged her to push.

"Co on, Aurora, you’re doing great. Just a little more. Push!" the nurse urged, her voice steady, but Aurora was struggling.

"I can’t," Aurora panted, her face pale. "I need Lucas. Call him, please."

The nurse nodded quickly, pulling out her phone. "I’ll call him right now."

Aurora closed her eyes, trying to steady her breath as another contraction gripped her.

The nurse dialed Lucas’s number, but after a few monts, her expression faltered.

The phone rang and rang with no answer.

Aurora opened her eyes, her voice trembling. "Did you get him?"

The nurse hesitated, signaling quietly to the other nurse in the room.

Aurora’s eyes darted between them. "What’s happening? Isn’t he answering?"

The second nurse stepped forward, her smile kind but clearly forced. "He’ll co, Aurora. Don’t worry. But right now, we need you to focus on delivering these babies."

Aurora’s frustration spiked. "That bastard," she muttered under her breath, about to launch into a tirade when another contraction hit her hard.

She groaned, bearing down with all her strength.

"Push, Aurora, push!" the first nurse encouraged.

Aurora let out a loud cry, her body trembling as she gave one last effort.

Monts later, the first baby arrived with a sharp wail.

"It’s a boy!" the nurse exclaid, holding up the newborn before wrapping him in a soft blanket.

The baby’s cries filled the room, and despite the pain, Aurora’s eyes brimd with tears as she watched her son. But the labor wasn’t over yet.

"One more, Aurora. You’re almost there," the nurse said, preparing her for the second push.

Aurora nodded, gathering the last of her strength. With another deep breath, she pushed again, harder this ti. A few monts later, the second baby arrived, letting out a softer but distinct cry.

"A girl!" the nurse smiled, wrapping the tiny baby in another blanket.

Aurora felt a surge of relief as she lay back against the pillows, utterly exhausted but filled with joy. The sound of her babies’ cries was the sweetest thing she’d ever heard.

"They’re beautiful," Aurora whispered, her chest rising and falling as she tried to catch her breath.

The nurses quickly began the newborn examinations, cooing over the little ones. "They’re perfect, healthy babies," one of the nurses said, smiling down at Aurora.

Aurora’s eyes fluttered shut, her exhaustion overwhelming her. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

The last thing she heard before she drifted off was the soft cries of her newborns, their tiny voices filling the room as she succumbed to a much-needed rest.

anwhile, in the backseat of a luxurious car, Lucas sat anxiously, glancing out the window before turning to Amos. "Amos, can’t you drive any faster? I need to be there with Aurora."

Amos pressed on the gas, speeding up slightly but not too much. "I’m going as fast as I can, sir. The roads are a bit tricky tonight."

Lucas let out a frustrated breath, tapping his fingers on his leg. "I was supposed to be there already. That eting with Alpha Grey—he insisted it was mandatory." He shook his head. "Aurora must be worried sick."

Reaching into his pocket out of habit, Lucas suddenly froze. "My phone!" he exclaid. "I left it back at the eting."

Amos glanced at him through the rearview mirror. "Do you want to turn back and get it?"

"No," Lucas replied quickly. "We don’t have ti. Keep going."

Just as he was about to say sothing else, Lucas glanced up and his eyes went wide.

A truck was barreling straight toward them.

"Amos, watch out!" Lucas shouted, panic in his voice.

Amos reacted instantly, yanking the steering wheel to the side.

The car swerved sharply, but it was too late.

The vehicle skidded off the road, tipping and tumbling before crashing onto its side, the world spinning around them.

The car ca to a halt, lying overturned, while the truck rolled to a stop nearby.

The truck driver climbed out, his boots crunching against the gravel as he made his way toward the wrecked car.

His smirk deepened as he saw the vehicle leaking fuel onto the ground.

Peering through the shattered window, the driver bent down, placing a hand over Lucas’s nose.

After a few seconds, he pulled back, satisfied. "Not breathing," he muttered to himself, grinning in triumph.

Taking out his phone, the man dialed a number. The call connected quickly.

"Alpha Grey," the truck driver said, his voice low, "the Rossi is dead, just like you wanted."

On the other end, Alpha Grey’s lips curled into a cold smile. "Good."

Without another word, he ended the call and took a slow sip of his wine, the glass gleaming in the dim light.
