C24 – An Eye for An Eye

Erging from the cultivation room with his thoughts in disarray, Lu Lixing was set on leaving school and heading ho for a much-needed day of rest. The matter of his leave would be effortlessly managed by Wen Shi. Right now, what Lu Lixing needed was to deeply contemplate his future.

As he weaved through the bustling crowd, head bowed, the surrounding clamor abruptly ceased. Sensing sothing amiss, he glanced up to find the towering figure of Yuwen Ba blocking his path, his face twisted in a grotesque snarl, as if he were ready to devour Lu Lixing whole.

“I’ve been searching for you all this ti!”

Yuwen Ba’s animosity towards Lu Lixing was palpable. Since being discharged from the hospital, Yuwen Ba had scoured everywhere for him, burning with the desire for retribution. A week had passed without a glimpse of Lu Lixing, but today, upon receiving a tip-off, Yuwen Ba had swiftly gathered his n and cornered Lu Lixing just in ti.

He was determined to give Lu Lixing an unforgettable lesson today!

Confronted by the nacing Yuwen Ba, Lu Lixing inquired, “If I were a scion of a prominent family, would you still dare to treat

this way?”

Yuwen Ba’s reaction to Lu Lixing’s question was to burst into derisive laughter, as if it were the funniest joke he’d ever heard. He slapped Lu Lixing’s cheek mockingly and sneered, “Take a good look at yourself. What makes you think you could ever be a scion of a great family? You’re living in a dream!”

Yuwen Ba’s cronies joined in the laughter, their eyes filled with scorn as they gazed at Lu Lixing. To them, he was nothing but trash from the slums, entertaining the ludicrous notion of becoming a noble’s descendant.

Yet, amidst the blatant ridicule, Lu Lixing remained eerily composed. He knew all too well that his words fell on deaf ears; to Yuwen Ba, he was just a commoner, forever barred from the ranks of the elite.

“Step aside, all of you. I’m not in the mood for a fight today.”

Lu Lixing’s interest in further dialogue had evaporated. All he yearned for now was to hasten back to the solace of his ho, to lie in bed and embrace the peace of a deep slumber.

“Let

take you to the hospital to be with your friend!”

Yuwen Ba let out a cold snort. He had finally cornered Lu Lixing today and there was no way he was going to let him walk away so easily!

When Lu Lixing heard Yuwen Ba bring up Sha Zhenghao, his eyes sharpened, and he demanded in a stern voice, “What have you done to Sha Zhenghao?”

“Mr. Yuwen intended to break both his legs, of course!” One of Yuwen Ba’s henchn sneered maliciously and reached out to shove Lu Lixing. But Lu Lixing was quick to react, seizing the man’s wrist.

“You should never have laid a finger on Sha Zhenghao.”

With an icy glare, Lu Lixing tightened his grip and, with a crisp snap, broke the henchman’s wrist! The man scread in agony.

Yuwen Ba, startled by the turn of events, erupted in anger and commanded, “Beat him to death!”

At Yuwen Ba’s command, the group lunged at Lu Lixing with savage looks in their eyes. But they were no match for Lu Lixing. He struck first, his feet moving like lightning, delivering precise kicks to their knees, brutally breaking their legs one by one.

The air was filled with their agonized cries. In just monts, all six of Yuwen Ba’s lackeys were sprawled on the ground, faces ashen with pain.

Yuwen Ba’s eyes bulged with terror at the sight. He had thought he was prepared for Lu Lixing, but he hadn’t anticipated just how formidable Lu Lixing was. In a flash, Lu Lixing had taken down all his n!

As Lu Lixing advanced towards him, Yuwen Ba swallowed hard, fearfully, and bellowed, “Lu Lixing, what do you think you’re doing? This is a school!”

Lu Lixing’s sneer was his only reply. “Now you rember we’re at a school?”

Without another word, Lu Lixing closed the distance and landed a punishing blow to Yuwen Ba’s abdon. Yuwen Ba doubled over, clutching his belly as he knelt on the ground, retching.

The students surrounding the scene were utterly stunned. No one had anticipated that Yuwen Ba would once again fall to Lu Lixing, and this defeat was even more resounding than before!

Sha Xiufen, having hurried over upon hearing the news, stood amidst the crowd, her eyes wide with shock as she gazed at Lu Lixing. She seed unable to believe what she was witnessing; Lu Lixing appeared so alien and cold at that mont.

“I was wrong!”

Yuwen Ba knelt on the ground, his gaze fixed on Lu Lixing’s feet. Gone was his earlier arrogance, now replaced by sheer terror. Had he known the extent of Lu Lixing’s prowess, he never would have sought to provoke him.

“Why target

for trouble? But more importantly, why attack Sha Zhenghao? Simply because he’s a commoner without a powerful family to back him up?”

Lu Lixing’s disdain for Yuwen Ba, who tornted the common folk, had reached its peak after hearing Wen Shi’s words earlier that day. To him, Yuwen Ba was even lower than the Vicious Beasts of Cloud Dragon Mountain, who at least showed no favoritism in their aggression.

“You broke Sha Zhenghao’s legs, so I’ll break yours. That will settle the score.”

With an indifferent look, Lu Lixing sent Yuwen Ba tumbling to the ground with a fierce kick. As he was about to follow through on his threat, Sha Xiufen suddenly stepped in front of him, blocking his path.

“Lu Lixing, stop!” Sha Xiufen’s eyes were filled with urgency as she pleaded with him.

“Shut up!” Lu Lixing cut her off, his gaze icy as he stared down at the astonished Sha Xiufen. “If you try to stop , I’ll break your legs too!”

Sha Xiufen was a commoner just like everyone else. Why hadn’t she intervened when Yuwen Ba was breaking Sha Zhenghao’s legs?

“Lu Lixing, that’s enough.”

Out of nowhere, a tall figure erged from the crowd, his eyes calm as he addressed Lu Lixing with a asured tone, “Sha Xiufen is my girlfriend. Have you no regard for ?”
