Zach's eyes widened. That was not an answer he had expected, though he wasn't sure what answer he had been expecting.

"You made it?" He asked for clarification.

His fifth familiar nodded.

Zach's brow scrunched up.

As far as he knew, he was the one who made it by combining the indestructible but useless dallion he snagged from the Imperial Palace's treasury and the alloy disk he received from Ursula. But both those things were made by a long-dead and famous artisan craftswoman.

"Vidri?" He asked, confused and doubtful.

Vidri nodded.

"I am relieved you know of , Master, although I must admit I am surprised."

Zach tilted his head. Why would she be surprised he knew her? Unlike the other familiars, Vidri had a tangible past.

Zach decided to just ask her.

"Why shouldn't I know who you are? You are famous, aren't you? I'm pretty sure that happened before you…died."

"I wasn't that famous, Master. My na didn't ring through the universe. The odds of soone summoning as a familiar who also happens to know my na…That situation is so unlikely it's incalculable. It's different when you have that, though," Vidri said, pointing at Zach's necklace.

Zach grabbed and held up the necklace.

Vidir continued before he could ask about it.

"Where did you even get it, Master? It's sothing I made in the early days of my life. It's so long ago that I barely rember making it." As Vidir pieced together the situation, it made less and less sense.

How had Zach acquired one of her earlier creations? And how did he know who she was? Was that why he had summoned her? Because he knew about her and possessed one of her creations?

It wasn't a bad reason. Creations and knowledge were great materials for spinning the thread of fate.

But that made her curious about where she was.

"I got the dallion as a reward for taking down a bad guy, and I got the alloy as a reward for stopping a monster known as the Hydra from destroying the Empire and stopping a war. There's a little more to it than that, but that's about it. Both pieces were rewards from the Imperial Family," He explained with a shrug.

Vidri tilted her head.

She turned toward the door that had opened so ti after her summoning.

"Master, when you say the Empire and the Imperial Family…?"

"Yes?"

"Does it happen to be an Empire located on the Gjula continent?" She asked with a tension to her voice that Zach didn't quite understand.

"That's right."

"And this world that we're in, is it called Lambraz?" She asked again. She needed confirmation.

However, Zach's lips pulled to the side in an apologetic grimace.

"Sorry, Vidri, I've never heard what this world is called, so I can't say for certain. But I can probably ask soone."

Vidri stepped outside the summoning chamber and looked up, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.

"No need, Master. This is Lambraz. This is Gjula. I can feel it in my soul," She said, her mouth curving into a deep smile.

Zach's eyes widened slightly.

It probably wasn't common for familiars to return to their world after becoming familiars, but he didn't know enough about the life of familiars before becoming familiars and before being summoned.

Vidri took another deep breath.

"I looked for this place for centuries…! To think I could only return after dying…The painful irony," She mused out loud with words that would have sounded like complaints if not for the joy and relief in her voice.

Her words confused Zach. They also confused the others who were waiting outside the chamber.

"What do you an?" He asked, but before she could answer,

"It's starting to break!" Monolith shouted from the tunnel. His voice bood through the Underworld.

Zach caught up to Vidri and looked at her.

"You can fight, right?"

She nodded.

"Naturally. I have the ability to protect myself in excess. It is a necessity for a long life, Master."

"Good. You might need to put it to use soon," He said before turning away and running toward the tunnel. Vidri blinked with wide eyes as she looked at his back for a second. It seed she had been summoned to sothing exciting.

Her gaze beca more serious as she chased after Zach and the others, quickly catching up despite Zach not holding back. The only ones faster than him were Anerias and his familiars on the Darkwing.

Vidri ran with light steps that made it look like she was barely moving her legs. It was a little uncanny, but Zach didn't think much of it. His other familiars all ran or moved in their own special ways. When he looked at them again, he realized that he and Alzara were the only ones actually running.

Yanael was flying with her wings. Mandra was floating with magic. Soara was neither running nor flying. It looked like she was hovering over the ground, occasionally pushing off the ground to propel herself forward.

If Alzara hadn't been running beside him, he would have hopped onto a barrier and flown as well, even if he wasn't sure how quickly he could fly like that.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the ice wall.

Cracks ran across and through it like jagged spiderwebs. Anerias stood with his palm pressed against it as he looked at Violina's silhouette. The ice was lting and dripping down his arm onto the cold stone floor, where he touched the wall.

He wanted Violina out of there before the wall ca down completely.

"We can't see her familiars. Is that a problem, Yanael?" Zach asked.

"Not at all." Yanael unsheathed her sword. Nessa pulled back Anerias.

Yanael slashed four tis with her sword, creating a square in the ice wall. As soon as she was done, Zach put his hand on the ice. He was pretty sure this would work.

He used his second contract skill and focused on only the ice in the block Yanael had marked out.
