251 Realisation

Shen Yu grimaced when he heard Ning Xi's story and he knew she was just one of many who had suffered this fate. Cultivators were like God's, especially the higher realm and Mortals were just ants for them.

It was similar to how when two kids played around, they would often kill ants, insects and many inferior creatures. It was just the way the cultivation world worked. She Yu understood that but still didn't like it.

Sothing like that certainly couldn't be justified. After all, it was their greed that always led the deaths of innocent and they never cared about them.

Every day thousands would die just because two people didn't like each other's face. This was the cruel world they lived in. And Ning Xi was just one of the many victims.

Shen Yu sighed, thinking of sothing.

'And this is nothing compared to what happens at higher level. Just a re presence of those monsters would obliterate this whole world.'

Even if he wanted to change it, there was nothing much he could do about it except forcing his own rules on the populace. Even that wouldn't work properly and he knew it.

Humans were complex Creatures and he couldn't understand them properly. He wondered, as he thought about his mother.

'Can she do sothing about this? She's an Outer God after all?'

He was brought out of his thoughts when Ning Xi continued.

"My hatred for Cultivators was so much that I could see nothing. But there was nothing I could as I didn't have the power to take my revenge. And if I wanted that power, then I would have to beco the sa as those people I hated."

She chuckled.

"So, I decided to take that path even if it ant I'll be the sa them. But I knew Xue'er wasn't like and I also didn't want to bring her into all of this. So, I left her at one of our relative's ho. They lived inside a safe City and were safe to so extent. But as you can see, she didn't listen to at all."

Hearing that, Ning Xue protested quickly.

"How could I have just let you just walk to your death like that? I wanted to share your burden as much as I can."

Rolling her eyes, Ning Xi said.

"You didn't even listen to , so why would I need you? Also, you're too soft for the cultivation world and you should have realised that by now, right?"

Seeing the look on her sister's face, Ning Xi sighed.

"Try to understand, Xue'er. Don't dirty your hands in the cultivation world. Live a good and happy life."

Shaking her head, Ning Xue said.

"I can't be happy knowing that my sister is probably dying sowhere and I'm sitting there all powerless. I don't want to lose my family again just because I'm weak, Big Sis."

Those words hit the right spot as Ning Xi turned silent. Then, she ignored her and turned towards Shen Yu, saying.

"Anyway, I started my Cultivation life by killing a young master and I took his Cultivation manual. It was tough as I had to run around a lot but I remained a rouge Cultivator and grew strong until I hit the barrier on Core Formation Realm. I was already infamous by then so Federation was happy to take in."

Ning Xi nodded in agreent.

"Yes, but the policies in the federation just isn't for . You know very well, Master. I couldn't be bothered by them so I just decided to protect a small town and stay away from their radar."

She had a odd mixture of disappointed and angry look as she continued.

"In those years of wandering around, I learned a lot about the world and also got a reality check. Even if I was at the peak of Core Formation Realm, I was nothing but a weakling that could be taken out any mont those bastards at top wanted. So, I did the best I could do and hid like a coward in the Green Silk Town and decided to protect it and it's citizen till my last breath."

A chuckle left from her, full of resignation.

"I have also t a lot of Cultivators who were willing to risk their life for others, so I slowly understood how the world worked and there was nothing I can do about it. But then you ca."

She grinned and said.

"You gave a hope. A hope that we can finally change how the world worked and you can make strong too. There was no reason for to not enter the Divine Harem Sect and so here I am."

She waited for other's reaction and when she got none, she turned towards Ying Yue who was looking at her in pity. Her lips twitched as she asked.

"What's with that look?"

Ying Yue shook her head and said.

"I was just wondering about the people who go through so much for reason but they can have a good end. So, is it worth all the efforts? For example, you lost everyone except your sister but in return you got to see the wider world and power to protect others. Was it worth it?"

It took a few seconds for Ning Xi to respond, as she grinned and said.

"I don't look at past because there's nothing I can do about it. As for it's worth? I don't know. I'm happy I can protect those people but I don't think I will sacrifice my family for others. Call a hypocrite but I would always prioritize my family."

As he listened to everyone's discussion, Shen Yu was looking above, his eyes shining in a strange starry glow. His lips curved up as he thought.

'Thats right! Why did I forget such a simple thing? Struggles are what makes the life Interesting. Sothing bad is what gives the aning sothing good. Without it, nobody would appreciate that good thing. It's similar to life. Without struggles, one would not improve or advance, and neither will they appreciate life.'
