C16 – The Competition Between the Small Towns
Over the next two days, Wang Tianxia threw another lavish feast in celebration.
Now, just by asking around in town, there wasn’t a soul who didn’t know the na Wang Shan.

Should he manage to locate them, he might uncover more about the Wang family’s past.
“Young Master, the journey to Cloud Thunder Country is quite long. Are you sure you want to go alone? We’ve grown accustod to serving you, and without you, we’ll feel out of sorts,” Jiaxia confessed, disheartened by the thought of Wang Shan traveling to Cloud Thunder Country by himself.
Wang Shan had inford the five girls of his solo trip to Cloud Thunder Country, not anticipating their profound reaction.
In their eyes, he saw a deep sense of attachnt and reluctance to let him go.
Their looks mirrored those of brides loath to part with their grooms, which ward Wang Shan’s heart.
Though Wang Shan had only been in this world for a short ti, his mories told him that these five won had unfailingly looked after him for the past five years.
“The trip to Cloud Thunder Country will be arduous, and I fear the journey may be too harsh for you. That’s why I’ve decided to go alone.”
Truthfully, his decision was made with the won’s safety in mind. The world beyond their small town, especially outside Cloud City, was rife with deceit.
The five won felt at a loss. They were well aware that Young Master Chu, while seemingly amiable, was resolute in his decisions, and it was nearly impossible for anyone to sway him once his mind was made up. With no other choice, they reluctantly consented.
Wang Tianxia, however, did not share their resignation upon learning that Wang Shan intended to travel to Cloud Thunder Country alone. That very night, he summoned Wang Shan to his study and sternly reprimanded him.
”You’re a fool! These won are beautiful and virtuous. I’ve already co to regard them as my daughters-in-law. Are you thinking of abandoning them now?”
Wang Shan responded calmly, “I’m concerned for the safety of my future five wives. The world outside is far too harsh, and I can’t bear the thought of them facing any hardship.”
Wang Tianxia held back any further reproach.
“It seems you won’t be able to journey to Cloud Thunder Country anyti soon. The mayor ca by earlier to inform that in two days, you’ll be representing our town in the neighboring town’s competition.”
Pride bead from Wang Tianxia’s face as he spoke. The town had only one spot, and it was reserved for Wang Shan alone.
Only a true genius of the town had the honor of competing on its behalf!
“Is there a reward?” asked Wang Shan, who was not one to engage in unrewarding endeavors.
Wang Tianxia chuckled, seeing right through his son’s intentions, “The mayor has promised that if you win, you’ll receive a prize of two hundred thousand gold coins, a High Grade Earth Rank cultivation technique, and a Great Replenishing Pill.”
While these rewards held little significance for Wang Shan, the thought of his impending departure to Lotus Academy made him want to leave sothing behind for his father. The High Grade Earth Rank cultivation technique and the Great Replenishing Pill would be perfect for Wang Tianxia. Having been a Two-star Cultivator for over a decade, these gifts could very well help him make the breakthrough to beco a Three-star Cultivator with ease.
