Her voice caught in her throat as Lee Dahai’s hands tightened around it. anwhile, her phone lay shattered beneath his foot, completely destroyed.

In desperation, An Ge tried to raise her pepper spray against him. Whether it was the fever sapping her strength or sheer terror, she pressed the button several tis but couldn’t muster the strength to use it. Quickly, the spray was knocked from her hands by Lee Dahai.

His gaze lingered indulgently on her figure beneath her nightgown, his tone malicious, "Baby, I heard you’re pregnant? I can’t wait to et your kids. Are you going to undress yourself, or should I help?"

An Ge bit her lip until it bled, the pain snapping her back to clarity. "Lee Dahai," she said, "I am not the sa person today. I am the sworn granddaughter of Mrs. Huo, half a mber of the Huo Family. If you dare touch , you’ll be challenging the Huo Family’s authority, and Huo Shaoyan, their leader, won’t let you off."

Lee Dahai sneered, "Cut the act. Huo Shaoyan already kicked you out. What are you pretending for?"

As he spoke, Lee Dahai lunged at An Ge impatiently.

The bathroom was small, and soon she had nowhere to retreat. His hands lunged towards her chest, and his breath moved in to bite her neck.

At the height of despair, An Ge resorted to a desperate asure and aid a blow with her knee towards his vulnerability.

Lee Dahai doubled over in pain.

An Ge seized the opportunity to run, only to be caught again minutes later.

She was forced face down onto the sink, her entire body pressed down against it by him.

He bit into her neck from behind, causing her mind to flash with grueso images, and in that instant, her entire deanor changed. On the sink stood a glass cup used for brushing teeth. She grabbed it and swung it at the demon assaulting her.

Even though she was so small and weak, in that mont it was as if so otherworldly power possessed her, leaving Lee Dahai with no room to counterattack.

By the ti Xiao Ye arrived, An Ge was lying unconscious on the living room floor, her hands and face splattered with blood. Not far from her lay Lee Dahai, similarly unconscious.

Xiao Ye, having never witnessed such a bloody scene before, froze with shock.

A beautiful woman with bloodstained hands and face, along with a man lying in a pool of blood, was an image terrifying enough to chill anyone to the bone.

He stood dazed for a full half-minute before the thought of rescuing people crossed his mind.

First, he called his driver for help, and then he phoned the police.

An Ge was soon taken to the hospital.

When Qin Lang reached her apartnt, the police were there, questioning Xiao Ye about the incident.

Seeing the blood on the ground and piecing together a rough understanding, Qin Lang called Huo Shaoyan.

At that mont, Huo Shaoyan was irritated because An Ge had hung up on him. In his hands was a Buddhist Scripture Collection he had flipped to page three hundred.

On the page was written: Of all the precepts, refraining from killing is the first.

This section was about avoiding killing!

The abbot at Huangjue Temple had said he carried too much anger, psychologists claid he was terminally ill, his father called him a bad seed, while his mother lanted his lonely fate...

Yet all he wanted was to live like a normal person, to rid himself of this anger.

When Qin Lang called, Huo Shaoyan finally moved his gaze away from the words, "Of all the precepts, refraining from killing is the first."

Once the call connected, it was Qin Lang’s voice that ca through, "Sir, sothing’s happened."

[On the way to Jingcheng Hospital,] Huo Shaoyan received a call from Jiang Fengmian, who had just finished a surgery.

Wearing a white coat, Jiang Fengmian glanced towards the ergency room, "What happened?"

The question left Huo Shaoyan puzzled, "Hmm?"

Jiang Fengmian recounted the scene he encountered of An Ge being wheeled into the ergency room, and then asked, "She was covered in blood. What happened?"

As these words were spoken, Huo Shaoyan’s heart twisted inexplicably.

Although his tone conveyed little emotion, it was laced with an unnad intensity, "I’m not quite sure. Are you... at the hospital?"

Jiang Fengmian affird with a sound.

Huo Shaoyan said, "She is also your patient, will you stand by and do nothing?"

An Ge had been taking blood nourishing and pregnancy-protecting dicine prescribed by Jiang Fengmian for so ti now, and it was proving effective.

Thus, An Ge could be considered Jiang Fengmian’s patient.

Despite his distaste for An Ge’s unwed pregnancy, adhering to his duty to save lives, he agreed to assist Huo Shaoyan, "I’ll go help."

By the ti Huo Shaoyan arrived, An Ge had already regained consciousness.

At that mont, the police were questioning her about the events that took place.

Although feverish and with a throbbing head, her mind remained remarkably clear.

She recounted the events with clarity, "Lee Dahai attempted to rape . He bit my neck and I defended myself by hitting him on the head with a glass cup. After that... I’m not sure what happened."

The police regarded her with a complex gaze, saying, "Lee Dahai is now in critical condition, with multiple compound fractures all over his body. Things aren’t looking good. Where did a young woman like you get such strength..."

An Ge was left at a loss, "I... I don’t know. I was so scared, and I just wanted to save myself. I rember hitting his head and after that... I don’t know what happened, I fainted."

A police officer then turned to Jiang Fengmian, who was wearing a white coat, and asked, "Is her condition considered...?"

Huo Shaoyan, annoyed by the officer’s prattle, coldly interrupted, "Haven’t you finished yet? The patient needs to rest!"
