Huo Shaoyan: "Ms. An, this fiancée is sowhat different from the previous ones."

An Ge opened her eyes.

Just then, foam fell into her eyes.

Her shampoo wasn’t a tear-free formula.

An Ge’s eyes stung unbearably, and she exclaid repeatedly: "It hurts, it hurts..."

Seeing this, Huo Shaoyan hurriedly rinsed her eyes with clean water.

After a while, An Ge’s eyes still hurt slightly, making her lose all trace of sleepiness.

She sat up, angrily looking at Huo Shaoyan, speaking both aggrievedly and angrily: "Huo Shaoyan, do you even know how to wash?"

Huo Shaoyan looked at her red eyes that seed like they could drip blood, and lifted his hand to pinch her chin.

He gazed at her inscrutably, his hot breath all sprayed across An Ge’s face.

His voice was sowhat hoarse, and his words carried a sense of casualness,

"Ms. An, in my existing mory, I’ve never done the job of serving won. So, bear with it."

An Ge turned her head, pulling her chin out from the palm of his hand, angrily saying:

"I can’t bear it, I’ll wash it myself. If you want to leave, then leave. I don’t want to keep you here. Seeing you reminds of a pile of annoying things. Go accompany your Ms. Mo Yuan."

She really seed angry, puffed up with frustration.

Huo Shaoyan watched her for a while, then finally stood up, leaving the bathroom without a word.

The bathroom door closed behind him.

His departure made the bathroom space seem much larger in an instant.

But An Ge’s chest was filled with an overwhelming feeling of frustration.

She zoned out for a while, before she finally started rinsing the foam from her hair, wrapped herself in a towel, and stepped out of the bathroom.

As she erged from the bathroom, the man standing by the window turned around and walked towards her.

Seeing him stride over with his long legs, An Ge said irritably, "Told you to leave, why didn’t you?"

"I’ll leave after I dry your hair."

An Ge wasn’t pleased: "If you want to leave, then leave. I have my own hands and feet, I don’t need you to dry it."

While speaking, Huo Shaoyan had already found the hairdryer.

Accompanied by the buzzing sound, the warm breeze of the hairdryer blew over her scalp, and the man’s voice ca at the sa ti,

"Did you often throw little tantrums at when we were together before?"

He was curious about how their relationship used to be.

With soone serving her, An Ge wasn’t pretentious.

She lay across the sofa, allowing him to dry her hair.

Her voice returned to its previous laziness, soft and warm,

"No. We were apart more than together; during the limited ti we had together, we argued more than anything. We were together..."

She added with a touch of lancholy,

"Being together seed to an endless argunts. Neither of us would give in, neither of us willing to compromise."

Huo Shaoyan didn’t quite understand, "Why argue all the ti? Didn’t you love and I used to adore you?"

Accompanied by the warming breeze of the hairdryer on her scalp, An Ge started to drift off again,

"I’d also like to know why we argued non-stop, you never felt the slightest sympathy for ..."

Her last sentence carried a hint of complaint.

Huo Shaoyan thought her hair was nearly dry and turned off the hairdryer, "I didn’t care for you?"

An Ge softly said after a while, "At least, I never felt cared for or cherished."

She really felt sleepy.

Outside, the sun had moved west, clouds covering half of it; the room’s light dimd a bit.

In the dim, warm halo, she drifted off to sleep.

He had let her lean her head on his leg earlier to make it easier to dry her hair.

Now that she was asleep, he couldn’t move easily.

Huo Shaoyan brushed away the strands of hair stuck to her face, looking at her serene and delicate sleeping face,

"Ms. An, sleeping like this will be uncomfortable. Should I carry you to bed?"

An Ge didn’t respond; she was truly asleep.

Huo Shaoyan slipped his arms under her waist and legs, lifting her up.

As he lifted her, the slight jostling made her frown unhappily, "Don’t shake so much, it makes dizzy..."

Huo Shaoyan thought she was quite difficult to please.

After placing An Ge on the bed, he intended to leave, as his phone, set to silent, was nearly dead from Mo Yuan’s calls.

He pulled the blanket over An Ge and began to move, ready to go.

Ti had dwindled down to this, and An Ge was now unwilling to let him leave.

She grabbed his arm, holding it to herself,

"Can you hold for a while? I don’t sleep soundly alone; wait until I fall asleep, then go, alright?"

She opened her eyes as she spoke.

Her dewy peach blossom eyes made refusal impossible.

When Huo Shaoyan lay down beside her, watching her snuggle into his embrace and drift into a deep sleep,

That mont, Huo Shaoyan was convinced — she certainly had the appeal to seize the spot of Mrs. Huo.

An Ge had a sound sleep in Huo Shaoyan’s embrace.

Two hours or so of sleep left her feeling remarkably refreshed upon waking.

What surprised her more was that Huo Shaoyan hadn’t left.

She awoke in the man’s embrace.

Outside, the sky had turned completely dark, and it seed like it was raining?

In the darkness, An Ge touched the muscular barrier of his chest, feeling a slight sweetness,

"President Huo, why haven’t you left?"

Truthfully, after An Ge fell asleep, Huo Shaoyan planned to leave, but the rain outside, coupled with her tight embrace of his waist, and his own sleepiness, led him to stay.

He woke up a little earlier than An Ge.

In the dark room, he listened to her steady, strong breathing, a deep voice quietly erged from within him.

He began to doubt Mo Yuan’s true intentions.

He wondered if he ever truly liked Mo Yuan, and whether the reason he forgot An Ge was all due to Mo Yuan’s sches...

In any case, his suspicion towards Mo Yuan reached unprecedented heights.

Only, whenever he thought about Mo Yuan, especially when questioning her, his head would ache severely.

Humans are creatures that seek benefit and avoid harm.

After feeling the pain like his head might explode, he decisively chose not to think about Mo Yuan’s matters.

At this mont, the woman’s voice sounded in his ear, calming the agitation within his heart.

Without turning on the light, he could precisely locate her eyes.

He gazed at her, his voice slightly hoarse: "It’s drizzling outside."

An Ge murmured, "Was it the rain that kept you here, or my sweet embrace?"

Huo Shaoyan didn’t respond to her prompt.

He withdrew his arm, which had gone numb from being her pillow, sat up, and simultaneously turned on the floor lamp by the bed.

Under the warm light, she looked up into his eyes, persistently waiting for an answer.

Huo Shaoyan pulled her out from under the covers, An Ge naturally leaned against him, still looking up at him, "President Huo, is this question difficult to answer?"

Huo Shaoyan: "Not difficult."

An Ge raised an eyebrow: "Then why don’t you answer directly?"

She pressed her hands against his chest, then slid across his waist, rubbing against him, looking at him, "President Huo, why won’t you admit it?"

She wasn’t aware of how her current state made one’s heart race.
