Li Shaosi gestured to the people behind him.
Monts later, a man wearing a white shirt appeared, bound tightly by Li Shaosi’s subordinates.
The man was promptly and violently tossed at An Ge’s feet,
causing An Ge to retreat two steps in fright.
An Ge couldn’t quite understand Li Shaosi’s intentions.
She forced herself to remain calm for a mont before finding her voice, "Mr. Li, I don’t quite understand what you an."
Almost as soon as her words fell, Li Shaosi’s pointed leather shoe pressed down on the bound man’s face.
The man demonstrated remarkable endurance—even as his face was ground against the deck, scraping the skin raw, he made no sound.
Li Shaosi found it dull and boring. He withdrew his foot from the man’s face, delivered three heavy kicks to his stomach, and then turned to his subordinates, saying,
"Throw him into the river—let him feed the fish!"
An Ge: "..."
In less than a dozen seconds, the man was thrown into the river before An Ge’s very eyes.
Of course, Li Shaosi didn’t intend to outright kill him.
He ordered his n to hang the man off the tail of the yacht, his head barely above the surface of the river while the rest of his body was subrged in the water.
An Ge found it cruel.
The river’s waves were rough—even though his head was above water, every wave threatened to choke him, and choking could easily lead to suffocation and death.
Terrified by the sight, An Ge’s face turned pale.
She feared Li Shaosi might tornt her in the sa way.
She tried to say sothing, "Mr. Li..."
The man cut her off, "I have a na."
An Ge pressed her lips together, forcing herself to speak calmly, "Li Shaosi..."
"You can be more friendly, call Shaosi, or Shaosi Big Brother." The man patiently suggested, "I’ve already told you—I always treat beauties kindly. Don’t be nervous; I won’t treat you like that."
An Ge took a deep breath, composed herself again, and then said:
"Li Shaosi, this is Jingcheng, not open waters. Huo Shaoyan will soon discover I’ve been kidnapped—you won’t escape..."
The man interrupted her:
"Ms. An, why would I need to escape?" He paused, "I’m your savior, you know. President Huo owes a big favor."
An Ge: "..."
She felt Li Shaosi was downright insane.
He kidnapped her but claid to be her savior, and even said President Huo would owe her a huge favor...
If this wasn’t insanity, what was?
"Ms. An, I’m not insane."
An Ge: "......"
Li Shaosi seed to have read through her entirely.
He took a few steps closer to her, his deep and unreadable gaze fixed on her, and said:
"The man who truly intended to kidnap you is already hanging off the back of my yacht, Ms. An. I saved you, hmm?"
An Ge was stunned, her pupils widening in disbelief.
Li Shaosi continued:
"That man is Mo Yuan’s fellow disciple, her senior brother. He’s Mo Yuan’s devoted backup—a man who could live for her, or even die for her. Mo Yuan cried to him over the phone, and he ca up with this plan to kidnap and eliminate you. But ? I’m just a good Samaritan who happened to step in and help."
An Ge refused to believe he was a good person.
Of course, what Li Shaosi said likely wasn’t entirely a lie either.
At the very least, his words made An Ge’s taut nerves relax slightly.
Noticing every detail of her expression, Li Shaosi snorted softly, "Don’t believe , then."
After speaking, he turned to leave.
An Ge hurriedly called out to him: "If it’s really like you said, then why would your yacht be heading toward a desolate area..."
Li Shaosi raised his eyebrows, his smile a touch wicked: "I just wanted to see how much of a bargaining chip you are to President Huo, Ms. An."
With that, he ordered his subordinates to lock An Ge in one of the yacht’s rooms.
The room was spacious and fully equipped. Lying on the bed, An Ge could even see the vast starry sky.
But there was no way she’d be able to sleep peacefully, even though she was bone-weary.
So ti passed, and a commotion arose outside. Soon after, the yacht stopped moving.
An Ge thought it must be Huo Shaoyan and his people catching up, and her heart surged with a mix of excitent and relief.
Before long, Li Shaosi’s n opened her door and brought her outside.
It was late, and the wind on the river was strong.
An Ge was taken to the yacht’s entertainnt lounge, where Li Shaosi had just finished a ga of cards.
An Ge, radiant and stunning, captured the attention of every man in the room. Their gazes were unabashed and vulgar, as though they hadn’t seen a woman in years.
Only Li Shaosi’s gaze was like a river of stars, shining bright and free of impurities.
He lit a cigarette, took a puff, then gestured toward An Ge with a slight lift of his chin, "Luck’s been against tonight—co and help draw the cards."
An Ge didn’t want to go near him and inhale his secondhand smoke.
Li Shaosi curled his lips into a roguish smile, "If you hate the sll of smoke, I’ll extinguish it for you right now."
As he spoke, he extinguished the cigarette without hesitation.
After putting it out, he added, "I’m only asking you to draw cards for —not to share a bed with . Why so bashful?"
At that mont, one of his subordinates rushed in frantically from outside, "Boss, Huo Shaoyan and his n are here."
Li Shaosi’s expression remained unchanged as he smiled and asked, "How many n did he bring?"
"At least a dozen speedboats, but the extent of reinforcents in the shadows isn’t clear yet."
Li Shaosi’s expression still betrayed no alarm. Chuckling, he turned to An Ge and said:
"He does care about you, doesn’t he? This setup—it looks like he’s ready for a fight to the death tonight, doesn’t it?"
With that, he flashed a signal to his subordinates, and An Ge was forcibly brought beside him and pushed down into a seat beside him.
The faint, sweet fragrance on her body filled the air, subtly intoxicating Li Shaosi, a man accustod to abstinence who rarely indulged in desires.
Still, he wasn’t the kind of vulgar man to overstep boundaries. His basic sense of propriety remained intact.
Even though he was tempted, he refrained from touching her.
Li Shaosi poured himself a glass of red wine, drained it in one gulp, and suppressed the itch within.
Then he said to An Ge: "Ms. An, I hear you’ve been investigating the Qin family’s massacre years ago?"
An Ge jolted in shock, her entire body trembling.
Looking up, her gaze t the man’s deep smile as his beguiling peach-blossom-shaped eyes glimred like fragnts of gold—devilish yet charming.
An Ge asked: "You..."
"Do you know what my relationship with Gu Changfeng is? Or the true identity of Gu Changfeng?"
Saying this, he suddenly leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a near-whisper near her ear:
"Gu Changfeng is actually Qin Jingzhi, the sixth son of the late Qin family. The one who died on-site, crushed in half by falling beams, was my twin brother."
An Ge was too stunned to speak, her pupils contracting sharply.
Li Shaosi shifted away from the heavy topic and said to An Ge:
"If you want to know more, be obedient and help draw cards, hmm?"
Suppressing her excitent and steadying herself, An Ge reluctantly complied.
Her luck was indeed good—she started off by drawing the highest card, the King Bomb.
Li Shaosi found her intriguing, oddly resembling that little girl from years ago with twin pigtails ingrained in his mory.
Back then, if not for what happened to the Qin family, he might have married her.
Fixing his burning gaze on An Ge’s profile for a while, Li Shaosi’s concentration broke when Huo Shaoyan stord in.
Seeing Huo Shaoyan, An Ge instinctively tried to stand, but Li Shaosi pressed a hand to her shoulder and forced her back down.
Huo Shaoyan’s phoenix-like eyes narrowed coldly, "Li Shaosi, state your terms. We can negotiate. Don’t harm her."
Li Shaosi smiled faintly and said:
"Everyone knows I’m currently being hunted by Hai City Li Family’s newly installed Family Head. Penniless and on the run, staying alive is an uphill battle. So, I’d like to borrow twenty billion from President Huo to start fresh—just wondering if President Huo is willing."
Huo Shaoyan lacked for nothing when it ca to money.
If money could solve the problem, it was open to discussion.
Huo Shaoyan said, "Release her first..."
Li Shaosi replied:
"President Huo, you might misunderstand . I wasn’t the one who kidnapped Ms. An. In fact, if not for my tily intervention, Ms. An would have either been thrown into the river as fish food, or her corpse would’ve gone cold by now."
Huo Shaoyan furrowed his brows, "What do you an?"
Li Shaosi said: "No rush—sit and play a few rounds?"
Huo Shaoyan wasn’t interested in wasting ti. His tone was icy and commanding: "Let her go, twenty billion, I’ll give it to you."
Li Shaosi raised his eyebrows, "Tut-tut, didn’t expect Ms. An to be worth so much. Feels like I’ve lowballed myself..."
Huo Shaoyan raised his gun and aid toward Li Shaosi, "Li Shaosi, you’re in my territory—do you understand?"
Li Shaosi spread his hands casually, lifting An Ge and giving her a slight push toward Huo Shaoyan.
An Ge stumbled forward, nearly falling entirely.
Huo Shaoyan reacted swiftly, dashing forward to catch and pull her securely into his arms.
The woman in his arms trembled slightly.
Realizing how shaken she was, Huo Shaoyan lowered his head, pressing a kiss gently to her forehead, then lightly patted her back in comfort, whispering, "Don’t be afraid—I’m here."
