The room fell silent, with Lucas, Mark, and Aiden at a loss for words, exchanging puzzled looks.

"Who are you picking up tomorrow?" Mrs. George repeated, settling into a chair.

"My girlfriend," Mark replied nervously. "Her father asked to pick her up for a party. He doesn’t want her driving herself."

"Is this friend from Belmont too?" Mrs. George inquired, turning her attention to Lucas, who seed irritated.

"Why are you so interested in my personal life? Is that why you’re here, to keep tabs on ?" Lucas snapped, glaring at Mrs. George.

"I’m your mother and I have the right to know everything going on with you," Mrs. George replied with a heavy sigh. "Everything going on with the three of you."

"Really?! You’re acting like my mother now? This new behavior of yours would have been helpful when my twin sister was alive. If you insist on knowing everything going on with us, she might still be alive," Lucas retorted.

"Lucas!!!" Mrs. George called out, her body tensing. "Watch your mouth, young man. You’re not the only one who cared about your sister; I cared about her too. You keep blaming for her death, but what about your father? Why don’t you bla him as well?"

"Yeah, both of you! I sotis wonder what sin I committed in my past life for God to give you two as parents. It would have been better to be an orphan," Lucas said, only to receive a thunderous slap on his cheek from Mrs. George.

He could swear that he saw stars the mont the slap landed on his cheek. His ears were ringing like a whistling kettle, and he couldn’t hear anything around him for a mont.

"I told you to watch that tongue of yours," Mrs. George said through gritted teeth before storming out of the room.

"You shouldn’t have said that, Lucas," Aiden said, placing a hand on Lucas’s shoulder.

"I just couldn’t help it. Seeing her always brings back past mories," Lucas said, still holding his cheek. "I hate how she’s pretending to care. It would be better if she just went back to her old, uncaring self so I wouldn’t get angry."

"But what if she really does care about you, Lucas. She’s ho now, but what about your father? He’s still on his business trip as usual, not even bothering to co ho after the death of your twin sister," Mark said softly, also placing a hand on Lucas’s shoulder. "I believe your mother has realized her mistake and is trying to make things right with you."

"Fixing things with wouldn’t bring back my twin sister, you know," Lucas replied with a heavy sigh. "And I can assure you, she’s just pretending. My parents only care about their jobs. I want them to feel the sa pain I felt three years ago. I want them to feel scared that they’re about to lose too. Maybe then they’ll realize their mistakes."

"You turned to bullying because you hoped the scholarship student would retaliate one day and hit you, putting you in a coma," Aiden said with a burst of laughter.

"Arthur was close to that. If only he had muscles and a short temper, you would have been in trouble," Mark added, joining in the laughter.

"It’s a wish that can never co true. I found the idea dumb from the start," Aiden said, shaking his head.

"Even if it’s not, I enjoy bullying those lowlifes. Isn’t the lunatic who got my sister pregnant a scholarship student too? That’s why my parents keep accepting scholarship students," Lucas said angrily. "Maybe if her two children are hard by those lowlifes, she’ll stop accepting scholarship students.

"You’re just saying that because you’re still upset. Who would want to die?" Aiden said, swallowing hard. " The scholarship students won’t harm you. It might be ti to make ands with your mother."

" I’ll consider it once I see that she and dad have truly changed. Then I’ll think about reconciling with them. Let’s put aside the family issues for now and focus on the party tomorrow," Lucas suggested, with Mark and Aiden agreeing to avoid upsetting him further.
