The son was right, it’s more convenient to keep it with her when we really need it.
"Alright, I’ll keep it for now," Hua, the old woman, nodded.
"Grandma, feel free to use it, I have plenty," Jin’er assured her grandmother.
Honestly, if grandma hadn’t ntioned it, Jin’er would have completely forgotten about the ginseng stored away, back then she put it away just in case, and didn’t care about it afterward.
She rembers that it wasn’t only dicinal herbs, but quite a few seeds were stored too, including ginseng seeds.
Only thinking of commonly used dicines, she completely forgot about the ginseng, and the seeds were neglected; it seems it’s ti to plant so.
Jin’er made a ntal note to do so howork whenever she has ti and plant the ginseng seeds.
With this reassurance from her granddaughter, Hua, the old woman, was truly relieved.
Her son handed her quite a few slices of ginseng, just enough to sporadically boost the family’s health, especially the old man.
Their health was deficient in earlier years, although they’ve recuperated quite a bit over these years, nothing enhances one’s health quite like ginseng!
Upon finding out his wife was pregnant with twins, Hua Yunao was filled with indescribable emotions, looking at her large belly left him both joyous, amazed, and scared.
As soon as he entered the room and saw Big Ya getting up from the bed, he hurriedly rushed over.
"Don’t move... don’t move," almost treating Big Ya like a fragile porcelain doll, "You’re heavy, please don’t move, I’m here now, are you thirsty?" He helped Big Ya sit properly on the bed, following his wife’s gaze, Hua Yunao quickly poured her so water.
Watching her husband so worried about her, Big Ya couldn’t help but smile, feeling incredibly happy. She gazed at her husband affectionately, causing Hua Yunao’s heart to lt, and he carefully sat beside his wife, gently embracing her.
"Husband, you don’t have to be so cautious..." Big Ya softly murmured.
"..."
The next day, because of Sun ’A-Pang’, Hua Yunao had to go help early. Known for doting on his sister imnsely, he knocked on her door unusually, just to ask her to go upstairs and accompany his wife.
With Hua Jin glaring at him fiercely, she followed her brother upstairs to accompany her sister-in-law amid his constant cheerful apologizing, being extrely cautious so as not to wake up her sleeping sister-in-law, showing evident tenderness from brother to sister-in-law.
That day, Hua Valley was unusually lively, the high temperature did not hinder the joyful atmosphere and everyone’s enthusiasm.
Jin’er joined the family for another banquet of celebration, the occasional big table feast was truly a delight to savor, Jin’er enjoyed it imnsely, even her two sisters-in-law had good appetites.
...
Upon waking up, Jin’er glanced at the indoor thermoter as usual, then suddenly sat up, all traces of sleepiness disappeared from her eyes.
Usually, after a night, the ice lts, keeping the room temperature around twenty-eight degrees, but that glance showed twenty-five degrees. Thinking she might have misread, Jin’er blinked hard and looked again.
Twenty-five degrees indeed, she stared at the thermoter closely, grabbed the clothes beside the bed, and put them on, then took the thermoter in hand.
The nightti temperature in her room always remained around twenty-eight degrees, the ice from last night was of the usual size and quantity, normally there shouldn’t be much difference.
Considering the ti, it’s been extrely hot for over a year, could it be: "..."
Jin’er’s gaze suddenly beca deeper.
Upon considering this possibility, she hurriedly fixed her hair, tidied her clothes, clutching the thermoter, Jin’er rushed out of the house, ignoring her mother’s call.
"Jin’er..."
Qi watched her daughter rush out the door like a gust of wind, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Glancing at her raised hand, Qi shook her head resignedly and lowered it.
"What’s going on?" Hua Chengtian followed his wife’s gaze towards the outside, looking puzzled, seeing nothing unusual.
"It’s Jin’er, she rushed out so hurriedly, didn’t even hear calling her, acting hasty, I wonder where she’s off to."
"There shouldn’t be anything wrong, our daughter has always been fiery, perhaps she just suddenly rembered sothing, don’t worry."
If there was really sothing wrong, she wouldn’t have rushed out by herself, she would have talked it over with him and her father.
Qi glanced at her children’s father; that’s what she was thinking too, right? Who knows her daughter better than her? She wasn’t worried at all, besides, if there was any issue, it would be soone else’s trouble, especially within the valley.
"Do I look worried? I just wanted to remind our daughter to co back for food."
She couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Hua Chengtian.
"Ah..."
Hua Chengtian looked at his wife with a helpless smile, indeed, he’s being despised.
"What ah, while you’re here, wait for our daughter, I have work to do, and I need to hurry and make clothes for the children, and swaddles, there’s plenty of work, remind her to eat when she returns."
Finishing her words, she hurried off to the grandmother’s room, not giving her husband an extra glance.
Hua Chengtian: "..."
The grandchildren aren’t even born yet, but he feels his place in his wife’s heart is starting to shake.
This isn’t right, he must be the first priority as the husband.
With the grandchildren not yet born, he’s already thinking about how to vie for attention; if Qi knew, Hua Chengtian’s ears would surely be in trouble.
anwhile, Jin’er arrived swiftly at the valley entrance, greeted the uncle guarding the gates before opening them, then fixed her eyes on the ground thermoter, watching it finally settle at sixty-four degrees.
So... her guess was correct, the temperature is really starting to drop, albeit not very noticeably.
Extre heat... is it finally coming to an end?
Jin’er looked up at the still blazing sun in the sky, her expression wasn’t joyous because of the temperature drop, but rather more somber.
She slowly peeled off the protective film, and a sensation of being thrown into a furnace instantly hit her, flushed with heat only within a few breaths, she quickly armored herself again, her face flushed as she quietly gazed at the sky before turning to enter the valley.
The post-heat dream kept replaying in her mind.
A greater disaster was approaching, she wondered how many would survive this ti, and her expression grew heavier.
Step by step, she walked back into the valley, trying hard to recall the scenes in her dream, sothing she has done nurous tis, but unfortunately her dreams were too chaotic, transitioning abruptly, with no buffer, however hard she tried, she couldn’t retrieve any information.
Only knowing a quake struck suddenly after the extre heat, they were on the mountain at the ti, the situation was dire, even she fell down the mountain....
No... wait... just as Jin’er entered the valley, she abruptly turned around, staring at the towering valley gates behind her.
She forgot... the "she" in the dream wasn’t her, many things had changed now, including this valley which hadn’t appeared in the dream, in the dream they never lived self-sufficiently with such ease.
