When Hua Jin woke up, it was already past noon. Everyone had already eaten, and Old Mr. Luo was happily chatting with Old Man Hua, while Luo Song had already set out again with more than half of the n and livestock, taking the valley route map drawn by Hua Chengtian.
Grandfather entrusted all the things he brought to Uncle Hua.
Each household in Hua Village had a lot of things, but with so many people, it was still not enough. Besides, most things had already been transported to the valley, leaving only a little grain and daily essentials.
Moreover, only a few people remained in the valley this ti around, as Hua Chengtian brought most of the strong laborers back. Carrying more things was not an issue at all, not to ntion they could employ small tricks. Otherwise, Hua Chengtian wouldn’t have agreed to help with transportation.
Luo Song trusted Uncle Hua very much, and with Grandfather with them, he felt at ease. After a good al, they set off without further delay. The next eting would be in the valley, and to be able to go back and forth sooner, they made better speed.
With no elderly, weak, won, and children, the return speed was even faster, taking ten days to transport everything back to the valley, including their stored firewood.
anwhile, as days passed, the temperatures gradually increased, and by the ti everyone reached the valley, they were down to wearing just a single cotton-padded coat, as the temperatures had risen to post-New Year levels, and the ice and snow started to lt.
At this point, Hua Jin and her group had already moved to the valley.
To be honest, when they first arrived at the valley, except for those who had been before, everyone was utterly amazed.
It was unbelievably wonderful; it might be cold outside, but once inside the valley, you could feel a breath of spring. Before long, people started feeling warm and couldn’t help but shed layers, especially the energetic youngsters.
The most significant thing was the excellent environnt here. Besides the clusters of wooden houses, there was a clear lake and vast tracts of well-prepared land, so already planted with crops, which was most exciting.
Moreover, Hua Jin had imagined the valley to be vast from what her father described, but it was much larger than she expected.
The middle lake aside, besides the places they would reside, a place was also cleared, clearly ant to be a grain drying yard. When not used for drying grains, it could serve as a practice ground for everyone.
There was far more land apportioned, totaling several hundred acres, more than the combined farmland of the entire village previously!
As long as they planted grains well, even one season’s yield could feed everyone for a long ti, not to ntion the nearby mountains were rich with vegetation and resources were abundant.
Seeing such a good place, everyone was so joyful!
In Hua Jin’s perspective, isn’t this just like Utopia?
Father and the others are really lucky!
Hua Jin silently gave countless thumbs up to her father and others.
Upon reaching here, after everyone switched to lighter cotton-padded clothes, nobody wanted to stay in a cave anymore. Moreover, the wooden houses for each family were already built, so they all joyfully moved back to their own wooden houses.
Even though the environnt was slightly cramped compared to their old houses, given the current circumstances, everyone was highly satisfied with having such good houses to live in. Moreover, they could add to the structure by spending so money.
And it wasn’t as small as imagined. Actually, the houses were similar to the usual ones, with only the courtyards being smaller.
Everyone was highly content, happily tidying up their wooden houses. Only then did they realize each household actually had a cellar built with anti-pest wood, neatly organized inside. There was no musty sll, only a faint fragrance of wood, which made everyone even more excited, finally feeling like they had a ho without worrying about constant wandering.
The Hua family’s situation was the sa.
The happiest were Grandma Hua and Qi Shi, alongside the lively and energetic Little Four, running up and down, helping the family allocate rooms.
The new Hua family’s house was structured with two rooms and a main hall downstairs, two side rooms, and also a kitchen and a firewood room. Upstairs had more rooms, with four rooms and a living room.
Of the four rooms, the three brothers each got one, and the remaining room was ant as a guest room.
Downstairs, the elderly couple had one room, Hua Chengtian and Qi Shi had another. The larger side room next to the old couple was set aside as Hua Jin’s room because they were reluctant to have her stay too far, plus it was cooler downstairs in the heat.
With the rooms allocated, everyone began tidying their things.
Hua Jin was very satisfied with her room. Although it was referred to as a side room, it wasn’t small, just a bit shorter than the main rooms.
Obviously, her father had put in the effort, as the decoration and bed were much better than her brothers’.
Delighted, Hua Jin began decorating her room, which basically ant rearranging her previous room’s setup.
As for what her brothers and others thought, that wasn’t her concern, after all, there had been more bewildering things for them than just this one.
Hua Village was revitalized with its past liveliness, unlike before on the mountain where they virtually stayed inside caves. Though peaceful, it was a bit stifling.
Now, with their hos sorted, everyone felt like they had returned to the old days, beginning to visit each other and gossip, a harmonious scene which even prompted Old Mr. Luo to feel restless inside his own wooden house.
Thanks to Hua Chengtian’s foresight, when constructing the houses, extra wooden houses were built in available spaces, a uniform one-story design, adding up to thirty-three, just in case, which now ca in handy.
Of course, the wooden houses couldn’t be occupied for free. Those not from the village had to pay a certain price to own one. Food, silver coins, or iron and copper tools could all be used for exchange, going into the Hua Village’s public reserves for ergencies.
Aunt Hua and Second Aunt Hua bought their wooden houses with food and silver coins. Naturally, Old Mr. Luo, who wasn’t lacking in silver or food, also bought six adjoining wooden houses for his large family, waiting for Luo Song to return and add two more floors to their wooden structures. Otherwise, accommodating over a hundred people wouldn’t suffice.
After settling down, the next day, the elderly couldn’t stay in and went to chat with Old Man Hua, strolling around and getting acquainted with the village elders.
Having been busy all his life, Old Mr. Luo never imagined living leisurely like this, spending days laughing, listening to gossip, and, if bored, teaching the village elders to play chess.
Even when Luo Song returned, Old Mr. Luo could rarely be found at ho except for altis.
Old Mr. Luo was having such a splendid ti living freely, which Luo Song was happy to see, so he naturally didn’t intervene, nor did he have the ti, being busy constructing the second story of the wooden building.
As for the timber, it was directly purchased from the village.
The timber chosen for the wooden houses was of the highest-quality nanmu, and they didn’t know where to find such materials. Instead, they directly bought from the village and also hired the sa team that previously built the houses.
